Hello! My name is Amanda. I am a Californian currently living in South Korea as an ESL teacher through the EPIK program. I hope to share with you my journey living in a new country through vlogs and travel content. If you are interested in staying update with my adventures feel free to subscribe!
A CHAOTIC Travel Vlog (Come to Japan & Vietnam with Me!)
This vlog is filled with the girlies, giggles, and too much alcohol probably. I had a fun time traveling through Japan and Vietnam with my friends during my Winter holiday even though we got bed bugs and almost lost a passport haha (the rollercoaster ride of travelling). I hope you enjoyed watching it! I plan to be more consistent with posting.

Spend some time with me hiking through Korea to see the autumn leaves! In this video I go to three different National Parks (Sobaeksan, Palgongsan, and Gyeongju). Hey I am currently on my EPIK journey... Just started into my TEFL course. I was wondering when you applied in order to be accepted into the Autumn/Fall 2023 intake. I'm wondering if I could make it for Autmn 2024 intake or am I cutting it too close?
Hey girl! I’m pretty sure I applied around this time (February) this year. You could totally apply before finishing your TEFL and then just update them with the completed one once you finish. Good luck!

hey! not sure if you'll answer this, but i was just wondering if you would recommend it! i've been thinking of epik for dozens of years, and plan on applying for the fall! however, of course, there are always people saying negative things on EPIK, which always has more impact on me than the hundreds of positive things! now that its been quite a while, would you still recommend it? :)
Hey! I would definitely recommend the program. It’s a great way to transition to moving abroad. Of course there will be ups and downs like anything else in life but overall if you want to teach abroad I think this program is really great

Oh my god that same exact bus situation happened to me when I was trying to go to the Korean Folk Village in Yongin! The driver stopped halfway at some bus parking lot and locked me in! Had to use the emergency exit handle to let myself out, went into the tiny office to talk to the bus drivers, and eventually they told me to use a regular local town bus that connects to another bus to get there. It ended up taking a longggg time but I eventually got there lol. I don't know what's up with the wrong information about intercity bus routes online. I'm pretty sure I used Naver maps, too.
thats so wild! I was using Naver too and my friend who takes that bus route often says that has never happened to her

Is the microphone something you got for yourself or is it a your school provided thing?
lucky for me the school has a budget allocated toward the English department so I am able to get some resources with that and that is how I got the microphone!
This was so enjoyable. You seem like a really fun person. Idk how you handle elementary school, though. Especially with such a packed schedule. My high schoolers are enough.

Hey! your video was really informative and helpful:) I have a question if you don't mind. As you said you arrived a few days early before the start of your orientation, so I'm assuming you are allowed to arrive to Korea anytime you want right before the start of the orientation right?
You can arrive a bit before your visa date but I wouldn’t arrive too early!

When did you become interested in Korea and is California interested in Korea or Japan? I'm not an American.
I first started becoming interested in Korea in high school when I started listening to KPOP :) I think many people in California are interested in both Korean and Japanese culture
