Have you made any of the new Z Design - they claim they work better than the cloverleaf design by giving the fish a more open entrance pathway and easier to remove the fish?
Got the same design from a guy in the Netherlands like 10 years ago. Worked great. Used a #10 ss bowl topped it with a 4to1 exhaust flange to mount the unit to the keg boiler. It cleaned up very easy as well. Nice job.
What is the type of wire you use. I use mesh that rusts too soon.
That is the same thing I was wondering about - it looks a lot heavier than chicken wire or hardware cloth.
I spray mine with a rubber coating similar to that flex seal stuff.... a lite coat will go a ways for saving the metal and they also sell coated mesh for these reasons, but I would just spray it...plus that spray comes in handy for tons of other things...

Should be where the rounded lobes come together - but it does not show to be spread open in the video. Most places that describe the Cloverleaf Bait Trap will usually give size hole for different states. Different states have different specifications for legal hole size and total trap size.
How much did that whole roll cost u?
It will depend on the total width and the larger length the cheaper it is per foot. The wire comes in 6 inch lengths after one foot and can go up to six feet wide two foot size and 30 inch widths are probably the most used. Decide the size and google search it 3/4 mesh poultry wire or 1/2 square mesh Hardware Cloth. I use Tractor Supply,Atwoods Farm and Ranch or Ebay sometimes is cheaper. If you use Ebay use the Buy It Now option and Price plus Shipping Lowest First when you do a search and use U.S. Only since over seas shipping would be very expensive.

Should be where the rounded lobes come together - but it does not look like they have been opened up. Some State Wildlife Departments will provide the plans with the Legal Bait Trap Demensions for that state on their website.
Hmm..not to burst your bubble, but what you made is a cooling managment design. This particular design is inferior. You hardly get any reflux going in there with those two pipes through the column. Not to mention cleaning or getting the column packing out again.. Basicaly you can only use it as a potstill and make some whiskey on it, the control of the Liebig condenser would be difficult due to the pipes going across the column.

How long does it take to make a batch of shine?
I got my still made and I've been running it for about the last 2 months. I'm getting about 150 proof but only getting a quart and a half of shine from 5 gallons of wash. Am I doing something wrong or is this all I'm going to get?
You should get more than that, 4 quarts or so. 150 proof pretty good, got 170 out of this one. I suspect you are running too hot or have leaks. Top of column should be about 170 degrees while running. More packing in the column will up the alcohol content. Remember slow and easy does it should take several hours to run a batch.
You do know to throw some away at the beginning of your run don't you? It seems as though you have put the cart before the mule as far as making alcohol before making a safe to drink alcohol. (I'm not trying to be mean). One would have to know their starting abv% and their ending abv% in order to calculate approximately what your yeild could be. If you want to make good shine don't get greedy with your time or mateirials and make sure you are doing the right research. I hate to say it but RUclips is full of some terrible misinformation that will get you way down the wrong road before you realize it.
Nice design I like the I like the automatic door nice and if you need to explain how to use this trap they probably shouldnt even build it just tell them what kind of Bait do you use what works best for perch or spot and they swim in through those 4 doors in the middle of the cage Have you ever tried cat food it works whats your favorite cat food too use dry or the can what brand flavor chicken flavor can works in the crab cage too just bust holes in the can

Is this design from the Building a Home Distillation Apparatus. I have the step by step guide but had a few questions that your video just answered. If it is I'd like to ask you a few more questions.
It is one inch mesh PVC coated. Comes in a 24" wide roll, I forget how many feet. It's a bunch, made 25 traps from each roll.
