Hey everyone, sorry its been a while. Between my wife giving birth and getting ready to leave for school life has been hectic. Lt. Gooden, Can you breakdown what they mean that the army pays for the PA school. Do they actually pay for the whole program or they pay a percentage? Or loan repayment program? Also, when they say they pay you to attend the school, they pay active duty pay (BAS/BAH)? Lastly, what is the time required after graduation? Would I be able to choose my work location or they choose for me upon graduation? Thank you!
Why do they make you take a&p if it’s already a pre req?
best guess is it's more in depth like possibly gross anatomy. Regardless, A&P is a prereq to just about any medical field and you will take it again once in that field such as medical school, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, etc.

Also have a quick question while I’m here, do you receive both bachelors and masters within the program or it’s best to receive bachelors before applying??

@@Elew97 you get a BS when you graduate Phase 1, and your MPH when you graduate Phase 2.
Also, we've ALL been there. Reach out to your upperclasses, even if you think it's a stupid question, it's NOT. We've ALL had the same questions! And join the IPAP and IPASS FB pages. Lots of good info over there!
wait i’m confused... so you what date did you send in your packet, what date did you find out you got accepted, & what date did you start?

Just Army. Other branches do their own thing.
What was your major? ?

he can't he could be dismissed from the program. its briefed when you start not to share the information to underclassmen or potential underclassmen
It wouldn't help anyway, even if it WAS allowed. They change every semester!
LT please shave the mustache. you are compliant with AR 670-1 but its an unwritten rule for Officers to remain clean shaven, trust me. CPT Rucker...
I'm an E-5 and not married. Do IPAP students in my situation get BAH and not have to live in barracks?
Yes. You'll get BAH and can live on or off post.
No barracks for IPAP.

@@jeremiaharyeetey9877 you have to be an officer or near graduation at the timne of application. Because Physicians Assistant Programs are graduate or masters degree level the army does want you to have a college (bachelors) degree. - Currently in the Guard, as a specialist enlisted as a 68W Combat Medic. Looking to do this myself

Which would would you have preferred National guard or a Active Duty

@@TheMiniWhiteHouse_ they pay all of it it’s crammed into a shorter spam than a civilian school and then you pay back with years of service just doing your job.
Can you get accepted into this program without a college education or do you need to at least attend community college?
Community college is fine as long has you get the prerequisite done
Like your videos about the program. Glad we have young men of color in the medical field. Can you talk about the program and how it effects relationships. With all of the studying required something has to give. Keep up the good work, that's a very competitive program so the fact that your there say a lot!!!! Thanks for your service.. BP
Relationships can get strained. Like, you're home every night, but not "present". Make sure your family is fully aware of how much studying it takes to pass an exam every Monday and Friday. Expectation management is key.
Loving your videos about IPAP! By the way, when you finish with IPAP will you become an PA on the civilian side or only on the Army side?

Thanks for all this info! I'm looking forward to applying to the program but I have to retake my science classes first so it will be a while. I start my first anatomy class in January. also, it seems like this program is AIT on steroids, congrats on making it this far. Thanks again for posting your view on this, stay focused and stay strong.
What is the application process like to the IPAP if you've already finished your bachelors degree in biology?? I'll be done with school in December and I've considered joining the Army as a way of going to PA school after running into a recruiter on campus. Would I be able to go straight into the program or would I have to do a few years of training and service first? Great video, good luck!

Great video can't wait for the next episode I want to join the navy as a corpsman and once I can qualify for IPAP which I think you got to be an E-5 for and 2 years of enlisted experience, that's my plan I might become an IDC Independent Duty Corpsman for 2-3 years maybe to become more competitive to get in
