William and I want to know what the buffalo wallow was for. Were they scratching their backs or what?
Steve says cows often roll in the dirt or mud to cake themselves with dust so that flies and parasites won't bother them so much. I assume buffalo would do the same.
William says he has seen one. Ryan and A have one. Probably not that big though. Neat gadget.

When started to mow h way with sycle mower they didn’t have motore on as that one does. The mower was powered by the wheels turning the gears to run the sycle.. but the real old way of mowing was with a hand sycthe.

How do you tell Cocklebur from Burdock? They seem very similar in pictures. But one is a blessed plant with wonderful uses and the other doesn't seem to have any use...
I honestly have never heard of burdock. And I’ve never considered cockleburs to be a blessing!😮
NO. You misunderstood. Burdock is an amazing plant. People used it for all kinds of positive things. NOT cocklebur. @@borninabarn8450

Thanks so much! Those are Quonset huts that were made for Calves. A Dairy went out of business several years ago and we bought them from them.

I like those names! Someone suggested calling the white faced one Oreo. With the girls think about that? We could call one of the blacks Smokey and the other pumpkin?

Where did Dad have that sheller? Did he use it for his popcorn? I remember the one Grandpa had in the barn.
I honestly don’t remember him using it since I probably wasn’t at home with the time. I would assume he used it for popcorn.
