Awesome! Pleasing cam sound.. you did a great job building this truck.
54 is a great year .1 piece windshield, vent windows and push button door handles.
Can't bleeve how rusty that southern truck is, looks like it came from snow belt.😮
good luck great truck.
I have a 52 love them
Another rich boy going after another old track let somebody else
Huh?
Awesome! Thanks for sharing
Did you have to take the rear fenders off to remove the bed or can they be left on and the bed removed?
Well I’m taking down my 50’ Chevy look almost identical to yours. I’m excited to watch parts 3 and any others you have coming out.
What happened to Part 3??
Life lol hoping to get back to it somebody. For right now, it’s just sitting in the back corner
Are you sure it’s a 54 noticed it has an open drive shaft like the 55 first series do. Great truck!
Use crc freeze off the next time
Hi we have a 1950 3100 we are doing up. Still trying to remove body parts to transfer to another custom frame. Thanks for the help.
Where can I find the shifter boot 54 Chevy coe? Do you know a place? Ty
WHY??????? Replace the wood in the back and just drive it! Ruined....
Why? Because it’s my truck lol and how exactly is it ruined? The plan was to put it on a s10 frame, which will ride, handle, and drive a lot better than what’s under it currently
My dad owns one he's trying to restore his two
Need more 54 content!
I wish I could bring you more
Congrats.👍 I had a '54 for 20 years (83-03). Aside from saying congrats I only have 2 things to say...... What frame/chassis are going to use (or are using if you're done with it)?... And I seen in another comment that you said that you paid "5" for the truck. Sure hope you meant $500 & not $5000, considering the amount of body work needed.😁
Secondary comment...... The 54 that I had, the stock frame was broken. Since I was going to somewhat modernize the suspension anyway, I wound up putting a mid-70s C10 frame/chassis under it. Went with a '66 283 V8 & 4spd. Modified the '70s leaf spring and shock mounts for better fitment issues. Took tank out of the cab & fabricated my own tank that mounted under the bed, between the frame rails.
Nice 👍 truck 🛻
Just throw a sheet of plywood in the back and keep on truckin...
my dad has parts to one or a 55 i dont know but it is all their except the motor chassie and cab all panels and other are there and i would love to see it run one last ride
Yup, I’m just starting my 51 and would like to see more of what you have done
U gotta use KROIL. MAN
Put your WD-40 away for squeaky hinges and mix up a 50-50 batch of Acetone and Automatic Transmission fluid.. it will make WD-40 look like water 💧... But give it time to soak in.. hope to see this when you're done.. love those 54's...
Hey AD. Your SS sounds and looks awesome. Thanks for sharing.🍁👍👍
Thank you!! 🙌🏼
Get after sir. I restarted my '54 project recently and am excited to be working on it, again. Thanks for the encouragement.
maybe nut splitter?
When you coming back
Looks like a lot of toys around that place.
Before you cut bolts, try heating them to red hot, that usually works
I have a 54, and it is closed drive shaft. My understanding is that the early 55 models were identical in exterior looks to the 54's but had open drive shafts. I noticed that you have an open drive shaft on yours, are you sure it is a 54?
You are correct that the 54s had torque tube still, and 1st Series '55s had open driveline. It's possible that somewhere in this truck's past someone swapped out differentials.since all the mounts would be the same, it would've been a simple thing to do.....That being said, the side emblems are definitely 54.
@@willhorting5317 however the hood emblem has the blue bowtie and a white (1955.1) emblem I believe.
@@georgekininmonth2070 are you referring to the truck in the video? Or First Series '55 truck emblems in general? If referring to the emblems in general...I don't recall the minute details on the front emblem. However, all '55.1 side emblems had chrome over black background.
I'm also waiting for part three. I'm wanting to see how you go about removing the steering column from the steering box.
Aerokroil works best.
Well it was a good start but where is part 3? I would love to see the progress!
Use a heating coil for your rusted bolts so it comes off easier
Thank you! 💪🏼
Where did you go
Hoping to start back on it in the next few weeks! We just finished building our house at the end of last year, so I was distracted from it lol
PB bolt blast. Words way better than WD
Awesome I’ll try that out next time! 💪🏼
hate it when you come across a video your interested in then they stop making the videos ...
Hopefully getting back on it soon. We just finished building our house at the end of last year. Hoping to start back on the truck in the next few weeks
"hate it when".....Ah, the torment of today's immediate gratification syndrome. It's too bad that so many people refuse to allow for the fact that many times fun projects have to be set aside while the more important life things are taken care of. AD's Garage, I too am following these videos. However I am old enough and mature enough to wait. 😎
WD-40 is for squeaky hinges.. Put it away and make up a 50-50 mixture of Acetone and Automatic Transmission fluid.. Let it soak a few hours before putting a wrench 🔧 to it... It will make WD-40 look like water...Maybe it will keep you from twisting off so many bolts... Good luck.. Love those 54's...
S-10 frame would be one of the easier routes to take.. Love those 54's.. not many around...
I have the same year and model that has to be frame swapped
Get the 504 kit...
Is the nova still for sale ?
It’s sold sorry
I bought a 55 series one, basically the same truck. I'll be watching and subscribed.
55 Chevy 3100 awesome! Hopefully we can get back working on it soon!
love the patina!
bogart pogi thank you!
I just got one of these bad boys. Where is the vin number on it?? Any information would be appreciated! Thanks
Justin Hebert mine is on the inside of the drivers door
@@adsgarage7640 Thanks!
Justin Hebert no problem!
They didn’t have to take the fenders off they could have kept them on to take off the bed I have the same truck and I’m working on it now
Marcuss Flores we just figured we would go ahead and take them off while we were at it. They have a few small rust spots that need to be fixed on them, and the only way to get to them is with the fenders removed from the bed
I like the 73 Camaro - is it for sale?
Ruben Castillo thank you! No it is not, sorry. It was my dad’s and he gave it to me
Part threeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee......
Craig Loeffen I need to get back on it! Lol
What happened bro ?!
Abdulla x273 been busy building a house man! Hoping to jump back on it in the next few months!
AD’s Garage good luck man cant wait to see it back to life✌️
Abdulla x273 thank you!
Very cool truck. Just found your channel and I am looking forward to seeing how it comes out. Best of luck.
David Goodnight thank you! I hope to get back on it soon!
