Since im a big,BIG OutZone fan. (OutZone is a classic Toaplan arcade game) I decided to upload this thing i made with Windows Movie Maker..thx to Toaplan for making a great game! And thx to Tatsuya Uemura & Osamu Ohta for making a kickass soundtrack!

As much as this song brings only hurt to my heart from a plot point of view, i really love this version and it gives me chills.
i do think the layers to these two songs are cool it seems that the first one has some odd lyrical flow to sell the idea that its an alien song while this one is more geared to be more conventional and i can definitely see why this affected the varja in such a way

No doubt. This is Yoko Kanno, hence it turns into a classic the first time it is played.
This is such a beautiful piece of writing in the orchestration. It's immediately recognisable as the melody from Ranka's earlier song, but with a the orchestration modulated into the minor key, which with the discordant guitar and heavy drum track, gives it the dark overtones (but somehow leaving the melody untouched in the major key), until 2:39, when suddenly the second melody cuts in with a shift to the major in all parts, which leads to the tingle moment of emotional lift at that point. And all this is counterpointed with the unusual low harmony multi-tracked by Megumi. Complete brilliance.

I have such mixed feelings for this version of the song. It's a really epic score, and it never fails to get me hyped. But at the same time, particularly in canon, it's a perversion of the original song. A song for peace being used for war; the irony is strong.
That's the mission failed.
That was the goal of this song .. ;) Aimo's got more peaceful versions.
The perversion symbolism fits well with what Galaxy Fleet's agenda was.

I'm a pretty big fan of how somebody managed to turn a futuristic love song into a 4 and a half minute long battle cry.

IDK. Delta just doesn't seem on par with Frontier. I feel like the music is just not as good. But that's just IMO.
I think so too, probably because in Delta the singers are idol group so their songs gave more approachable feeling but less deep compared to Frontier where the singers are soloist diva so the songs also more diva-ish and more epic
Delta have some epic songs too (I admit it’s the solo/almost solo ones). The strong part in delta’s songs is their harmony. In live concert, they are all sung live also. The overlaps are perfect

i can't believe it's been nearly 10 years since Macross Frontier first came out, it feels like yesterday that i watched it for the first time with my dad (granted that was about 4 years after it came out, but still...)

when I hear this song in the series, I feel... disgust. In this moment, I know that Frontier Fleet isn't as good guys as we thought, turning the vajra mating call into war song.
i'm not big fan of the show but i have to admit frontier just put me a huge punch in the face, the last space fight is really epic. And this one was better than the last maccros they have done ( this oen a huge crap).
