The band was orignated from C.U. Band members who, upon Mr. Piti Kayoonpan's invitation, came together to form "LaiThai" band to enter Jazz Big Band Competition in 1996.
"LaiThai" band had won the Royal trophy from His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej and that event marked the beginning of "Bangkok Metropole". As the years went by, many generations of C.U. Band members and other university bands alike, have come together to perform in many established music events both locally and internationally until this day.
The name "Bangkok Metropole" was introduced when "LaiThai" band performs abroad. With the unique quality of the band, upon its variety of professional musicians, The band can perform in various genres and band types. For example, Orchestra, Big Band, Combo, down to quartet and trio.
From 1996 till today, Bangkok Metropole is regarded as one of Thailand's most professional band offering the quality performances, ensuring the joy of those who came across our music.

Best version I have heard to date. If you are over 50, Asian or was living in Asia in the 70's, there is no way you can forget about such a classic track, not because it was by Barry White, but it was because of the Cathay Pacific TVC campaign from Hong Kong at that time.
