I'm Milan. I'm not a professional electronics engineer, I'm a chemist. I kinda wish I was an EE, but since it's kinda late for that I'm forced to learn in my free time and take it really slowly. If you're the same as I am and share the love for the science and tech, join the squad and enjoy the vids. I believe that the best way to learn electronics is by making circuits and mistakes (a lot of mistakes).
DON'T BUY CHEAP SOLDERING TIPS!!!
Sorry about not uploading for a while. I got a new job and the adaptation period didn't really allow me to focus on RUclips at all. I'm back now and I've just finished editing some of the videos I've made a while ago. This is the second one.

Not All Hot Air Stations Are Same!
NOTE: A viewer asked a great question: "Are the stations the same power in WATTS?". The answer: NO. The one with the fan is 700W, and the one with the piston pump is 600W. So the better performing one is actually weaker in WATTS. I completely forgot to say that in the video, I'm sorry. Sorry about not uploading for a while. I got a new job and the adaptation period didn't really allow me to foc...

QuickE #1 - What Flux do I use
I wanted to make a short video explaining what type of flux I use. I'm mainly going to make a series of these QuickE's, so I can easily link these videos whenever someone asks me: "What kind of do you use?". I hope this answers your question. Enjoy!
Superlux HMC-660 Headphone Monitor - Cable Repair
This is a relaxed repair video and I wanted to fix a problem that has existed with these headphones since the moment I bought them - they came with no audio connector. I paid 40$ for them and they sound pretty good for that price. Enjoy this simple repair video! I hope I get some real studio speaker monitors some day, so I don't have to completely rely on these.
I'm sorry... I was wrong! - How to be stupid #1

The soldering iron had the temperature calibration problem. I wanted to compensate a bit, by replacing the original thin cable with a normal 1,5 mm power cable, which could handle and deliver higher and more stable current. Boy, was that a mistake... Enjoy and I'm sorry for recommending a trash product.
Life Advice and a Project for The Mrs

Digital G1000 microscope from AliExpress - REVIEW (Is 55$ enough for microsoldering?)
Not sponsored. This is a first look at the 55$ G1000 8MP 1-1000X Continuous Amplification Microscope (4.3" screen). I don't see myself getting a real 500$ tri-ocular microscope, as I don't really make a living off microsoldering and repair. Also, there are slightly better versions of this microscope out there (10MP and a slightly larger screen), but they're two to three times as much and the la...
Are cheap USB soldering irons worth it?
Hey guys! In this video I'll be testing some cheap USB soldering irons that are currently dominant on the market. This video is not sponsored and I made it cause I was genuinely curious about the quality and performance of these irons. I was also looking for a potential microsoldering pencil, until I'm able to afford a real one. I hope you enjoy!

Happy new year everybody! This video is long overdue. But finally I did the review I originally promised. The video is not sponsored and the soldering station was bought at my local hardware store. For just 17 bucks, you can't go wrong! You can make it into an ultimate soldering station by purchasing all the available tips (there are four of them).

