Understanding and Applying Standards-Based Display Testing for Camera Monitor Systems
Просмотров 9302 года назад
Used in place of side- and rear-view mirrors, a camera monitor system (CMS) offers advantages for vehicle safety and function-eliminating blind spots, reducing glare, and improving aerodynamics. Automotive components used for indirect visibility are highly regulated, however. In the U.S., the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is quickly progressing to approve CMS as a rear ...
Display Metrology for Production: AOI Systems and Technology Advantages

Display metrology is accomplished using an array of technologies-spectrometers, imaging systems, specialized lenses, analysis software, etc. While most systems are well suited to lab and R&D environments, production-level testing requires equipment with unique capabilities that support demanding throughput needs while ensuring quality according to standards, specifications, and user expectation...
Replicating Human Vision for XR Display Testing: A Flexible Solution for In-Headset Measurement
Просмотров 1,3 тыс.2 года назад
In extended reality (XR) devices such as VR headsets and AR smart glasses, display quality is determined by the user’s perception of the display as it is observed within the unique viewing parameters of the device’s design. Called “near-eye displays,” XR displays are viewed from close proximity to provide immersive experiences. This viewing proximity is common across XR devices, but display tec...

any video on how to create a HUD?
great, informative video!
Awesome talk, thanks a lot
can you please explain about the cut off value of vehicle and Light Distribution.?
Very Nice!
Great session! Could you share the slides?
great video thank well explained.
@8:15 Your red line indicates that the human long wavelength cones are sensitive to red, orange, yellow, green, cyan, and blue. Some similar charts I have seen move the sensitivity out of the blue and into the violet wavelengths. Other charts I have seen completely omit any blue/violet sensitivity for the long wavelength cones. What is correct?
This was excellent. First time I've seen CIE chromaticity coordinates being calculated from areas under that part of the response curve which overlaps the source's SPD. Thank you.
LG transparent Display(curverd) technology use for car as an HUD, Then bigger HUD and more long distance measrment, resolution and sharpen is better than DLP,Laser etc.
On page 25, under the camera you wrote 'Camera with IR sensor', what is that IR sensor? is it possible to achieve infrared imaging using IR LEDs and a normal camera (RGB camera)? to have IR imaging instead of IR LEDs what kind of camera we need to use? camera needs to have what kind of things to be able to provide IR video/streams?
I guess it is just a normal camera with IR cut off filter turned off if the camera has this filter
thanks for the video. what is the advantages of using VCSELs instead of IR LEDs? not considering the long range. I want to know its other benefits. Does VCSELs transparent the sunglasses?
Good one!
Just have to comment that answer for Time-based testing equipment -related question @ 57:00. Google for "Video Multimeter", that's the tool for measuring the system latency.
Great information, Thank you

Excellent Compilation!
Well explained thank you so much. This helps a lot to apply light in Design.
WTF! Who would want this in their car?

Lcd mobile display fundamentals & basic & how it's works pls make one video
Mount the testing unit behind/inside a mannequin head for positioning the headset and you'll be set.
Great webinar!
Great lecture, though not clear why we need Fourie transform - we can make image capture with ordinary lens and imager and use more or less well known SW for point parameters.
Hello, I am a technician from a Chinese factory. Some devices are also using TrueTest and Radiant cameras. I’m glad to see your video!
Hello, nice presentation. I have a question. At 53:16 mark, why do you put X in the numerator for Cx? Why not Y or Z?
Hello Sam - Thanks for watching, and for the question! The answer is, basically, convention. CIE standardized formulas that would provide coordinates to plot a gamut of all human-perceivable colors using a 2D diagram. I'll explain more, but the point is that the positions of x (1, 0); y (0, 1); and z (0, 0) on the diagram define a color triangle; and the three vertices represent the primary RGB colors. In reality there are 3 formulas: 1) x = X/X+Y+Z 2) y = Y/X+Y+Z 3) z = Z/X+Y+Z Loosely these are based on primary values RGB. Lowercase x,y,z each use their correlative primary as the numerator. The result is that if x will be a pure X value if there is no Y or Z component (nothing else in the denominator). The x coordinate would be (1, 0). This reflects the maximum perceivable red value of the human color perception gamut. In the diagram the red colors are to the lower right where (1,0) would be plotted. The value for y would be a pure Y value if there is no X or Z component. This coordinate for Y would then be (0,1) reflecting a maximum perceivable green value of the human color perception gamut. So, we see the green colors in the diagram to the upper left where (0,1) would be plotted. These limits define our perceivable color gamut in the 2D space. As extra info, the z value is ultimately it is not needed. The values were defined such that x + y + z = 1 and any two values are sufficient to provide a chromaticity value. It is a convention to use only x and y. If desired, z could be found by z = 1 - x - y, but this z coordinate is a 3rd dimension and cannot be plotted on the 2D diagram. Regardless of z's value, it would be plotted in this chart at (0,0) for x,y. A z with pure Z component, without X and Y components, is a line coming out of the screen at you at the (0,0) x,y coordinate, where the blue values appear in the lower left.
Nice explanation. I have a question. What parameters affect the CIEx and CIEy values and how ?
Webinar was very interesting and I come back to it from time to time. Thanks for accessing it on yt
Thank you very much for this video! I learnt a lot from it!
