We just took our boat to Steven's Tigard location to have the Garmin Reactor 40 with GHC 50 installed. We had the TR-1 installed in 2009 and for whatever reason it recently up and stopped working. So looking forward to having the new autopilot and all the new features and similar control of speed and direction of the kicker. Our 2005 Alumaweld Stryker is really all over the place and the TR-1 made life so much better. Plus we landed more fish with better boat control. We used the drop to idle speed when landing a fish and then resume to previous speed to continue trolling. I have been told using a Garmin fish finder gives more features. I mainly want boat control. Also having a autopilot doesn't mean you can go do something with other boats on the water. You still have to focus and make adjustments to avoid other people on the water.

Why would you want tiller on engine like this... Tillers in my opinion are for lower powered motors...

No kill switch and it has cruise control . You can take your hand off of the throttle. That’s perfect

@Stevens Marine Talk with your contacts at Mercury and develop a proximity key for the outboard that way if the driver goes overboard, the outboard dies. Otherwise have owners man up with the kill switch.

Great boat and motor. I agree with the kill switch comments, and I wouldn't allow a passenger to ride sitting on the gunwale.

Would love to get an explanation on why tf anyone needs a 300hp on a boat that size?? I'm running a 225 on a 20ft bass boat doing 70mph. This seems way WAY overkill. I just don't get it.

that power tiller is impressive. boat tech has come a long way but I have a hard time trusting and depending on so much electronics, especially in a saltwater environment. analog will still be my #1 choice.
