      @CatnamedMittens only for a moment. I refunded it because I wanted more direct control over building placement. Maybe I judged the game too harshly, though. I might give it another chance in the future.

      @Luigi_Mario_1997 i guess I didn't share my exact reason for doing so. I wanted to be able to guarantee 100% that I would be able to have the entire population in the well off class. Hiring a ton of people for parking decks was going to really drag that down since the maximum wage is under $10 a month. If the max wage for the building would have been $10 a month, then I 100% would have left the cars as the main trasportation.

    37:14 what do you look for when you decide you need more teamsters?

      I feel that generalizing in this game is usually the best method. With teamsters, I go around to various production buildings and industry buildings, and I look at their output storage. If I spot a couple with 500-1000 units sitting around, then I'll make a new one. Sometimes, you'll just have the intuition as well. Like if I make a bunch of new farms, you'll probably want a new teamster building or two. I would say that it's better to need a few more than to have a few too many. If you have too many, then you might start losing money and not gain anything. If you need a couple more, you'll be lagging a bit, but you'll still be making near maximum profit. With time, you'll start to pick up on when exactly you probably need new buildings. In short though, just check output storages and use that as a gauge. 😄

      @@CatnamedMittens It all comes down to moving your goods around. If stuff is piling up, you probably should build some more. I would say for the budgets; the biggest thing is that you'll usually have a lot of teamsters, and their entire wages can be manipulated by you. You can make a lot of people poor or well-off. The budget doesn't matter too much. I would say that it would be best to determine what you want their wages to be early on then build as many as you need from that point. The second shifts upgrade actually costs more money than it does to create a whole new building. I would say that it is generally not worth it until you run out of space for new offices. Path wise, I would say just make sure they are close enough to your population to allow workers to reach them and to allow them to reach their destinations. 😄 glad to hear that people take interest in Tropico!     When should you use and not use local consumption?

      @CatnamedMittens you could permanently leave it on in pretty much all cases. The only people who need it are going to be unemployed Tropicans. I'll specifically turn it off when I want to force people to use groceries or shopping malls. Still, only people with jobs will be able to use those stores. Check the service quality of your farms, and it should be like 45, I think. Which means that if your entire population uses farms for food, they will have an average food happiness of 45. But if they all use grocery stores and you get those stores up to a service quality of 100, then you'll have an average food happiness of 100. Hope that helps some! 😄

    Can you make a city with 1 side being residental and stats restore only buildings and other industry & tourism only, you can do it with bus stations, set to free ride, paid just makes them less effective? Its possible to have sustainable economy even if you build residental area & industry/tourism far away You can build bus network, i think it crowds logistics way less than cars true communist city

      I'm not sure honestly. I felt that for a really good communist island, mixing in the industrial buildings amongst the rest of all of the other buildings was a good move. Everyone would get to walk around through the plazas and as long as waste management was up to par, then there would never be too much pollution, even if you lived right next door to a steel mill. There is an infinite amount of creative ways to set islands up. I don't think monetary gain is the hallmark of success. The best way to play is to create something you like!       @stackingmodifiers2465 Agreed i run dictatorship with martial law and right to arms to negate liberty drain i tried staying in 1 era for so long ran prohibition and stuff i used buses to connect 2 islands its a really nice game create what you want be it democracy or dictatorship, have you tried multiplayer? I don't like how multiplayer is competetive even in coop for example if you have higher overall happiness than your friend he will have less approval until you both get to max happiness id wish multiplayer had more coop features.

I have a discord server for my channel but I never really set it up all the way. I think I might do that later today. It would be cool to have people join and play tropico or maybe share their creations!

      @JeremyVizcarra Yes! You can. The only reason that I never do it is because the buildings will have the same foot print minus the field. So in the end, I would still have to relocate the buildings. Not sure which is cheaper but I usually just pay for a hydroponic plantation outright and come up with a good spot for it on the fly.       @PJMack10 I've only barely scratched the surface of this game and I have never watched any sort of video. Currently I'm marching into uncharted territory for myself. I hope that I don't end up shooting myself in the foot but my goal is to at least make it to sol 100 and get the USA achievement.     Nice island! I legit cant wait for you to see the benefits of staying in the first era and snowballing lol. It forces you to use all the land space and islands effectively to fit everything even on a Huge map. When you snowball (acquire millions in the Colonial Era) you also dominate and dictate the market for every good you trade because to get that much money you have to export at massive rates. 5-6 docks early game pushing $20,000+ valuables each is a minimum.

      Be sure to stack goods at storage buildings, cut off the supply of a good you export heavily and then wait until the price spikes on the market and export all the storage at once to maximize profits. Its early market manip.

