A beginner at videos, just playing around with GoPro video footage from rides out on my BMW G310R and my BMW R100RS motorcycle.
My rides are generally short ( about 1.5 hrs ) and around Yorkshire UK.
I am also posting slideshows featuring photo's taken from my hikes in mainly Northern England.
My name is Alan, Tall-Guy is the name I used on Flickr for posting photo's of The Lake District, The Yorkshire Dales, The North York Moors and more.

A lovely bit of countryside, most of the village's buildings are hidden in the dip of the land, except for the church spire sticking up in the sky. The name, like many other villages in Yorkshire have got the Vikings to thank for that.

Riding back home passing Castle Howard's estate, unfortunately the GoPro doesn't really catch Castle Howard House which is in the distance across the lake.

Reason I'm doing it in bits is because people don't always keep watching videos like this all way through if they're too long.. Also it doesn't take up so much computer time editing and uploading.

Out on the narrow roads above Kilburn I came across this gentleman with his horse and trap. I paused to let him by but as he got closer he beckoned me forward, there was a hole near where I was stopped that he wanted to avoid. As I came alongside, we had a little chat, he was interested in the camera, ( I've edited out most of that chat.). It was nice to see the horse and trap, I hope he didn't...
Yamaha YS125, Chest mounted GoPro fail

An early day try out with a GoPro when I had a Yamaha YS125. Camera chest mounted, but obviously not a stable enough mount. At least I still have a bit of video footage of the 125.

I've posted this video before, at least very similar.. I didn't like the music on that one so I've done a version without music. It's a great ride, you just have to be very aware of the sheep.
Watching people with the dog I never saw the glider until the last second, the camera did though.

Watching through the GoPro's lens you would think it would be obvious to have spotted the glider earlier, but the wide angle lens deceives. It gave me a bit of a moment as it flew over at the last second. This is Yorkshire Gliding Club up on Sutton Bank.

Between Sutton Bank and Thirsk is a village with quite a long name, Sutton Under Whitestonecliffe. Wonder if people who live there get fed up when they have to put their address on forms.

Cheers John, I remember taking to the air over that bridge in my younger days, not intentionally, but had a safe landing.

Thumbnail says you're going (too?) S L O W. In the US, road painting says S T O P. When you're about to stop, one can finally read ahead: A H E A D. 😅
In UK we don't have as many STOP signs at road junctions as you do in the US. White double broken lines at road junctions tell motorists to GIVE WAY to traffic on the major road, but if it's clear you can just drive/ride round, no need to stop. I've driven in the US, always find all the stop starts at junctions a bit annoying ( not used to them ), over here we have more roundabouts that let the traffic flow better.. 🙂

I saved a few of your videos to watch later, and then forgot them. Beauty is so rare these days. I'm glad this video was recommended in my YT home today. Thank you for your lovely comment, it's very much appreciated. I love being out on my motorbike. I mainly ride on an evening when the roads are quieter and the sun is low in the sky giving that extra special glow to everything. Thanks again and I hope you continue to enjoy my videos.

A little further up the hill near the top of Thorpe Bassett Wold where a tree line meets the road is another favourite 'tripod' spot. Lovely rolling fields north & south. Season coming to a close now, looking forward to coming back down. Cheers man

If you see your caravan start to swày from side to side which you will also feel through the steering just take your foot off the throttle and do not brake it should sort itself out 😊

how do you fix this?
Hi, wish I knew. I believe the turning off is caused by vibration, ( my bike is a single cylinder which causes more vibration than multi cylinder bikes ). I noticed when moving the camera from handlebar to wing mirror mount it cuts out less often, also the camera is more likely to cut out when at higher speeds. Possibly a vibration damper mount would solve the problem. Insta sell theirs for just over £50 but at that price I am not prepared to gamble and try it. Sorry I can't help, I just find the Insta360 ONE x2 too unreliable for using on a motorcycle, at least on my motorcycle. My first Insta360 ONE x2 was sent back because it was even worse. Insta was good doing the free replacement although my camera had to be posted to China first.

I usually join next junction up from Barton Hill, not many cars use it and at least you can look down the hill for a break in the traffic before launching. Then its first right for Kikham and I am ready to explore. Cheers
When I go Kirkham way I go one junction further along to you and join the A64 half way up Whitwell, not saying it's better, as it does make it slightly harder to pick up speed. I just don't like riding on the A64 dual carriage way at 70mph with the G310R, it has no problem going 70, it's just too noisy for me. On todays ride I was turning off at Leisure World caravan place heading towards Howsham and on. 🙂
