What nm or kg cm is this particular hinge rated for?
Who knew you could re patent a ball joint

Not really but I think you basically just need disks to create friction that are made out of certain alloys 🤷♂️
@@liambennett1878 yea. I'm trying to design hinges with PLA plastics and the biggest challenge is I don't know how much force I can apply at those ends that will minimize deformation and provide enough friction. But plastics have high wear rates. Looks like I will have to do few calculations.

@@Baum1999 yeah. Generally two dissimilar metal like washers bronze and ss (I have read it somewhere in a paper) placed alternatively and when they are clamped together axially with certain amount of force, will act just like clutch pads. Surface to surface contact has to be properly maintained. Surface has to be flat. The amount of axial force applied will determine at what force the hinge will move. Now some companies might have their own alloys for the frictional plates.

What a fantastic way to see hot product is used in an automobile very very impressed clean to the point accurate I would love to work for this company but I'm not sure if my background could fit into this manufacturing process that you have I'm an electronic tech by trade 38 years live in Saint Paul II but I have to say this was very impressive video to Big thumbs-up fantastic job

I bought this product the the problem is I could not machine the other piece that this torque would fit into it. It requires a high precision CNC metal machine to do the exact dimensions provided in the drawing sheet. I would like to ask if it is possible to press fit into a smaller hole or heating