      @@stackingmodifiers2465 one last tip id say is to make sure you have a ton of logging camps, even on other islands connected via teamster ports that are feeding your Toy Companies/Lumber Mills constantly. Make sure you put 1 teamsters office set to directly take goods from each Toy Company/Lumber Mill to the Docks on Emergency routes so it doesnt clog up. You can even save up the Planks from here in Storage Buildings and then when you build Shipyards they’ll be filled to the brim with material right away

      It only costs like 35-40 USD to get the rest of the DLC. I will buy them Friday and start checking out the rest of the stuff. I'll probably do my next playthrough with all of them enabled and maybe even make a guide covering all of the new stuff! 😄

    Your economy doesn't look very strong at the moment. Your income is too low compared to your yearly expenses, and the traffic jams might be contributing to this issue. The efficiency of your industry depends on the following factors: 1. How much time employees waste outside the factory. 2. How much time teamsters waste outside their office. 3. How much time teamsters waste during transportation. For points 1 and 2, as long as workers have housing and amenities near their workplace, you're in good shape. Prioritize teamsters since factory workers can compensate with double shifts if needed. For point 3, it’s about distribution. Ideally, industries should be spread across different parts of the town to ensure they take separate routes for different goods. Additionally, block all exports by unchecking them. Over time, if there’s no local demand for a good, teamsters won’t waste time transporting unnecessary items. However, if you have a trade route, goods will still be exported even if they’re unchecked for export. Setting teamsters to the maximum budget is inefficient. Even at the minimum payout, they can transport up to 1,300 goods using the "Loose Load" option. This is practical because most of the time, they won’t be carrying maximum loads anyway. Finally, aim to complete a "Custom Office" trade route within 60 months. This ensures you have enough time to accumulate 10,000 goods for the next shipment cycle.

    Great videos but bro you gotta stay in the Colonial era for a longer amount of time. Stack up millions there and then progress and the game is totally different to play. It snowballs into every era.

      Yeah you are right, I usually just jump to the next era immediately. I like to make it to the modern times era quickly so I can start building up the final build of the island. But sometimes that thought pops into my head. Like what if I was to flash out the entire island before moving onto later eras? I'll probably do this on my next series! Thanks for the comment 😄

    Another thing about the media buildings because I'm 90% sure I'm right about this lol. Once you successfully influence someone they become part of the die hards for that particular faction. However diehards themselves cannot be influenced which is why the tropicans can only be influenced once. That's the point of the Bradenburg Gate world wonder which removes diehards making it easier to do propaganda. Another thing is if your using propaganda for say the communists then your directly pulling from the non diehards in the capitalist faction. It has no impact on any of the other factions. So once say it's only diehard capitalists the propaganda won't work anymore

I'll start up an island with the lowest population, name some people and test how a newspaper works on them. I'll respond to a comment with the results soon.       @@stackingmodifiers2465 I can confirm that media propaganda primarily converts people from the "rival" faction. For example, Capitalists to Communists, Religious to Militarists, Environmentalists to Industrialists, or Intellectuals to Conservatives. When you use propaganda, it moves individuals into the "die-hard" category of their faction, making them resistant to further conversion. If you focus propaganda on only one faction-for instance, Communists-you will end up with mostly die-hard Communists, very few Capitalists, and about half of the members of each other faction shifting toward Communism but without many die-hards. (Apparently, a citizen can belong to up to four factions.)

      @antontorres9927 Yeah, that would be a good goal to aim for. It would probably be something that I tack on near the end. Currently, I'm getting like 150k a year off rents though. Turning on free housing now would flounder the island sadly. Once everything is up and running and I'm near the end of the series, I'll probably be able to set it up no problem.

      @@SteezyRedStars to me, the biggest thing is to have the entire population in the same class. Currently, if everyone has a job and I manage a couple of job sites, then every last person should make it into the well-off class.

    Keep this going, SM. Love this series, bro. I do have a question. I've noticed in previous videos that when you set up the tourist areas, you almost exclusively use hotels and none of the other resorts. I was just wondering why you use them all of the time?

      Honestly, you bring up a great point. The reason that I usually use the hotels is because they are cheap, and they return a lot of money with the tourist they bring as well and the rents that those tourist pay. It's a cheap way to get a lot of tourist on the island. I don't like going with anything cheaper or small than these and I only go with bigger more expensive hotels if I can afford it and it matches the vibe of the island. But since you bring it up, I should honestly bring in rich tourists. Maybe even only filthy rich tourist! I just got some pretty cool ideas from your comment! I'll delve into it on the next episode. I can't upload tomorrow but the day after! Thanks! 😄

    I think the inverse lobbying means there was a duel demand and you chose the other factions request. About the media building bug... I think each tropican can only get influenced by a media building once. Once your population has been influenced the rate of influence depends on new population

      I'll change the constitution back to Media Independence and check after a couple of months to see if the media buildings are actually influencing people again. I think I've done this before and saw that things we different.
