Thank you ❤
Wow it's so easy to replace the battery? Thank you.
Brilliant, you made it look so easy!
Thanks for the great video, now I´m up a running again with my A1 :)
thank you
Mine was sealed probably to help with water resistance, but I scored around the middle with a sharp flathead screwdriver edge and it worked a treat 👍
Update: my speaker was sealed but I scored around with a sharp flathead screwdriver and it was easy to twist.
Can I change the battery with two 18650 battery pack with 6000mah total capacity?
Can I build my own battery using two 18650 with total 6000mah capacity?
Great video well presented thanks very much.👍👍👍
Does this also work for the 2nd Gen? I got mine new 2 days ago but afraid it will have problems one day. My Bose Soundlink Mini 2 is from 2015 and still works with 1st battery and it lasts 6+ hours
Thanks so much for sharing the tips of battery replacement
Mine is harder than opening a vacuum sealed jar :D
Heck yeah! Thanks for the video!
Did it work plugged in with the dead battery?
Great video! It’s awesome to see other women using tools, tinkering and fixing things like this. Most of my girl friends look at me like I’m crazy when I talk about such things.. the men just tend to laugh lol. So thank you!
If the battery fails just after couple of years, that's actually pretty abysmal. I have a launch day JBL Charge 3, which probably loses to this B&O device in sound quality, but for a device bought in 2016 or 2017, it still has enough battery life left in it to be useful in 2022.
Thank you!
Currently, how many hours does the speaker play? Half a volume
Helped me. Thanks
I recently did a short cruise near where I live and I was very excited when I found out that only part of the entertainment was listening to this pair of VERY talented people ( for the entire cruise) 7 days. They were both simply wonderful . 👏
I finally have replaced the old battery on mine with a new battery. It works fine now but it doesn't charge-I've tried new charge cables and checked the charge adapter- did you have the same issue with charging and Is there a fix for this?
Is this a lithium ion battery?
Hi there! Do you know which higher capacity battery you purchased? How much higher capacity can you go? Thanks! 👍🏼
Hi! I just typed in the code C129D3 (that was the code on the original in mine) and then selected a 3400mAh version. I have no idea how much bigger you could go to be honest.
Thank you for showing me the way. You said you got a high capacity battery. Do you remember the product code of that one? With mine the charge light no longer lights and hence it doesn't charge Would you'd assume it's also the battery?
The battery code is C129D3, I chose a 3400mAh version so I'd get longer play time. There weren't many available that would ship to Australia at the time so I didn't have much choice in sellers. And my device did the same thing, the light just didn't come on one time when I tried to charge it.
@@ImpactBlue85 thanks again for your reply and interesting yours did the same. I've opted for the same one. I think it cost around $42 but will take 3 weeks or so to arrive. It's a damn shame that such a reputable company as BO can't improve the life of their batteries.
Thanks for the information I got to clean the cover it seems to be a dirt magnet
Poor lighting in the video
LOL turn on the light on your room and watch again
Thank you so much.It save my money.
I suspect some have been glued as well. I'm unable to get the cover off.
That's so annoying! The Bang & Olufsen tech told me it was just held on by clips, but who knows if that's the case for everywhere.
Its too hard.. Im struggling
The first time I got mine off it was quite stiff. It won't move far, you should only feel a very very small twist, like 2mm or so, and then you pull it up.
Please tell me how to update B&O A1 speaker please explane video please 🇮🇳😔
cannot. too hard. maybe I'll call arnold scwazennegger to help me
i can t do that :(
Oh no! The lid won't come off? Mine was quite stiff the first time, but it should only move a few millimetres and then you pull it up.
Прекрасно ) твоя красота внешняя и внутренняя рождает эмоции и в других )
What size Tork screwhead are you using?
It's T10
@@ImpactBlue85 - thanks I got the cover off but my issue is the C Type charge port. It will not accept the B&O charging lead so I'm looking to replace it but part is hard to find. Anyone else have an issue with charge port?? Cheers!
Did it increase the backup
THANK YOU TO BANG OLUFSEN FOR MAKING THEIR PRODUCTS REASONABLY EASY TO DISMANTLE! AVERTED A MAJOR HEADACHE! THANKS FOR THIS GREAT TUTORIAL!
Brilliant! Thank you! Saved me £200 to pay someone to do it 😂
Oh yay! That's what led me to doing it in the first place. The ONLY repair tech in my state told me he would charge me $150 to do a 3 minute job, and then told me to get on Amazon (we don't have any stores in Aus that would sell me that battery).
