The 24 books I read in 2024
Просмотров 241День назад
Welcome to my 2024 reading wrap up! I think it's important to note that it's okay to not have read as much as you set out to read this year - life happens and not everyone has the time or brain power. I read 24 books ranging from some of my most anticipated reads (Iron flame, Bunny etc) to light hearted romance (Beach read). This year, I'm hoping to consume more intentionally and buy books that...

girl ur so relatable i love ur videos
@@jessielaurente ahhhh thank you so much🥹💕
this was really helpful thank you. i’m planning on going to washington state for 3 weeks this summer and am also only using a 40L!!🤗🤗
I'm glad it was helpful!! Washington state looks beautiful you will have so much fun:)
Finally someone who separated liquids and packed realistic items! Thank you for the amazing video!
I'm glad you liked it<3

first POGGERS
i adore that green top! wheres it from?? ☺️
it's from garage! A couple years ago now but they have similar ones!
🍫💓
Trop beau ton appart!!
Damn Crazy!
my australian mind cannot comprehend all dressed and dill pickle as chip flavours haha 🧛
Haha they are so good! Australia must have some fun flavours too! 🧛♀
🧛🏼♀
It really depends where in European countries you go,but I do not recommend very revealing or mini tops that show a lot of skin in Europe or U.K. as the locals do not do that even for clubbing night time there .Maybe only at clubbs in London ? 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
I had no issues at all! That is a good point though:)
@laynaturgeon Yes,they don't make a fuzz of it ,but you can get stared at or giving you a dirty look ! Europeans are more conservative when it comes to fashion in general. Not like here in L.A.! Also, they don't wear yoga pants or workout outfits to cafes & restaurants or college sweatshirts everywhere like Americans do ! Lol. That's how you identify yourself in a crowd as American or a tourist ! Often ,unwanted attentions from scammers & pick pockets ! I had European ,British boyfriends in the past & Italian friends ,they told me they (women in their countries )didn't wear things I was wearing here in Los Angeles. Some Italian ladies looked at me funny.Thank you so much for your reply ! 💜
That doesn't look like 40 L in this video !! Lol. You did what I'm gonna try in the very near future !! 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
I’m just now watching this and I would love to see an after vlog.. what worked what didn’t work, if you felt underdressed what you wished you had.. etc a pack review, did you run out of space..
I have another video talking about what I wish I knew before backpacking! It doesn't touch on those exact points but it definitely is a good tip video! Overall I did feel like I packed well, the only thing I wish I had was another jacket:) Space wasn't an issue for me either!
2:05 the book is in Polish:) can't tell you how surprised i was to see it there lol
Polish was my other guess!! That's so fun that there is so much diversity in books when going to little libraries!!
What’s it called?!
Cafe Alphabet!!
such a relaxing vid, the space is so cozy! i got so hyped when i saw you looking at intermezzo im reading it now its such a good book haha
Thank you! Trying to get the cozy vibes going haha. I'm so excited to read intermezzo - definitely going to be getting it asap:)
OMG! That copy of Handmaid's Tale is stunning!!! What a FIND!
RIGHT?! I was shook
Glad to see new video 🙂 look forward to new content!! Hope all is well with the apartment.
also do you speak french in Montreal or you just speak English? :)
Both French and English!
omg finally you're back!! moving to Montreal is such a dream!! wishing you the absolute best!! hope you can post more often because i love your videos!! greetings from Spain!!
thank you! I'm hoping to post more consistently now that I'm in a routine:)
This summer i was in Germany, Czchec republic, Austria, Italy, France, Belgium and the netherlands! However next summer I'll be going to Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Austria (different city), Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Greece (specifically where they recorded mamma mia the movie), Croatia, Slovenia, Switzerland, Italy (different city), France (same there), Spain, London, Dublin and maybe somewhere else in the UK, before the netherlands (another city) and lastly Hamburg in Germany! I love ur video!!<333
Oh my gosh - you've been living my travel dreams! And thank you!♥️
Great selection of little free libraries and looked like a lot of fun. Tiffany Phlanx's Marketing Specialist
@@tiffanyharrison21 such a fun activity to do!
