we talked on another video a couple weeks ago, for some reason youtube wouldnt post my latest response i've checked out the "Don’t be a house rat", and let me say DAMN ts relatable I was an introverted teenager and went for a sales job to try and improve that, and like what happened to you with your retail job i was blessed with a great oportunity and mentoring that made me grow a lot during that time, to the point of making public presentations etc... even got promoted to manager Like you said, I look back on it and say that those were the days lol. I felt so confident and basicaly became an extrovert. Well, long story short i made an career shift and became a dev, then i quit my dev job and became the house rat while trying to build my business. I wonder how common this experiences really are, since they are quite unique in my social circle but you seem to have had a very similar path to mine On this trip that i took i was able to reflect on so much stuff that this comment would be too long, but the main thing that i realised is how much stress and anxiety i live with on my usual routine, something that i need to manage better, i believe the basics will do the work: sleep, social life etc... the tought part is to keep consistent lol this video just gave some good advise on it I have a question for you tho, do you still make music? What kind of business are you working towards now?

Everything, literally everything you spoke about in the beginning has been me for the past 2 years. I have been struggling for any type of why, and somethimes I wont even leave the house for days. Everything was stripped away from me in 2021, when my business closed. My assets, my savings, my credit, my identity, my purpose to get up in the morning. Literally everything was gone at 55 years old, that I spent the last 15 years building up. it's been such a psychological struggle to recover from this. I felt so lost and worthless. There is a great strategy on this topic you start by asking yourself this question: why do I feel so excited about doing this .....? And then you continue down that question path : I don't understand what's so different about today why am I feeling so great about this....? You see it's the exact opposite of what we do when we ask ourselves why don't I have the motivation to do this? Why can't I just start doing it? Why does this feel not enjoyable? Most people will disregard this strategy because when doing the first one they feel like they are lying to themselves, but the fact is that you actually don't know why in either situations, the answer is not really required. As an older guy that has been there and done that. I approve of this message. Video games really started getting popular in the home in the late 70's and ofc 1985 with the NES. Somewhere in the 90's the console wars began and the games started to change. by 2005 the games had become the 3-D online "escape" experience that they are today. Hate to deliver the bad news but, those games are designed to do just that, keep you distracted and in a feedback loop, working your tchitty job and going nowhere. They're designed to numb the dumb, so you gotta get smart to it. Social media is one of the greatest evils in disguise and like a plague is has taken a stronghold on our entire society and world. He's absolutely right about the false validation and how all it does is create a hollow person that always looks for the easy way out and looks for the instant gratification. Corn is one of the oldest industries around and to simplify it, all it is is people who have created an industry around "you not getting the girl" and "the onley dudes". Corn isn't targeted towards women, come on wake up, women have the sexual marketplace cornered and they're gaining social power and abusing it greatly because our young men are busy scrolling and listlessly floating through a false and hopeless existence hoping for a thumbs up or an easy break. Guys you gotta wake up, you gotta man up and stop being used. When we were born, we were given an existence. Anything past that existence is just a concept. We choose what to believe, what to accept, and what to act on. Log off, it's just a concept, it's not your existence.

And that’s all they know. The short term.

@@DirkAndDestroy I tried. There’s still strong emotions linked to it. I didn’t like that at all. The timeline of this story was when I was running away from my truth in general, in every way. And so music was a tool for me to run away, and it triggered me to indulge in other habits that didn’t help me. Distancing myself from music keeps me to see the bigger picture. Ps. Thank you for your comment and providing this tip! I value your input highly!

This video hit so many relatable points about struggling with discipline and feeling stuck in cycles of procrastination. The way you framed the idea of a "strong motivational why" really stood out-it's such a simple concept, but so powerful. Without a clear, emotionally compelling reason, it's easy to fall into that "why bother" mindset where nothing feels urgent or meaningful. I love the example of the burning building and how much more willing we are to act when the stakes feel personal. What resonated most was how you tied discipline to avoiding regret. Thinking about how my future self might feel if I don't act now really shifted my perspective. That part about being unable to face the woman you want to marry because you know you're not living up to your potential-it hit hard. It’s not just about external rewards, but how you see yourself and what you’re building for the people you care about. The reminder that discipline isn’t about perfection, but about staying connected to your "why," even when things get hard, was something I needed to hear. It’s easy to get complacent when things are going well or to beat yourself up when you slip. Your journey showed how crucial it is to revisit your motivators and use them to push through resistance instead of giving in. Thanks for sharing such a raw, honest take on the struggles and rewards of staying disciplined.

@@RobertPlank This was genuinely one of the most beautiful comments I have read so far. I can feel what you’re feeling. Your in depth summary showed how much it resonated with you. And just know, that whatever difficulties you are experiencing. They are 100% worth going through. No matter how challenging, stressful and gut wrenching they may be at times. Remember what it’s all for. Who it’s all for. Maybe it isn’t for a family member, but think of putting your future self in a netter position. Thank you so much for taking the time to watch the video, and to even leave such a well written comment behind! I hope to see you in future videos, your energy is highly valued!

You unplugged. You wake up. People think you're crazy when you say, I don't like music. Who cares? Enjoy it when you want, but don't snort it and huff it 24/7 Triggers: our brain has an ancient reward system. But we cheat those rewards with modern things like sugar, music, pron, social media. But you can cut those cheats out, replace them with real triggers, so the good vibes in your brain only happen when you're achieving something real. That's freedom. Keep going, lads. Edit: history videos are a great pump up

@@eatonkuntz Absolutely amazing comment! “Our brain has an ancient reward system. But we cheat those rewards with modern things like sugar, music, porn, social media.” This is real as hell. Eventually your habits will all be aimed at getting the cheat outs as you mention. It’s a condition you’re training yourself and not a good compounding one. Our environment influences our decisions, our thinking patterns and the life we’ll live. That includes listening to music. It’s used as a tool to run away from their own truth. Again, W comment!
