Uploading videos that take my fancy from my holidays or where ever I end up that I think might have interest to others like Cemeteries and other historical events. Mainly cemeteries and kinda using my Bachelor degree while I am at it. I will include links to my blogs below.
I have an interest in family history, reading, museums and heading out on my bike. I have a Bachelor in Historical Inquiry and Practice that I got in 2018.

8mm film Sydney to Auckland by ship possibly late 1959 or 1960s
My grandfather seems to have taken his camera to many places especially between Sydney and Auckland showing bits of both cities including the Auckland harbour bridge. Unsure of the date shown, but possibly late 1959 after the bridge opened in Auckland.
The video shows shows Bondi and Sydney harbour bridge with some other locations. My grandfather lived in the Bondi area for a little while before returning to New Zealand

One of my grandfather's 8mm films I recently converted to digital said airshow and I wasnt sure if this was in France or England. The car rally at the end was around Brighton. After some Googling, I found it was the 1962 Farnborough Air show.
Brighton car Rally around 1962 (No audio)
Просмотров 39Месяц назад
During the early 1960s my grandfather travelled to England from Australia. He took with him a video camera. Recently I found the 8mm film and converted them to digital. According to Google searches, this event was the Veteran car Rally in Brighton in 1962. All the label on the film said was Brighton race. The film was fragile in places and broke so it is in sections and I never edited the film ...

Thanks for this beautiful video: yes, the Divine was cremated in New York and the ashes were kept there; later the family agreed on having Greta's urn back to her beloved Sweden - her wish to rest here. When her ashes were interred, her grand nephew helped to put the urn in the ground and a funeral was held in the chapel nearby, with relatives and people from Dramaten theater. (to be watched on You Tube too). Thanks again for this comprehensive video.
Really nice area to look around. There's definitely more deeply buried people under there, just so old and built up that it's at least a few mil of exploration to justify.

That balcony the organ sis on dates from the 1400's, and much of the case above it is from the 1500's! The present organ inside the case is more recent.
My sister grave is very beautiful, flowers from God, white lights or angel lights, her stone is polished every day, don't worry about anything, i told my sister. ❤#027
The place was nice in the 1980s & 1990? These days, the place is normal. 🌦️
Great video
Solid video. I have a few grandparents buried here
My buddy worked in Germany at a graveyard, where the old graves with no family left or family not interested in maintaining the grave, were dugout and the bones literally thrown in trash. The plots get then resold again.

Your correct about the water to lift the tapu from the cemetery/urupa He was a great Maori leader in his day I would like to know the hole with the green water means
This is beautiful!
Please, this cemetery must not be desacralized. Here rests one of my ancestors: Epiha/Epia PARAU. He is the son of Paora PARAU of Gisborne who is buried in Wellington and the grandson of Paora TUHAERE from Orakei… any grave is important for someone. Just a simple question of respect. May each of them rest in peace and be blessed. 🙏💙
Bonjour Brad, thanks for your video, we finally could find where our ancestor Epiha PARAU’s grave is. Thank you very much. Merci 🙏
I was there 10 years ago
Thank you so much for showing this: I have accidentally stumbled onto it: my great grandfather died in Whangarei on 24 May 1884: William Phillips; I have a newspaper write up and details but have never been able to find out where he was buried; next time I am up there I will check out the wall and see if he is there; he is an ongoing mystery : thanks again Alice Hicks
Thanks. Whangarei council has a website where you can look up the people who are buried in the cemeteries. Maybe that might help.
@@bradbeadel2922 thank you 😊

Nice
One of the most beautiful cemeteries I've ever visited. If you want to get a rubbing of Kenneth Graham's stone, I'd reccomend loose dry pigment and a very stiff brush. I spent ages there trying to locate Theodore Carter (The person Lewis Carol based his 'Mad Hatter' on) but to no avail as much of it is now overgrown - it was assigned as a nature reserve with deer etc roaming there a while back, so is not maintained anymore. I'd travelled all the way from Durham as well! I will revisit one day. There is a group called the friends of Holywell. I'll try to make contact with them and hope they can help me out! There are a lot of very notable people buried here but for some reason, The Hatter is not listed on the layout with the others :( If you travel up Banbury road out of Oxford and take an immediate left at the roundabout (careful, it's a sneaky one!) You'll find Wolvercote Cemetery. There you will find the grave of JRR Tolkien and his wife. Their son is a few rows up. There's also a grave for Tolstoy (in the Russian sector. Don't be decieved into thinking it's Leo Tolstoy's sister though. Some research informs me Mary was a distant relative. Her son Demitrie (interred with her) was a notable writer and scholor at one of Oxford's colleges.
Thank you for making this video because I need to know more about dick Turpin because I Need to know about him.
Remerciements pour cette visité, elle m'a permise de voir la tombe de ma famille j'en suis reconnaissante, car je suis à 130km de là. .......
I thought those rocks were clickbait art e .e interesting.
One of my gggrandfathers is resting here. But unfortunately I cannot find him on find a grave. His plot is unknown and unmarked. TFS your video. Cheers from Newcastle.🇦🇺
I'm not sure if it will help but Ancestry Australia has records from 1790 to 1986 regarding burials here. Hopefully it could shed some light but I do understand there are many unknown graves here, many unreadable headstones. I hope it offers comfort that there are still many people maintaining the cemetery and your gggrandfather's resting place is not forgotten.
@@lowcostiqchasm3226 Thankyou for your response. 🙏🙏💜💜👍🏻👍🏻
Hi! I’m one of the trumpetplayers in that band. This was really fun to watch. Thank you!
I'm in York at the moment, having arrived here today. I want to visit Dick Turpins grave for myself, so this gave me a good idea of what to expect. Thank you for making this video.

And the guy shooting the video keeps moving the camera. Very distracting.

Horrible Histories
Reading so many of the comments, i think that people are drawn to the familiar. It doesn't mean that what is played is hackneyed, it simply means that the "masses" are comfortable with the familiar.
Wow, that organ is really high up in the balcony it sits in.
Yes, extremely; I'll bet the organist has no need of an exercise bike!
