Berryhill Farm
США
Добавлен 9 апр 2020
We are a family of 7 living on a 20 acre farm doing our best to be good stewards our land, while also cultivating ways to make our backyard work for US. We raise cattle, hogs, meat chickens quail, pigeons, GSP dogs, and of course our laying hens. We also have 4 acres of u-pick berries open 8 weeks out of the year.
Jesus is King around here.
We school our kiddos right here at home and all six of us never stop learning. Homesteading is our passion and we hope to bring a little bit of light to each person who watches our channel.

FALL Garlic Planting With Vegega Raised Bed
Просмотров 169Месяц назад
Today we are setting up our new Vegega garden bed! They were so generous to send us an L shaped metal bed to try out. A few reasons we said yes and are excited to try it: - Nontoxic paint/materials used - 20 life expectancy for each bed - 17" high - great for harvesting and weeding - Warms the soil sooner - Great quality for the price! Check out their website for all they have to offer! Vegega ...
HELENE hits the farm! Let's check for damage

We came home from vacation amidst the tropical storm Helene. A huge tree fell across our driveway and partially in the road so that was one of the first things on the list to take care of. Our thoughts go out to the communities further south who suffered so much more damage. 💔 Follow us on social media! Instagram: berryhillfarmxenia Facebook: berryhillfarmxenia Web: w...
250 Meat Birds... How hard can it be?!
Просмотров 11 тыс.Месяц назад
In today's video we are going to show you exactly how we raise our meat birds. We do batches of 250 at a time because we sell them here on our farm. We keep about 75-100 for ourselves, and the rest are sold to customers. This process only take about 7 weeks of our time, and only 4 at most being outside moving the chicken tractors. 10% off garden beds: www.vegega.com/?ref=htsouwqi Follow us on s...

7 Reasons we GAVE UP over 21k in Revenue!!!

We used to do a CSA program here on our farm and fed over 60 families each week. It generated a good amount of income. All at once, all in January. In this video we explain the main reasons we quit doing the CSA program - which also meant we gave up that cash at the start of the year. www.berryhillfarm.net Instagram: @berryhillfarmxenia Facebook: Berryhill Farm

Watch Us Install a GREENHOUSE Heater!
Looks like you certainly have done a lot of feather trimming! It takes two of us to get it done, lol
My husband has years experience LOL
You all have a great family!😇!😇!😇!😇!😇!
😊😊❤❤
Tip, you can avoid the electric fencing by buying and installing solar powered motion lights. I have a minimum of two on each tractor. If predators come around, the lights turn on and scare them off. You can also use a solar powered outdoor AM radio and keep it on. In terms of feeding, you have to be careful over feeding broilers. They can gain weight faster than their legs develop, resulting in broken legs or a lethargic chicken. Broilers can also die of heart issues if over fed. Chicken tractors look good. I use the Joel Salatin version due to high winds in central Texas. Best of luck.
Whats better male or female?
@@Dazuaparaelmun2 either. Males do get a bit bigger. Just preference
loose the music way to loud
@@farmer998 there's a volume button 😅
Impressive harvest!
If you were feeding 60 families, how much money did they pay you?
Because they made it illegal you can't even collect rainwater anymore
Sadly you're right. Wonder why the healthy, self-sustaining things are "illegal". 🤔
Oh no I can exist in a developed society
Not sure your direction here
Just love how the children are involved, amazing harvest. New friend here from Growing My Own.
@@growingmyown thanks! And thanks for being here! 😃
Great video. Do you need liability insurance to sell poultry from your farm.
@@fidelsseecoomar3279 we have it because we are a upick berry farm anyway, but I think I still would purchase it. It's pretty inexpensive
You can add 2 inch wheels two each at the center and on the front and back side below, so you can make the tractor move easily. Extend the same chicken wire covering the wheels, so the chicks do ot slip from below.
Nice
Subbed from one new creator to another
wow, so many potatoes, wish your family lots of health ❤
Thanks!👍
Leuk al veel Aardappel uit de grond kunnen Halen
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Glad everyone was safe with only minimal damage!
I don't have the market yet to sell a lot of birds but my first batch is underway. Here in Italy it's difficult to find young chicks so I had to settle for 1 month old birds. Today I did find someone where I could buy 1 week old chicks for the next batch, they don't sell day old because every chick has to be vaccinated here.
oh interesting! what breed did you get?
also hi Italy! my family is from Sicily :)
@@berryhillfarmxenia Should come over sometime to see your ancestral lands. We moved here from the US in October of '21.
My great great grandfather is italian. I am from Meghalaya India. I also am a farmer.

Temperature?
for roasting? I keep my oven around 150-200 degrees if I roast overnight. I sometimes go higher if I want to roast during the day in a quicker time period. :)
I thought I would like to operate a CSA until I grew a home garden for 2-3 years. Ideal/dream vs reality. Growing enough for my family's needs for the year is enough work for me.
@@Boringcountrylife there are some farms who do this successfully! We did up until doing 60 families. But we hit a point where we either needed to go big, or go home.
Love seeing the changes and transformations you do every year. Looks like the hoophouse is going to bring a new element to the farm. Can’t wait to see y’all later this year, a special trip up from Mowrystown.
We are excited to transform it this year! Looking forward to it!