Great video!! New to you. Hey can you tell me what the girl in historical green dress book is called? It's the last one you went to. My data speed makes it blurry to read.
@@julieslifeandjoys1543 thank you! Happy to have you here:) The book is called The Venetian Bargain by Marina Fiorato !
@@laynaturgeon thank you.
solid tips >>
that version of the handmaid's tale is to die for!!! soooo pretty!!
@@fahimahr right?!? Crazy someone gave it away!
I'm planning on buying Lush bar hair products as well! Did they get weird at all from sitting in those containers?
@@jungwonsgarden4574 I just would leave the container slightly open so they would dry out after and they worked great for the whole trip!
Loved the capsule wardobe! I’m a packing video enthusiast heh and this one was was really really good!
@@momentmemos ahhh thank you so much😆 I thought about it for way too long haha
Slay ❤
Love that handmaids tale edition
I was so shocked to find that edition!
you should go get Finlay Donovan is killing it from the first one!! I haven't read it yet, but I know people have said good things about it!! loved the video ◡̈
I will have to check it out! And thank you so much❤
that one Nicholas Sparks book in 2:08 is actually in Polish ^^, also, amazing video <3
Thanks for letting me know aha I had no idea😆 and thank you 💞
such an interesting video!!! you deserve to be popular girl🫶🏻 also i with we had these cute mini libraries in the place where i live
Thank you so much💗 Little libraries are such a fun idea - I hope it becomes more common where you live!
I got a cultural shock from these book houses. Wow how cool, thanks for the video🥰
Glad you liked the video!! It's so common in Canada to have these little libraries, what country do you live in? (if you don't mind me asking)
@@laynaturgeon I live in a small Russian village haha but yesterday, thanks to your video, I remembered about my village library. It turned out that there was a shelf with a book exchange 🥰🥰🥰 I exchanged a local novel for the first edition (in Russian exactly) "I Was Born For This" Alice Oseman!!! I was very happy💖 considering that due to censorship in Russia since 2022 year(???) You can 't sell books with a this theme (((
@@biryucha I'm glad the video sparked that idea and you got a good book out of it! I hope the book exchange shelf can continue to get you access to different types of literature☺
such a good vid! i wish i had as many libraries near me as you do! i swear half of them are filled with books in foreign languages hahaha
Thank you! That means so much to me:) and I had so many near me I was so shocked!! Little libraries are becoming more popular so hopefully you get some more fun ones 😄
I’m going to Hungary, Slovakia, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands in September! I’m bringing my Vessis too, I love them!
That is such an awesome itinerary! September is a great month too because high season will be on the come down:) And omg so happy you love the shoes too!
I'd like to see you go thru the clothing you took and detail whether you wore it, how much you wore it, whether you'd take it again. Basically the pros and cons of everything you took
Honestly I feel like there is a few items I didn't wear as much because I was fortunate enough to be staying with my friend who had extra clothes for me to wear (don't know if my recommendation will be accurate because of this) - I would pack one less dress next time though and an extra layering piece instead!
@@laynaturgeon ah yes, things do tend to be different if we're visiting friends or family (or travelling with friends or family)
@@susie9893 for sure! overall I think I packed well - I definitely did some laundry for sure though!
@@laynaturgeon that's how I travel light. Part of my itinerary planning is based around the need to be handwashing regularly throughout the trip (eg. at least 2 nights at every stop to ensure things have time to dry - I try not to handwash the night before a travel day); and if I'm traveling longer than a month (which I usually am) I plan to have access to a washing machine somewhere in there - family, friends, B&B, affordable laundromat (I'm hugely into planning and research - that's part of the fun for me with travel now; altho when I was young I just barely did any research - you live, you learn)
@@susie9893 that's awesome! Planning the trip is half the fun to me haha. And great idea for hand washing with time to dry!
Thanks sm for your tips and travel videos, they’ve been really helpful! I’m going to Greece, Italy and Ireland!!
I'm glad my videos were helpful!! I appreciate the feedback:) And oh my goodness those are bucket list places - so happy for you!
