And I was happy doing 470W up the Leg Snapper as a Cat C racer, those 700W efforts are really impressive. My last leg snapper: ruclips.net/video/V574dA32XCU/видео.htmlsi=apywDsTBsDp0r-Yc
Hey Thom. Not that it matters much, as I'm sure you know your numbers pretty well, but the ramp test is designed to be done sitting, not standing on the pedals. You get some extra watts with the weight of your body, but it skews the result by inflating the maximum 1-minute it uses to calculate the FTP. Regardless, these are such ridiculous numbers... my FTP is your lower Z2 😄
Being seated or upright shouldn't matter as the whole purpose of FTP is for it to be a "functional" threshold power meaning whatever is functional for any given rider to ride at a certain sustain power/effort. If you function better seated then that's how you function and vice-versa is you function more efficiently standing then that's what your FTP should be. Contrary to common belief, standing is not always efficient for everyone. I, for example am much more functional in a seated position vs standing. I lose "functionality" on climbs when im out of the saddle and am much better putting out efficient power seated. Sure I can increase my power by 50W standing but it's not functionally as I would fatigue after a few minutes that way. Different muscles are activated seated vs standing and that is going to depend on the rider and which muscles they have developed more. Same case in the cadence conversation of low vs high. Different muscle fibers are activated different and are better suited for different riders. There's no one size fits all for producing power and I think a lot of people could benefit in looking away from generalized structure workouts and discover how their bodies best suits them for the best results.
great race, always love catching up on these sterams: If I may, I'd recommend sagging the climbs like castle kom a little, so when you finish at the front you get the fastest time as well which may be worth more points (20 pts max) than finishing position (10 pts max)
Very impressive! With your sprint, one could think you'd favor the sprint, but the climbs today were really punchy which fits your profile even more, So I guess it was a strategy from the beginning to go for FAL on the climbs and the stage instead of just the sprint, right?
Just trying to get the most points for the team. There were more points up for grabs on the climbs so I opted to put my focus there. Fortunately I had good legs.
I don't blame you for rage quitting Thom, I did that 4 rides yesterday and was Cat Enf into A to make matters worse. A mixture of enforcing me on the threshold (3.99 wkg) into a strong A pack, coupled with an absolutely ridiculous dynamics physic setup, meant that my places for all four races: 77,57,79,67 I feel were a fluke !
Ths breaking mechanism in RGT might be realistic if there was stearing where you could choose to run into the back of a rider or move to the side and not lose speed. But without stearing it seems to be quite annoying. In no world would i break behind a rider when someone is powering behind me for an attack...
Was great watching how you guys played that as a team. Was interesting with the different breaks forming. Always feel like I’m learning with Zwift racing.
What a sprint!!!!

Whats going on with the RPM at 25:20 😲?
in the form of a lifetime eh? crazy numbers man, good luck in a couple weeks
Thanks! Training is going well and staying healthy.
Incredible fitness! How many bottles of Lactigo did you go through 😂🚀 Looking forward to racing with you in 2 weeks
game 2/3, 450w in 10mins..... wow.... that is insane
Mega ride today - thank you for waiting for me
crazy great race, thoughts on the v6? any noticeable differences from v5? also what did you think of the headwind?
you blow my mind, sir! chapeau
the last km in game 2/3 is epic!

CP5 reach 6.7w/kg in the last 4km....Beautiful!

Also, very appropriate that _Rocketman_ was playing during the last climb, haha

Great racing Thom! Nice to see you back winning everything 👑
@@alexdanell Thanks! Haven’t had a good day like this in a while. Hoping this is only the beginning…
Your sprint seems to be coming back to full strength, nicely done!
Changed back to the Kickr. Hard to sprint on the Justo
Nice racing Thom !
Dude this is hilarious. People getting dropped off the back like there’s a vacuum 5m off the back of the pack.
You always got the best music 🎉
wow the new PD really sucks, that was ridiculous

That last race is a joke. It’s like you’re getting no draft
Screw these PD. Look at your speed on that descent 😡
So so close. Great effort though. I did enjoy the last few K's
Great attack! 462 W for 5 minutes. A little bit unlucky in the end. But who does not take risks does not drink champagne.
Omg. That was heartbreaking!
Drop the playlist 👍🏼🔥
So close! Great power 💪
what a crazy ending! you had an excellent race!
respect for the effort 👊
Unfair Ending 😭👍Strong Try!
How is your season going for you outside this year Thorm

Bad luck Thom, what a shocking platform for a national championship.
What do you think about RGT compared to Zwift? Great racing! 🔥
