How many can you count? I counted 18 total. About 5 faint, 7 medium, 6 bright. 2 planes toward the end (blinking lights). Meteors are visible typically as a line appearing faint, brighter, faint . It probably would have been a bit more impressive if I disabled the "star trails" effect. It was too cold in Raleigh to be outside all night, so I used hyperlapse mode. Galaxy S 23 Ultra short time lapse of of the conjunction with the Moon and Venus. Pure luck that a meteor happened to transit the moon at the 4 second mark.

Taken early this morning. Although not easy to see, the airplane appears at 19 second mark, meteor at the 20 second mark.

Apparently, he was trying to do a hummingbird impression ;-) Although I would doubt he's also able to fly backwards! Taken today with my phone (Samsung Galaxy S 23 Ultra).

I used my smart phone to get the sky from my backyard (and, at least on this day we never actually got a drop of rain).

It was a bit too far away, and too dark to keep in focus.

Mike Barnicle, a Boston journalist and Morning Joe contributor, equated Willie Geist's inspiring NYC marathon performance of 3 hours, 58 minutes to Roger Banister (who was the first person to break the 4-minute mile).
