    I like this one maybe more than Tony Scott's Unstoppable, it has more depth about good and evil, the criminal mind, his narcissism, selfishness, empathy, it plays with that philosophy and with the greys of Jon Voight's character, that make it more than just a movie about a runaway train, the story is by Akira Kurosawa, so it is more than just a generic train story.

    • @rmgilyard
      @rmgilyard Месяц назад

      I would personally prefer Unstoppable, because it basically was an inspiration for a runaway incident that almost ended in fatal disaster and happens nearly a decade before it was released. Plus it also predicted what we’re to come 13 years later with the 2023 incident in Ohio. Plus it isn’t ashamed to show some understandings of its-execution.

    I can tell you, the moving train scenes were indeed real! They used real locomotives from Alaska, Montana and Oregon to do the moving train scenes. While in the cabs and in some scenes, they were filmed at a studio. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Runaway_Train_(film)#Shooting And believe it or not, this movie takes inspiration from a real life incident from the 1960s!

    interesting movie...where protagonist basically provoked on purpose all the crap that the villain threw at him therefore arguably was worse then the actual villain...and the bad guy`s response was the only right choice cuzz just forgiving ``the good guys``or letting them walk away would made them lose any shred of respect they had remaining for him having in mind that it`s a literal mob boss we are talking about...

    @15:00 - In response to the question about her being blue/grey etc, when someone overdoses on opiates/opioids and their breathing stops, they stop getting enough oxygen then any at all, so their colour drains out of them, I've had a lot of friends, girlfriends overdose (and sadly lost a lot of them) and their colour was always a variance of light blue/grey Thank god not only was I with them but I always carry Narcan/Naloxone to reverse their overdoses, sadly sometimes either I did not currently have it on me or the more common occurence of the drug they'd taken was so powerful the Narcan either barely worked, or only did for a short period despite giviing them a full syringes worth of medicine. Combine that with a late incredibly overworked crew who would arrive too late, or we'd all wake up to find one/two of us had passed in the night, on some occasions they'd passed before even being able to change out of their dirty scraggily day clothes before getting into their sleeping bags in -10C weather, so they/'d overdosed/frozen to death because where we were situated often wasn't covered from the elements. - Remember folks!, if you ever come across someone having an Opiate Overdose or suspected overdose is 1- Chest Compressions !! 2- Call an ambulance 3- Find out if anyone or someone at reception etc has a Narcan/Naloxone/Naltrexone kit and follow the provided instructions **This is not medical advice, just common sense, don't sue me people of the internet please lol* 😅

    One thing about this movie, Vs. HotShots, is that this movie takes itself a little more seriously, even though it is a comedy. That makes it a more refined production. There's some easy comedy, but no lazy comedy. It takes a lot of devotion to detail to pull off the Swedish Bookstore scene, and the underwater brawl. I think you guys are one of the few reactors to notice the East German setting. The movie has the feel of an old war movie, but it's actually set in relatively contemporary times. (To the time it was released ) It mentions the Carter administration, and it has a Pinto. It probably takes place somewhere in the 70's or 80's.
