Does that include the fin seal? Can't the size/width of the seal vary depending on the flow wrap machine? Also, do you have a formula for the length? That is usually the tricky part for me. Give a little wiggle room so that a product slightly displaced is not chopped off by the end sealer.

hello great video. what different would you do in calculating the dimensions of a plastic bottle for 2 or 3 layers packaging. Also how to tackle the problem of bulging out of the box? If we reduce the height the bulging will reduce but how to know how much height to reduce. it will be a great help if you could help me with this! thank you so much!

Nice video. I like to share when measuring the ID that it should be on the side of the manufactures joint and when measuring the depth you must account for the flap thicknesses at the top along with the head space.

Very good video. Some additional issues to consider: are relative humidity and the time in which the boxes are going to be stored. These variables can affect the result of the McKee formula up to 50% box resistance.

Hello, I am a french student and I have now a scientific project which aims at judging the coherence of using cardboard as a construction material (currently used for the realization of Wikkelhouses). One of the four steps in my approach consists in evaluating the physical resistance of cardboard, and by saying so I mean evaluating qualitatively the maximum strength that the material is likely to receive; however, I do not possess any kind of those ECT machines, and my only option remains to do it handcrafted. So my question is : Is it actually possible to measure the max kgf supported by the cardboard with a handcrafted ECT ? And by handcrafted I mean putting an increasing load on my cardboard (like weights or dictionaries) until it folds, but i doubt about the fact that the real strength received by cardboard identifies as the weight that it supports (With the reaction force of the support) : So how is the Strength on the ECT machine measured ? Great video!! I have experience with shipping when it comes to secondhand clothing and other items including shoeboxes and fragile items. Sometimes I have to get creative with the boxes and stuffing to fill the headspace - which may be much more than 1/4” at times, but I usually fit bubble wrap, crumpled paper, or air bags (the ones designed for shipping) between said headspace to fill that gap. This is a great platform for you to share information you’re interested in! It’s a great way to share & communicate ideas on packaging.
