It was my Memorial weekend project on of two custom cutting board this weekend. All the hours of work and sanding become very gratifying when you see the oil soak into the wood the first time and all the colors and design come through.

Great vid! Thank you for showing how to make one. What brand of jig head is that?
Do you dye your squirrel tail or buy it pre colored? Was wondering a good way to dye it. Thanks
Good morning!!!
Nice. Where did you get that chenille color?
My vrother is 13 and grapped a 80 pound snapper by its tail and picked it up
Getting the basket they will do sir !
A snapin turll
That’s too pretty to use
No not at all, they are tough I use them all the time. May have one coming your way.
Grate video I will be trying to die my own tails soon . Thinks for the video 👍🏻
I just subscribed like your videos . I to see jigs that catch fish . Keep them coming 👍🏻
Thank you and thank you for watching.
Best looking jigs period!!
Awesome looking!!
Might work on smallmouth bass!
They do for sure.. I have caught pike, walleye and bass on them.. pretty much everything eats them even the ones you don’t want to eat it at times 🤦🏻♂️
Awesome looking jig. Outstanding
Thank you David, also thank you for watching..
Good video and Thanks!!
Thanks so much for watching Michael
I was going to mention throwing a slip cork over the top of them weed beds, but your smarter than the average bear.....😂
Thanks for watching.. it took a little time but it did workout great..
Awesome!! You make the best looking jigs period!!!
Thank you Michael for the kind words.. there are many great tiers out there. I just have a lot time under my belt..
Awesome looking jig, they will work well here in Northern Indiana.
I must say you did a great job
Thank very much and thank you for watching
Wife gets mad at me every time I stop and collect squirrel tails along the road..she does not seem to understand the money saved, the quality of the jigs I make...
John that’s funny right there my friend and yes you saving a bunch
Hot looking jig. Nice tie.
Thank you very much and thank you for watching.
Thanks for sharing JIm. Looks like the '24 season is early this year. My Lilacs bloomed last week. Caught some really nice bluegill and sunnies in Van Buren Co. on May 4.
Mark it’s still cold here in west mi. Water today was like 58 degrees.. fish are setting up but hopefully it will be on fire this next week
Is there a reason why you don’t use flashing material for an add?
Yes, I use flashing on many and probably a great majority of the jigs I tie and sell. However there are times when fish don’t want all the flashing. I did years of testing with that and it’s really dependent on how my flash the body may have in it already.
I also like using my crappie gear to challenge myself bass fishing. It's fun. Be blessed.
WTG Jim 💪🏿
Thanks Mike
Awesome
Thank you Bob
What a great song to show jigs that will mesmerize crappies into a feeding frenzy. Be blessed.
Hahaha true I never thought of it like that.. thanks for watching..
Yes sir welcome my son !!!! Tooo the machine thanks for your time
Sir, if you don't mind me asking, what are you using as the body in these jigs? They look flashy
Squirrel tail and the collar is a flat braided chenille.. I’ll be doing a how to video on these in the next week or so..
@jimchurchilloutdooradventu9851 thank you sir.
Where can I find some Flat braid chenille?
@@TheChadcooley I get mine at a local fly shop it is a harline product I believe. I’m on the road right now but I’ll check when I get home next week and get you an exact place for it
@jimchurchilloutdooradventu9851 thank you so much sir
That was in April 2023
what month was this
Perfect music for these fantastic jigs. Be blessed.
Thank you so much
Beautiful jigs!
Thank you!!
Love it keep up the good work man
Thank you
Wow
Thank you
Nice Hook Vise you have. I like how it turns. The Vise that I have may not turn like yours does. I haven't even looked at it in Decades since I haven't Fly Fished in Decades. Your video is encouraging me to tie Crappie Jigs. So I need to find my Fly Tying Box and give it a try. Thanks for the video.
It’s defiantly addicting as you know if you have tied flys.. the vise I’m using in this video is a Nor-Vise. They are pricey for sure. I also have a Renzetti rotary vise which a a bit more affordable. Thank you so much for watching.
Excellent technique and proportions! Thank you for sharing. A lot of folks try to tie jigs, but few do it correctly. You are a very very good tier
Ron, thank you so much for the kind words and thank you for watching its greatly appreciated.
I knew your good-looking jigs were irresistible. Be blessed.
What about trailering down the road?tips don’t get beat to death?
No I haven’t had a problem at all… Yet!!
I like your work can you tell me with the heat gun what temperature do you set it mine has a digital read out also can you tell me what is your curing process temperature and such thanks for sharing I am new here and I'm a fan thanks
I need to tie some of these hackle jigs without the chenille. Most of my Crappie jigs are saddle hackle with chenille collars.. I don’t know why I don’t tie some like this without. I will do that today. Great looking jig
Yes I personally rarely use chenille on my personal jigs.. normally they are like this or I make a dubbed body.
Nice Jig thank you. What brand uv resin.
It’s called Ion thin
Nice job looks good 👍
Thank you and thank you for watching
I once would teach some of my friends how to use the whip finishing know without a tool. You can go to the internet and learn how to tie it
Knot not know
Geez Thanks Jim you just cost me 40$ for a light & resin lol but I got to make some of these !!
Sorry Michael didn’t mean to sell you glue… but I think you will like it. I hope so anyway..