Can you do one for the P6 please?!
I cannot as I do not own one.
You'll need a 9V Quick charger to do it properly, because the speaker have a 7.2V battery and a regular charger puts out only 5V, no matter how many amps. Otherwise you'll damage the battery faster, because basically you never fully charge it!
The replacement 3400mAh is 7.4, the original 2200mAh was 7.2. Either way though, the 9V adaptive fast chargers that come with most phones these days are the best option for battery longevity.
Alex the input voltage does not need to be the same as output voltage. The stated input voltage is 5v at up to 3A. It's designed to work with standard usb chargers, hence the inclusion of a USB cable but not a charger. It will charge fully with a usb charger of less than 3 amps, it will just take longer. The reason battery life is so crap is that the speaker chucks out a lot of deep bass for the size, so the 2x 18650 cells are wired in series rather than in parallel to give the extra power needed. Of course this means that the battery capacity is the same as one of the cells only - in this case only 2200mah, which was already pretty low by the time the A1 got released.
@@ImpactBlue85 2200 mah was always too low a capacity for playing the speaker at high volume. It's annoying how disingenuous b&o were with advertising a 24hr battery on this speaker! Still 3400mah should make a good difference. If you wouldn't mind could you unwrap the original battery pack and get the serial number from one of the cells? I'd like to get the specs of them to ascertain the discharge rate. No worries if you don't have the time though, I appreciate it's a bit of an ask!
@@edewar6004 100%, it's always frustrating, but I went into it knowing i'd get about 5 hours max. And that's pretty much all I ever got. The new battery is yet to go flat and I had it playing for about 14 hours over the weekend, so i'm not sure yet! Luckily I kept the old one so I just pulled it apart, it has 2x ICR18650 22FM (Samsung, but i'm guessing that doesn't matter). Hope that helps.
@@ImpactBlue85 Ah great, that's really helpful, thank you! I'm not up on electronics much but I wasn't quite sure the replacements I had in mind would handle the 2x30w peak amplifiers, but mine are at least as high drain rate as those original cells so they'll be fine! Apparently the original spec sheet for those cells dates from 2008 so they are quite an old design. I know that some stuff is already a bit behind the times by the time production stage is reached but I really think that b&o could have done better with the cells in this case, especially considering the markup on b&o products!
Can you please give me details and link of battery that you bought
Go girl Thank you great upload
This helped a lot! thanks :)
Why I cannot open the cover of my A1?
You only need to turn the cover a few millimeters and then lift. I had a lot of trouble until I learned this.
@@ImpactBlue85 Thanks for your respond! The cover is too tight on my A1 and I worry to break it. I'll try again later
I have to get the speaker in both hands and then squeeze them together using my knees to help my hands! Then twist anti clockwise while applying the pressure. Does need a lot of force.
So after replacemented it how long battery life? And how long for charging?
I get 10 hours use before the battery turns the volume down. I'm not sure how long to charge, I put it on at bedtime and it when I wake up it's done.
@@ImpactBlue85 Thank you
Thanks for the guide. Very simple procedure.
Thank you :)
How much mAh did your new battery have ?
3400
@@ImpactBlue85 Did it actually improve battery life? Eventhough my original battery is still working, I Wonder if I should replace it With a bigger one for longer playtime 😁
@@KaiDerHai618I certainly get far longer from the device now. I never got the manufacturer claimed amount of time anyway, but this is now significantly longer. I do plan on running a run-time test one day but I haven't yet sorry.
cant take cover off!)....clockwise? neither way
I had a lot of trouble also, I thought it was just me. It lines up in a very specific way. Turn anti-clockwise a few millimetres then pull up, you will feel it. I made another video to help ruclips.net/video/MxDBruP8sZo/видео.html
could you please update link from where you bought it in description..
I didn't put a link to the battery in as the sellers often change, meaning the link would be useless. Also they don't all ship to the same countries - it's just easier to search Amazon for the battery code.
Can you say what is capacity of original one ? I know replacement is 2600mAh.
Hi. My original was 2200mAh, I replaced it with a 3400mAh.
@@ImpactBlue85 Oh thanks, looks like with that capacity A1 can finally reach 12h usage without charging.
@@jareeqfingers crossed!
The original battery has 2200 mAh.
