Hori's father is crazy funny.... The series never explains what his job is and why he's away from home, but the interactions between him and the rest of the Hori family are interesting! When you keep hearing other people putting you down, it's easy to start believing it. I think that's what the author is showing with Miyamura's past and Sakura's past. The key is learning to accept yourself.

They're definitely dating, but Mei is so uncertain of herself that she doesn't really know what "dating" means.... lol I swear, all Japanese shows, whether they are anime or live action, have tons of food in them no matter what the topic or genre of the show... and all the food always looks so good!! It could be a Godzilla movie and just before Godzilla appears, you'll be in the middle of a cooking show! Actually, it's the same thing with Korean shows. I'm always hungry when I watch any of these shows! 🤣

Miyamura was pretty sneaky with inserting his confession in there! 😝 I really like how this series shows how easy miscommunication/misunderstandings can come about through simple day-to-day conversations, like the when they were all in the student council room. Especially when Miyamura is talking to Ishikawa, since Miyamura is talking about one thing, but Ishikawa's head is somewhere else, so he's getting a completely different idea! 😂 I don't think I have ever hallucinated as much as Hori did in this episode. However, I have had a few instances where I have blacked out (from heatstroke), and I think in those cases my brain and vision has gotten fuzzy and my ability to think and make sense of the situation got messed up. I still didn't envision being in a different place, like Hori hallucinating that her Mom is leaving her, but I just got very confused. But I think that Hori was also experiencing some effects of the medicine she took earlier.

ahhh.... your food looked really good! I love Korean food. My wife is half Korean and is really picky about Korean food, so we're always checking out new Korean places. 😃 Actually, we just tried a new place last month, but it was "meh", and we have another one that we'll probably be checking out sometime this month. Ah, one of the difficulties of forming relationships in a contained social environment (in this case, school, but also a church, workplace, or recreational group), is that the rumors fly fast and furious. Especially if at least one of the people in the couple is well known and popular. It's like when people slow down driving past an accident -- everyone wants to see what's going on.... lol! BTW, the anime and manga do not really specifically say how much time has past between the last episode and this one, but it seems like it's only a couple of days. Hayakawa definitely deserves all the hate! 😝

The less you know, the better your reaction will probably be. 😜 Words of caution: 1) This is a heavy/power/speed metal band 2) They have a very passionate fanbase that call themselves the Wolfpack, and I mean "passionate" (there's positives and negatives to this) 3) If you decide/announce that you'll be reacting to their songs, you can expect the Woflpack to start visiting your channel 4) Songs are shorter than anime episodes, so they may be faster to do. However, the copyright on them can be stricter. I'm not a content producer, so I don't really know for sure, but I have heard from other content producers that songs may need more precautions. 5) This band has over 60 songs in their inventory, so there's a lot to work with. Additionally, if this works out, you can expect people to recommend other bands for you to check out. 6) Ask your questions in your video reaction and you can be sure that the Wolfpack will provide answers 😀 7) If you decide to check out this band, be prepared to have your mind blown

haha.... everyone reacts that same way with Remi (pink haired girl). Since they introduce her with the missing report scene and then her "joking" with Hori, everyone thinks she's a b*tch. You've seen a bit about Miyamura's past, so keep that in mind for future episodes. He has very low self-confidence/self-esteem, to the point of self-harm. Someone who doesn't even believe he's worth having friends is NOT going to think that someone could love him, unless it's pretty much slammed into his face by that person.

lol.... dude..... I don't think you're going to last through this whole series! Aiko is actually a very hurt person and has her own insecurities and issues, but she is also really great. In fact, this whole series is about various people dealing with their own issues. If you just look at them at face value and don't bother to find out what is really going on inside them and their histories, you'll never get to understand them and miss out on amazing people.... just like in real life. Making snap judgments on people without spending time on what is really going on inside them and not taking the time to communicate and instead just assume things in our heads is how we get into arguments or create divisions between us and others.

LOL.... every social environment has it's share of rumors, especially when there are individuals who thrive on getting into other people's business because they think that they should be the center of attention. 😝

Be careful, this series really compresses time a LOT, between episodes and even within a single episode (also, some times it jumps around). The original manga covers around 150 chapters and they tried to cover the whole story in just one season of 13 episodes. So even within this episode, it probably covers around 4-8 weeks within the story (because they also skipped some stuff. It is likely that Hori doesn't even remember the conversation at the beginning of the episode by the time her birthday occurred. This anime series turned out to be really popular, so this past year they released an additional season that is comprised of stories that they were not able to fit in the first season. So it is not a sequel season, but rather additional stories that occur within the same time period that the first season covers. Japanese school year starts with the first of 3 terms in April and running till July, then the second term is from mid July until end of December, and the 3rd term is from beginning of January till mid-March. (However, this is a rough estimation). Hori's birthday occurred during the week of their Spring break, between the end of their 2nd year and before the beginning of their 3rd year (they are in high school for 3 years, so this will be their last year of high school). Also, this series will introduce a lot of characters (and I mean a lot), so sometimes you'll be like "who is this person?" and other times you won't see anything about a particular character for several episodes and then have nearly an entire episode with them in it.

Oh wow.... it's been years since I watched this anime and read the manga! It was a really good series, though I would recommend reading the manga after you've finished the anime series (to get a more complete picture of the story). 👍

Hooray! A new reactor to Horimiya! This is my favorite romance anime and one of my top 5 romance manga, so I sure hope you continue reacting to this (or at least finish the series yourself -- it's worth it). There's a lot of time compression in this series. The manga covered 2 years of their lives in about 155 chapters. The anime covers the same period of time in 13 episodes. So from episode to episode, it could cover weeks within the episode, which can cause you to feel that everything is moving really quickly story-wise. So much was skipped (and this series was popular enough) that this past year they released an additional season of 13 more episodes that basically cover more of the story in-between (meaning that the second is season is not a sequel, but instead filler episodes). Overall, I really like the production of this series with the animation, voice actors, music (the OP is still one of my favs), and even though they skipped a lot of content for the first season, I still like the general story editing. The use of the colors going away or towards to the two main characters to represent their feelings was a really interesting concept to use with this anime. Being turned down is a lot different than breaking up. As in if one person in a social group expresses interest in another person but then gets turned down, it's usually less impactful to the social group than when two people in the group get together and then later break up. How either situation affects the social group depends on the strength of the social group, the "purpose" of the social group, the personalities of the two individuals involved, and how the situation is handled by everyone involved. For example, if the social group exists because you're all in the same class in a school, everyone kind of needs to figure a way to "make things work" because it's not likely that the people involved can leave that group. Basically, there are a lot of variables involved, so there are ways it can work out and there are ways that can really screw things up. 🤷‍♂
