    Thanks for sharing. I have not been formally diagnosed, but I got goosebumps reading about FND. I was convinced for at least a year that I had MS despite doctors saying it can't be. I have been recently experiencing paralyzing muscle contractions that got a whole lot worse when I had to miss my medications for about 3 days. That was the first time that I ever felt like I could not control my ticks at all, and my body was almost entirely stuck in a contraction. I have been thinking about a sort of vlog to a diagnosis, but I'm a bit camera shy, and the thought of having a video of me online starts some anxious feelings. I am glad to see there are other people comfortable sharing.... Perhaps one day I will just jump in instead of imagining what could be

    Hey. Great video and explanation of FND and your symptoms. You have a really good attitude to dealing with your symptoms. I was diagnosed with FND back in 2019. I had an accident on the ice while lining a hockey game and was knocked out and sustained a TBI. That's when the FND symptoms started. When you mentioned the apnea, I didn't know it could be a symptom....but it makes sense. I did a sleep study and learned I had severe sleep apnea, which I believe was the result of my head injury. Thanks for sharing your story. You did an amazing job explaining things in your video. Cheers!

    i have some struggles since i was 23-24y old weird things happend, but after 2-3y they found out FND i go to an universitair Hospital, it something i also have to go to accept and also i see thing going little bit back, my legs are sometimes weak, i try as much to walk, but they told me also i have to accept life will be different, i did powerlifting, and ice hockey, now already 2y not doing these sport driving me crazy, idk how this will go futher, like they say nerve damages, Software problem. well now i'm 26 but i am pretty scared cause i still can't accept it that things goe different, i think i still need a long way to accept and just enjoy life, and looking to your videos is like therapy and also i have some epileptic shakings but 2y back to now indeed my body has changed, i need to accept but it is still hard mentally like , i drove back then to Motorcycle etc and now i can drive my car but i am honest with myself that this will be change too in future, am i afraid yes cause idk how, that why i go to special theraphy to accept and learn how life will going in future. - btw your story is also important i learn from it to be positive life is more then the things i used to do,

    I was diagnosed with FND last May and I didn’t really want to accept it as here in the uk hardly any medical staff I’ve ever met have known what it is or how to help me? I’ve found it hinders the treatment and way people here help me if I have symptoms of other illnesses that need treatment and I have been told to chase up psychology services by several nhs medical staff members! Including my neurology consultant initially. I am lucky in that I have an FND specialist neuro dept here in Sheffield and so feel I am understood, but it is scary as not much is understood about this still.. so finding someone on here who explains it as simple neuro wiring dysfunction is helpful to show others that this is real and an actual brain disorder. Just because it doesn’t show on standard scans yet- available in the uk as basic mri only- it is real and is not something I made up! ❤

    • @livingdifferently470
      @livingdifferently470 10 месяцев назад

      My brain stopped sending signals down to my legs. And I have spasticity also. It is very controversial in that topic with Healthcare and me and others. The fact is, is that I'd rather not go to doctors because they're looking from outside my body and only see a body. But they don't know what I feel and deal with daily. And I would want to live a happy life versus go into a doctor's room and ask what's going on with me when I already did that, and got bad results. To hell with knowing what can be or could be. To hell with looking at doctors and think they're people who have the answers and solutions. Because they're the worst patients. No one knows what is and isn't. What can or will be. The best way Ii see it and has worked for me. Accept and move on. You'll be better off.
