What car would you suggest for someone who does not have a lot of money but still wants to take part in this formula as I am interested but I am 15 and cannot find a job as I am still at school but would like to start when I become 16
henry church I've just completed my first season in these and it really depends how many meetings you want to do and how often you crash and get wrecked. I race in Northern Ireland and we're not quite as rough as England and Scotland. My advice is to go to a local track and chat with the drivers and you'll find a few things out.
Not really, you may break the odd mount or suspension part.. But a well built car will take the impact.. Well built as in designed to fold/bend at a weaker point, and doesn't bend the whole car..
Because i am trying to build a car for "wasteland weekend" which is basically a mad max inspired event and i want to build a car that could ram cars without being damaged badly as i have seen from many videos the cars i would like to use for the weekend are too soft and deform the whole body after one small hit so i found out stock cars are built to survive quite strong hits so i was just making sure that these kind of vehicles can take a beating before i make any commitments, would you have any structural suggestions to make it better for ramming?
An awful lots of work for such a small engine. Space framed autograss cars have less steel and are much faster for that much work. Is it a junior car for oval track racing?
Their a class for anyone over 16 years old, they're so heavily armoured because it's a high contact formula where drivers spin and punt and push eachother, last night I saw a car hit the wall head on twice and it was barely even damaged, they're fantastic racing! :)
Hope you're behaving yourself chops gordon !
what the heck class is that that u need all that on the car....thats alot of weight for a four cylinder race car....
That's a lot of work so credit where credits due. It looks naff. Each to their own though.
ur only aloud race fuel tanks now I believe so yes no love to get a banger is that roll cage adjustable for different cars

Corsa "c" seems to be the way to go atm
+chops660 ok thanks how much roughly do you think everything excluding the car would cost

Thanks for the advice keep it in mind keep up the good work
How much does it cost to make one and how hard out of 10
Would depend on the spec being built.. A panelled / mounted chassis would set you back around £2500. A complete show spec car sky's the limit..
When these cars get hit (like a moderately strong hit) is there any real noticable damage besides the part that got hit being dented in?

So besides the mount or suspension part, the rest is only deformable in that area that gets hit?

+GHOST yes I'd guess so.. If your being hit in the drivers door, it's not going to damage the passenger door area
Cool, the last thing i want is to ram someone with the front and realise the whole car is out of shape.
Finished car here ruclips.net/video/RimBIHJXhj0/видео.html
how much it cost to have one built ? and what are the costs to run / race them ?
+Carnage 731 couple thousand for a 2nd hand running one ready to go thats all i know
A rolling chassis would set you back about £2500..
