What is this
Thank You. Apreciated.
This is better than any TV show I've seen lately.
Thanks so much, im watching as many informational videos of fighting fires, im training for the seasonal wild lands fires.
Fire behavior is very deceptive
Thank you for this video. I learned a lot. I must ask, why can't longer handles be put on several of those tools?
Sometimes shortened handles are added, allowing single hand use but, normally they’d be full length.
That’s why I’m so dirty I always carry a mcleod tool! I love the hose but i also love McLeod
When I saw the thumbnail image I wondered how old this video is. I haven't used or even seen a McCloud tool in over 30 years. A mattock is just plain useless and dangerous on a fire line. And where is the quintessential Pulaski?
The McCloud is very much alive in fire. How long have you been out of the game? In regards to the pulaski, did you watch the video? It had an extended period in which it was described in great detail.
Never turn back on a falling tree is not exactly correct. You should preplan 2 routes of egress, making sure to clear any debris. If the tree happens to block one escape route you can use the other. If you have to run you can turn your back at that point.
2 escape routes for tree felling was written decades ago as the rule. Anymore it’s 3+ routes.
Those hand tools are useless stupid pieces of Iron and Metal without the people behind holding those tools like the inmates they're giving to those tools are useless
Yea I totally agree a car is a very stupid piece of machine and with out the people driving them there useless
Have to mention what a piece of crap the spade is. I have made a proper alternative to the standard issue and was quickly discounted as I wasn't a professional spade designer. It was a big hit with the actual fire crews that used it, so I can verify its usefulness.
From Russia with love
My son is a woodland firefighter in Washington state. Thanks for all the info. Onward!
Thank you for sharing this video with the public, now I even have a deeper appreciation for the hard work that goes into fighting fires
10 feet apart?
It's a safe spacing for the firefighters, you know you won't hit or hit someone when swinging your tool.
