This is long, but I did a lot of study, and this is scriptural evidence for what I believe is the Pre-Wrath Rapture; 1) A “seven-year” tribulation period. The four words “seven” “year” “tribulation” “period” are not found together anywhere in scripture. And yes, I know the words trinity and rapture are not found in scripture, but the concepts are. Actually the time of great tribulation starts at the mid-point of Daniel’s 70th week when the “anti-christ” desecrates the temple (abomination of desolation) and then starts his persecution of Godly people who refuse his “mark.” Since it starts at the mid-point, it can’t be seven years long. Remember, he doesn’t break the treaty until 3½ years into Daniel’s 70th week. In the Olivet Discourse, Jesus tells his disciples that this terrible time coming (the time of great tribulation) will have “…false messiahs, wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, famines…and you will be hated by all nations for my namesake and you will be handed over to the authorities and be beaten, tortured, even put to death, but the one who endures to the end will be saved.” Then He gives a startling warning sign: “THEREFORE, when you see the Abomination of Desolation (the mid-point of Daniel’s 79th week) as spoken of by Daniel the prophet…flee!” ALL warning signs, no matter what they are warning about, have one thing in common; they come BEFORE the things they are warning about, so the above warning sign, the Abomination of Desolation, MUST come before the Time of Great Tribulation. 2) God’s “seven-year” Day of the Lord Wrath. The Day of the Lord Wrath starts (according to Joel 2:31) AFTER the signs in sun and moon that Jesus says come “immediately after the tribulation…” If it starts after the time of great tribulation, then it must be less than 3 and a half years long. 3) Some say, “The tribulation period is the time of God’s wrath.” However, the Bible teaches as I have already pointed out, that there is a time of great tribulation that starts at the mid-point of Daniel’s 70th week and is cut short by God’s Day of the Lord Wrath. These two periods do not overlap as shown by the following portion of scripture: Isaiah 2:11-18 talking about the day of the Lord, says, “The Lord alone will be exalted in that day and the idols will totally disappear.” The tribulation period, however, will be a time where the anti-christ will be exalted and his image (idol) will be given “life” and be worshipped by most of the world. This cannot be the Day of the Lord. 4) The tribulation period being another name for Daniel’s 70th week. Conjecture. Actually, Jesus talking about the time of great tribulation says, “…If those days aren’t shortened all flesh will be destroyed, but for the sake of the elect, those days will be cut short.” However, we know that Daniel’s 70th week is NOT cut short, in fact, there are three numbers given Revelation in the 9th chapter of Daniel. It first mentions “1,260 days” which is three and a half years using the Babylonian calendar, then it says, “From the time the sacrifice is abolished (mid-point) there will be 1290 days.” Then it says “Blessed is the one who makes it to the 1,335 day.” If Daniel’s 70th week is cut short by just one day, there would be no “1,335th Day!” So, we have a time of great tribulation starting at the mid-point of Daniel’s 70th week and being cut short for the sake of the elect. On a side note: if we were using a standard Gregorian calendar, Daniel’s 70th week would be 7 x 365 days or seven years long, BUT the Bible again, is based on the Babylonian calendar, with each year being 360 days. This would be 35 days short of a standard seven-years. But, the Bible when talking about Daniel’s 70th week says, “Blessed is the one who makes it to the 1,335 day.” This is 75 days beyond seven years minus the 35 days’ difference between the two calendars, so Daniel’s 70th week will be seven years plus 40 days. 5) At the Rapture Jesus comes for the Church, at the 2nd Coming He comes with the Church. This is not found in scripture. 1 Thessalonians 4:14-15 says, “For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring WITH Jesus (at the Rapture) those who have fallen asleep in him. 15 According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord Himself shall descend…” The Bible actually teaches that whenever the rapture is (pre, mid, post etc.”) Jesus comes with the “dead in Christ” and for “we who are alive and remain.” Since approximately 49 generations of Christians have died and gone to be with the Lord and only one generation is alive right now, Christ will actually come with the vast majority of the church (the dead in Christ) and for a tiny remnant; those who are alive and remain. 6) Noah and his family got in the Ark and had to wait seven days for the flood; representative of being rescued in a pre-trib rapture with final punishment of wicked seven years later at Armageddon. Genesis 7:11-13 says, “In the 600th year of Noah’s life on the 17th day of the 2nd month the great fountains of the deep burst forth and the windows of heaven poured down rain. On that very day, Noah and his sons, Shem, Ham and Japheth, together with his wife and the wives of his three sons, entered the ark.” 7) “I will keep you from the time of testing coming on the whole world…” means the church will be taken out before the time comes. The above word “keep” is translated from the Greek word “tereo” which literally means to guard or protect by keeping the eye upon. It does not mean to remove!