27:00 is it?
If you want hair dryer then don't buy smd
ok but this with pump have smaller length ... and its more complex to got it to work while your have lot of equip around.
they are so cheap, 2$ on temu
The longer the heat the longer it will stress the SMD component you are trying to desolder and resolder, that is the issue on the fan type
The L is not silent in solder.
BOTH are NOT professional.... BOTH are GARBAGE
The pump is very nice I'll say that ..!!!
No no no no !!!!! 🚫 No no !!! No flux and to much flow no no ..and I don't Wana be doing this on mosfits...but Nevermind..
Science nah that's stupid , but a stupid test when you already heated the Ground plane that's "cOnCLuSive"... Okay bud...
What is the blue rubber mat he has is called???
DuraTech Large Soldering Mat
Bad test! Having the 2nd mosfet on the board acted as a heatsink for the first test! It would ONLY be fair to put the mosfet back on the board for the 2nd test.
question what is the name of the camera that you use to record and repair
It could also just be that the temperature is out of calibration on the "fan" machine.. The test is pointless without proving the temperatures are the same.
Use thinner solder wire.
How do you get to the battery on the silver chrome one.
There seems to be some discrepancy between claims, this video claims the higher end Baku is piston driven, but googling and searching for corresponding products I could find the same one both piston, diaphragm, and fan powered with the fan inside the station itself.
What camera are you using for the microscope?
Hello. I'm hoping to make a hot air station. I want to order the 858d pcb for the station. Do you know if it's possible to hook it up with the diaphragm pump heat gun or can I only stick with the fanned heat gun? The fan heat gun comes with the 858d pcb by default on off the shelf rework stations.
Main problem with that pump based station is weight, and fan based will become better with time because now you can buy micro trubines from vacuums and hair dryers woth ridiculous air capacity.
entire marketing is based on simple fact that buyer would almost never admit that he/she wasted money for no good reason. moreover, he/she would passionately advertise his/her purchase as the smartest thing is the world.
Thanks for the valuable info.
so turn the first one up to 9 then
What is the thing that you put the led on called?
PCB board?
Why should i care about volume of airflow? I want to be heating, not blowing components off the board! Max air is too much on any station. Also "a piston pump will always deliver more volume" is the funniest shit i ever heard. Because this is the design for pressure, not for volume, the 5015 fan does about 10 times the air volume. And most of that pressure is needed in order to overcome the hose air impedance. That being said that airflow is going to be much more consistent, since the small backpressure from the work being near the nozzle or from narrow nozzles isn't going to impress that pump at all, it fought worse on the way there. Also tbh the one with the fan in the handle the real air temperature falls off the cliff if you run too much air.
Thank you.
this true I just replaced my old one and my new one works so much better.
Thanks for the info it helped a lot.
You do not want to be pushing to much air so it can blow all the little components as well you want as little air as possible that will do the job.
1:06 this sentence is wrong - the opposite is the case. Otherwise you are right of course. But big volume instead of big pressure is always made using a fan, not a piston. The difference clearly comes down to the totally fake "700W" that are maybe 300 at best or the low air volume due to the cone shaped air path (fan hat not enought pressure)
For such a portable iron I would tolerate the limited power, the battery is a basic physics limitation. But what I won't tolerate is the missing thermostat. Even more when the energy is limited, as it leads to unnecesarily higher battery drain. And more over even when the most expensive hardware for that (the very low Ron mosfet, a microcontroller whose many have ADC capability to evaluate the typical thermocouple output,...) are already there, what is missing is just the code doing the thermostat function...
i still use this model even i already have a soldering station :D
Cant find anything but the fan in handle ones unless i spend $120+ USD
So where does one get a "good" pump one?
What is the cost difference for a hobbyist. If the nice one is 4x the price then that's where it matters too
I've been super happy with my TS80P. I use it as my main iron with a flexible silicone cable. I had to buy the D25 tip because the one it comes with isn't really useful in my case.
You put wrongly the plastic part xdd
You lifted the pads, not the iron. Its you. Obviously you scratch it by its tip hardly.
It depends what makes airflow fro the unit. Some usrs centrifugal fan, others membrane pump. Membrane pump makes "pops" of air that makes work more difficult (it can blow out small elements).
How do you google for spare tips? Is there some special mount specification? What should I google for?
The baku piston will not last longer, I have experience using both for decades and often changing the baku piston head nose
An easy test for fir poorly made or counterfeit tips is to put a magnet to them; bad tips will be magnetic at the far back end of the tip whereas good quality tips will only be magnetic at the pointy end where the solder goes ( I posted a video about this on my channel recently). I don't know where you got the idea that cheap, poorly performing tips are made of or coated with aluminum oxide, because in my experience the crappy tips are made of iron or steel and strongly attracted to a magnet along the entire length of the tip. Good quality tips are made of copper for efficient heat transfer but with several different plating materials, and they MUST be plated with iron at the pointy business end *only* because solder and flux would easily dissolve away bare copper and the tips would have a very short lifespan. The rest of the copper tip is usually plated with chrome or some other shiny metal that resists solder and will not wet to it. The extreme pointy end of the tip, however, will be plated with iron because iron will "wet" to solder yet it resists the dissolving effects of flux and molten tin.
I used ZD-20U (1st one) for 3 years and it died last week. Personally it's quite good for it's price, and also 15sec timeout helps to regulate heat because my old 40W soldering iron doesn't have any temp regulation. Now i have those LCD 60W iron and sometimes i miss ZD-20U. I carried it in my pencil bag sometimes, it's great comfort.
I'm Vietnamese. I just need 10 dolar for diy quick 850a. It very easy for repair and replace. I think all student learn electronics can make this. Sorry because my english. I dont learn 5 years but i can read some textbook, and i study to become a doctor (CAM).
I was looking for the quality one. I just want to get it for desoldering CPU socket(PC motherboard). I dont know which one to get. which one would you recommend to use for motherboard socket desoldering?
I don't agree with you. like mine with fan 700w can remove bigger components like 20 second
