This is great. I'm beginning a similar project, but on a lower budget - using a bicolor display and an Arduino nano connected to a linux server. Love the colours on yours RGB display - the rain icon looks very nice.

Ah, ik had nou juist de hoop knipperende overweglampen te zullen zien. Knap overigens van de langzaam opgloeiende verlichting bij de 'hangplek' (of wat het ook is) Ik doe het je, met m'n zeer beperkte PIC-kennis niet na. Toppunt van een van m'n modelbouwdenksels is een model van een straatlamp met een natriumdamplamp erin: met een opamp of uC kun je met een rode en gele SMD LED heel aardig het inschakelen en opwarmen ervan nabootsen ;)

ganz nett...aber kleinigkeiten gibt es da noch...Es heißt Sh1 nicht Sh0...und mit der dunkelschaltung gibt es nur bei LZB oder wenn das Signal betrieblich ausgeschaltet ist...aber da gibt es auch das Kennlicht^^aber ich möchte jetzt keinen Vortrag drüber machen...

I can't find if he explcity states he made this out of individual LEDs, but if you wanted to do something similar, you don't have to waste money or time on buying each LED and soldering each. You can buy an 8x8 RGB LED Matrix for $15~$50 depending on interface and drive circuit.

@SuperPRANAS Really that expensive for you? that would cost like 50 dollars here in the states. Even less if you bought in bulk

one question!.. do you use one resistor per led (in the cathode) or one resistor per color (one for each anode)??.. i`m assuming they are common cathode, if not, well its the other way arround jeje.. if you coud tellme the schematics that would be great!!..

Yes, the serial RGB ones with AVR based controller board. I've modified the firmware on that for PWM..
