UPDATE : It was the exhaust manifold that was leaking. The metal ticking sound was from the gasket. Changed the whole manifold and the gasket with OEM ones and noise was fix
was that a DIY friendly job? my 2012 corolla has a similar noise. I am worried that it might be the valve train
Hey, what country are you located in? And how much did that cost? I have the same noise I think. Is it more noticeable while accelerating? (Especially at lower rpm)?
Any follow up? What was it?
That’s not an issue. That’s just the engine combusting the fuel. Due to the spark made by the spark plug, it makes 1 small tick sound. This is normal for all cars anyways.
