I owned countless 335 and currently 2 but this video makes me wanna get an as200 instead! Its way superior sound wise...more 3d, dynamics, everything no wonder how Scofield got stuck on one of those for then last 40 yrs! (beside the contract)

Both sound fantastic. I prefer the 335, to me it has more character and the jsm is more "sterile".

Damn, thought I found a cheaper alternative to the es 335 there for a second until the es 335 bent that first note :’(

While looking for a good 335 substitute, I came across the Ibanez AMH90 (thin hollowbody). These current Ibanez semi-hollows are ultra clean and warm. They are more George Benson than Larry Carlton, but well worth the money and worth far more than their purchase price.

I wouldn't hate to own the Ibanez but the tone of the Gibson is so much more to pleasing to my ears.

Jesus, through my headphones, the ES335 easily wins this shootout. Why? Because it fits in the perfect sonic range of the music. Man, it just sounds so sensitive and detailed and light compared to the more solid and low-end sound of the Ibanez. So maybe, just maybe, the Ibanez would win with different music? We'll never know!

Ibanez a bit smoother, sweety, a bit more "jazzy". Gibson a bit more "nervous" , like a singer with a husky/scratchy voice ! more "bluesy" finally !

Does the Ibanez have a longer scale length? He plays it in a different way, as if there was more string tension. Also the more mellow sond of the Gibson sounds like shorter scale length.
