Northarvest Bean Growers Association (NBGA), is growers representing growers through the check-off system. Northarvest region, Minnesota and North Dakota, is North America’s largest supplier of quality dry beans. Working together to better the industry through promotion, research, market development, education of consumers and monitoring of governmental policy. Goals include continued market exposure and careful monitoring of new ideas, consumer choices, and producer needs.

How to make Bachelor Beans with Chef Lauren Zobac courtesy of NBGA
Chef Lauren Zobac once again shares a bean-focused recipe for Northarvest Bean Growers Association - Bachelor Beans!
Bachelor Bean Ingredients:
2 Cups red beans, soaked overnight, then cooked in water.
1 Tablespoons tomato paste
1/3 cup ketchup
1 medium pepper
Onion Powder (to taste)
*Optional - Roasted garlic (to taste)
Salt & Pepper (to taste)
1/4 - 1/2 Cup Vegetable stock (to desired consistency)
Splash of Red Wine vinegar
2 Tablespoons powdered sugar
Method:
Whisk together sauce ingredients until well mixed, adding pre-cooked beans last.
Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes until heated through and the sauce has thickened to desired consistency.

Corn syrup for kids?! Don't they already get enough of this!
The recipe says you can substitute it for honey, agave, or maple syrup, if that's what you prefer. Sugar is a great binding agent. Kids also love sweet flavors.