Did the waterproof fanny pack worked?
Yes it did!
Good to know ,right !? 👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
@@laynaturgeonNice !! 👍👍💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
do you have any tips to prevent my clothes from wrinkling? I don't have any sprays, or anything I can take with me on my trip but my clothes wrinkle a lot.
To be completely honest - the best bet is probably just taking clothes that don't hold wrinkles easily and hanging clothes in the washroom when you shower so the steam helps any wrinkles! 😃
@@laynaturgeonOkay thank you!
Yes,shower steams !! Lol. Rayon, viscose & polyester usually are better choices ! But,be careful about " wrinkles free "clothes as they're treated w formaldehyde. 💜🥁🐉🎤🎶💞
going to 1.Berlin 2.Krakow 3.Budapest 4.Lake Bled, Slovenia 5. Duborvnik, Croatia under a month to go, can't wait
That’s such a good itinerary !! So excited for you😁
@@bethanjoseph6465 that's a busy trip. You should be enjoying it by now though
going in a month for a month! UK, Scotland, Italy, Austria, Germany and Denmark!
a whole month is awesome! I absolutely need to go to the UK and Scotland next time around!! You will love it:)
Lately I’ve been doing a lot of traveling. I make sure to either get or send postcards. It’s been my favorite thing to do!!!
such an inexpensive and meaningful souvenir !
@@rlm8291 I know a few people who like to post postcards to themselves. They treat it like a travel diary they don't have to carry with them (plus it can be fun negotiating another country's postal service; or stressful. Either way, it's a cultural experience). And then they get home and they have all these lovely memories of their trip in the mail 😊
Going this summer!!!!
so excited for you!!
hey, I’m heading out backpacking this summer too!! I was just wondering what size bag you had and what opinions you have around that?? Some people say to get 50-65 litres, is that too much ?!
Personally I had plenty of room with 40L, I highly recommend to plan for a couple laundry trips though! I also did have a foldable daypack that I would put in front of me when I wanted to have easy to reach items:) I do recommend packing as lightly as you can because otherwise it will get quite heavy!
Not backpacking to Europe, but this was such a fun video! I just got back from a life changing Montreal/Quebec trip, and I agree with a lot of what you said :) I actually prefer travelling in spring/autumn to avoid crowds and would love to go to europe next spring :))
I absolutely love Montreal!! I'm glad you found the video fun, thank you! And yes I want to travel in low season more but it always ends up I can only travel during high season haha😂 And you will love Europe if you go I'm sure
@@paulinetayag9758 I did them last December. Was magical 🤩 (freezing, but magical)
how were the birkenstocks for your trip? i just finished watching your packing video and I've been trying to look for some sandals that are comfortable for walking lots of hours in case I don't feel like wearing my shoes and also waterproof for hostals. Thanks!
The birkenstocks were awesome for beach days and I didn't have any discomfort when wearing them for an entire day:) I will say for most of the trip I was wearing sneakers though and didn't find myself needing to wear sandals which was great for all the uneven cobblestone streets!
@@laynaturgeon do you think the birkes would be uncomfy on cobblestone, just wondering since id like to have a pair of sandals I can wear during really hot days
@@CarlitaCarlota my birkies have performed well on cobblestones streets in the past but now they've pretty much had it - wears them thin a lot quicker (and I'm not willing to pay the big bucks for any more now that they're no longer doing them with the cork sole)
I’m off to vienna, budapest, prague, berlin, amsterdam & paris this summer!! can’t wait :)
That is so awesome! You're going to have an awesome time! I definitely need to see Amsterdam next time I'm in Europe!!!
Nice video ! How can i connect you if I have any questions?
Thank you! and comments are usually the best place to ask me questions 😄
@@laynaturgeon i have started my own channel and I needed tips regarding that only, that's why i asked ! Btw thanks alot
@@RAHULSS31 Oh of course! Honestly the best tips I have are to stay authentic and be consistent if you can!
@@laynaturgeon in how much time you completed your 1k subs?
@@RAHULSS31 about 4 months but that is mostly because I had one video preform really well:)
