The affirmation of slavery is found in the absence of condemnation. The bible calls everything from eating shellfish to mixing fabrics sinful, but says nothing of the sort about slavery. It calls homosexuality and witchcraft abominations but does not do the same for slavery. The ten commandments say nothing about slavery, other than that thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's property. Instead of prohibiting or condemning slavery, God chose to regulate it. He would not make rules to regulate the practice of slavery unless he believed it was morally acceptable. This Christian man is twisting his mind like a pretzel, and deliberately misinterpreting the words of the bible, in order to claim that God does not "affirm" slavery. Sorry dude, you can't lawyer your way out of God's own words. You either accept His morality (which includes the social acceptance of slavery) or you admit that the God of the bible is immoral.

If only these evangelicals understood our religion the way our clerics understand theirs. It is so tragic to see this deeply mistaken interpretation.

I personally disagree with this notion for a few reasons. Firstly, i do think people should be selective with their sex partners and be picky about who they have sex with. However, getting married does not ensure at all that whoever you marry will somehow permanently the right one for you. People change, and marriages dont always work out. Many have gotten married too quickly and were forced into loveless partnerships because of the legal difficulty of leaving a marriage. Next, I find the vows of marriage arbitrary and over generalized. Different relationships between different people work differently. Some people, for instance, really do just want short term sex, not a relationship. This is fine if they are direct and honest about this. I find no reason that this is amoral or somehow wrong. Lastly, marriage itself is too wide a term. Lets say two people get married at a las vegas drive thru wedding. Are they really married? What about two people who simply promise each other to love the other, is this a marriage? Does it require a priest to certify it? Why? I dont get it. Personally, I disagree

An excellent answer. I am humbled by this because my wonderful partner and I are not married but we have been faithful to each other for almost 16 years. He is very respectful towards me. We are married in all but name. Sadly, my partner has seen many friends and family marriages break up and doesn't feel that marriage necessarily brings about commitment in itself. He is in a wonderful, faithful, kind and compassionate man with great qualities. I hope my Father in heaven approves of this and that it isn't too great a sin. We both feel that we are in this relationship for life.

Hey cliff, i did a study on this and came to a simple conclusion. If God is the only one who offers life then that would make sense he offers then the life after death called the eternal life. Now completely separate from him and what he represents is life, you now have no life. No life does not suggest an ongoing foreverness of lifelessness. Instead it does make more sense that the only way you get a shot of eternity is with him since he is eternal and satan is not. After judgement all wickedness will be wiped clean, also implied suffering and pain will also seize to exist after the books are closed. Scriptures do suggest that the hellfire and lake of fire are eternally burning, but we are also told in several scriptures phrases like “seize to exist” and “perish” as well as i think Isaiah ot prophet and psalms expressing in the promise land the wicked are as ashes under your feet, and the ascension of smoke of their indignation will go up for ever. Signifying that they have pass tense burnt up and the smoke is the witness therefore of that judgement. Now the advocate, if you did burn and are punished for eternity then that dosnt hold water to a JUST God argument. If it were true then a young fella that loved God and kept Gods covenant stole a pencil would get the same punishment as hitler or stalin who killed millions out of cold blood. Yes all sin equals death but if we are going to be judged by our good works then consistency points to the wicked will also be judged by their bad works accordingly. Eternal hellfire and suffering is a flat rate judgement. Chattel slavery is defined as "the enslaving and owning of human beings and their offspring as property, able to be bought, sold, and forced to work. Another definition is: "The condition in which one person is owned as property by another and is under the owner's control, especially in involuntary servitude." Leviticus 25 explicitly describes and condones chattel slavery. "44 Both thy bondmen, and thy bondmaids, which thou shalt have, shall be of the heathen that are round about you; of them shall ye buy bondmen and bondmaids. 45 Moreover of the children of the strangers that do sojourn among you, of them shall ye buy, and of their families that are with you, which they begat in your land: and they shall be your possession. 46 And ye shall take them as an inheritance for your children after you, to inherit them for a possession; they shall be your bondmen for ever: but over your brethren the children of Israel, ye shall not rule one over another with rigour." Under Mosaic law, foreign slaves were chattel slaves. They could be bought, sold, separated from their families, beaten, raped, killed, kept for life, and passed down as inherited property. Every specific reference to foreign slaves in the Bible is to deny them rights and protections afforded to Hebrew slaves. I honestly don't understand why Cliff (and Stewart) are so popular on this subject all of a sudden. They're both absolutely terrible on this? They might be amazing on other subjects, but I happen to have studied this extensively and Cliff is just laughably wrong here. Lev. 25:44-46 is "God telling the Israelites how to treat their slaves"? No, it actually says not one single thing about how you treat your slaves. Not one single thing. What it does do is legalize lifelong chattel slavery, and tell the Israelites who their slaves can and cannot be. Much like American laws in that respect. And Stuart asking why the Black Churches exist if the Bible condoned slavery? What? One has nothing to do with the other. Black churches existing is not some sort of proof that the Bible does not condone slavery. Sorry Stuart. But to honestly answer your question? Most of the Black Christians have no idea that the Bible condones slavery. Not exactly something preached from the pulpit on Sunday mornings you know. And you can tons of videos right here on YT by Black people who left Christianity after learning that it does. And his absolute worst statement in this video? Exodus 21:16 is a condemnation of slavery. A verse that not once even uses the word slavery, condemns slavery. This is where Cliff shows his ignorance on this subject. Kidnapping is not the same as slavery Cliff. Every slave is not kidnapped. 5 minutes of research will tell you that. Kidnapping doesn't even crack the top three ways people became slaves back then. That was debt, war, or simply being born into it. No kidnapping required. A question for Cliff. What about children born into slavery in Israel? Because that's Biblical too. How is a law against kidnapping somehow morph into a condemnation of slavery? It does not. And if Cliff were being honest he'd know that here.

Also during the temptation satan would have never tried to "tempt" god if jesus was god. The father, son, and holy spirit are 3 different entities in my opinion. The book of enoch also states god told enoch he will send his son but never mentions his name. The holy spirit was sent by god to mary.

Jesus is the Savior, God in human flesh. He is not half God and half man. He is fully divine and fully man. In other words, Jesus has two distinct natures: divine and human. Jesus is the Word who was God and was with God and was made flesh (John 1:1, 14). This means that in the single person of Jesus he has both a human and divine nature, God and man. The divine nature was not changed when the Word became flesh (John 1:1, 14 ). Instead, the Word was joined with humanity (Col. 2:9)
