That is good to know. It's interesting, I've been checking blood for many years and have never had this happen before. I do stick on the sides of my fingers at times but I often have poor blood flow and trouble getting blood.

i see, I'll treat this video of yours as a precaution when I'll be attending to my patients on my next shift. It's quite strange aswell as I have never seen such to happen to the extent of blood squinting out in good flow haha. I've tried depth 5 on some patients who have thick skin, and a handful with considerably thin fingerpads, and have never had that happen even with my hardest pressure trying to milk it

Mine didn't feel any deeper than normal. My lancer was set at the same depth as I always keep it. My Dr. asked me the same question.???

Yes, it made me feel weird also. I showed my Dr. and he said it was so strange, he'd never seen anything like that before.

I’ve been a diabetic for years and pricking my finger multiple times a day. I know how to prick my finger. It’s not way too hard. Thank you for your observation but you are incorrect.

why would u be? diabetes is a rare thing, i have it to. + blood is in ur body.

Hi Tim, Dangit!! I am so sorry to hear that! I hope that it was just pressure that was causing your pain and not any damage to the septum or otherwise. I wouldn't wish the pain on anyone. I have a kidney condition which causes me to get lots of kidney stones, I've even had hundreds over 30 yrs and had the kidney stone surgery ten times--so far. The pain from a stone is Horrible and the sinus problem was just as traumatic as most stones I've had. I ended up having reconstructive septum surgery and turbinate reduction surgery about a year ago and am still fighting severe congestion, limited air flow. In addition I also have a hyper-sensitive turbinate in the injured side. The turbinates in your nose are essentially the things that swell up and give you that "stuffy nose" condition when suffering sinus problems, cold, hay fever, etc. My right turbinate was also damaged initially and I really hoped that the surgery would bring me back to normal, but no luck. Every night my right side is so congested that It is useless for getting air. The septum surgery did help by at least allowing some airflow in the left side now. The have even put me on a CPAP machine so that I have positive pressure, warm, moist air to help with the congestion. Not fun. Well Tim, I wish you the best! @@jenjr65 Did they not anaesthetise your nose before they inserted it? Did you have any problems with bleeding post sinus surgery?

The device has a one-way-valve on the end of the tube. On this valve there is a standard luer taper fitting that will screw on to a basic syringe. I had a small syringe that a nurse gave me from the ER. When you attach the syringe it allows you to 'deflate' the balloon by drawing out the plunger in the syringe. This allowed me to completely deflate the balloon. Pretty much any syringe that accepts a needle will attach to the valve fitting. Hope that helps.

I hear you. Not a good experience, that's for sure... I am still dealing with problems and it's been over a year now. I have breathing problems now and continuous sinus infections. I have been told buy the ENT that my version of the septum deviation is as bad as it gets and that I will need surgery to correct my breathing and sinus infections. It has been a real crappy deal all the way around.
