      @@Performwellpodcast Cos it doesn't fit your macros. If u are in a defecit then you only have a certain amount of calories to play with . And from that small amount of calories u have to get enough protein first of all . Then some healthy fat cos its essential. Then 5 portions of fruit n veg for vitamins and minerals. And then enough wholegrains for energy and fibre Once you've cover all of those bases there's no calories left. The only way u can fit in some choclate, or whatever other junk food it is that u like to eat , is at the expense of one of the things I mentioned above (protein carbs fats or fruit n veg ) But u do not want to sacrifice any of those things for some high calorie zero nutrient processed junk cos its just worth it. And those things, protein carbs fats fruit n veg , are too valuable For examplr if u dont get enougb protein u can lose muscle. Dont get enough essential fat then u can get heart disease. Dont get enough carbs u can get tired and constipated. Dont get enough fruit n veg u can get sick So why sacrifice any of those things for something that tastes nice for a moment and then is gone in the blink of an eye ? Pointless. Junk food has no nutritional value and is super high in calories. And it can lead to addiction and falling off the wagon. For example if you allow yourself 1 chocolate bar per day that fits into your calories then when u eat it u'll want a second bar then a 3rd. Cos that's how those foods work - they're highly addictive. Once u give in and have the second bar you've blown your calorie defecit. And then the next day u start getting cravings for all other sorts of junk food like pizza takeaways fizzy drinks etc. Then u fall off the wagon. That all started with allowing yourself just 1 chocolate bar per day e.g iifym. Its like an alchoholic allowing himself 1 drink per night. It will spiral out of control And also even if you allow yourself just some choclate everyday that fits into your calories that will still have a negative effect on your health. For example if you have high blood pressure then that will increase your blood pressure for sure Rather than iifym your best approach is to follow the 80/20 rule. Eat 80% clean and 20% junk food . But heres the key : do it on a WEEKLY basis rather than a DAILLY basis. So that would mean eat clean 6 days per week . Thats your 80%. And have 1 refeed day at maintenance calories per week. Thats your 20%

    • @nick7493
      @nick7493 3 месяца назад

      @@oscarduke7946get what your saying however we say it’s about the 80/20 rule in our video. We agree that eating good quality food most of the time is better BUT it is not essential. There have been many cases of obese people losing weight whilst eating just McDonald’s and still having better health markers than before. Does it mean that should apply to everyone? No. We should aim to get most of our calories in the form of good quality food where possible and not feel shame or guilt for having something not so good every now and then. It’s the shame & guilt that leads to relapses. Also if you eat enough protein, fats & fruit you CAN definitely still have calories leftover in a deficit 👌🏼 Example: 2800 calorie deficit for myself 200g protein (2000 calories left) 100g fat (1100 calories left) 1100 calories is 275g carbs which 3 peices of fruit won’t even touch. Yes that is an exception deficit for myself but I’ve seen others with lower deficits get by on 1600 with high protein, high fat and carbs still. But we definitely agree on 80/20

    • @oscarduke7946

      @@nick7493 Yes u can lose weight on mcdonalds but its not ideal. And if somebody's health is OK after losing weight on mcdonalds it doesnt mean its gonna last . If you continue eating that way its only a matter of time b4 your health starts to decline I had high blood pressure. I got it down to 120/80 through eating clean 6 days per week and have 1 refeed day were i indulged in a bit of junk food. Once my bp was normal I decided to give myself a bit of leeway by eating a bit of chocolate everyday which fitted into my calories. After just one week of doing that my bp had shot up quite significantly . These foods just are not good for your health its as simple as that Not many people are gonna be in a defecit with 2800 calories. Thats a surplus for most people And what about wholegrains ? U said u had a certain amount of calories left with 3 prices of fruit would touched. But what about wholegrains. People don't get all of their carbs from fruit. And if you think you are gonna eat fruit and then get the rest of your carb sources from junk food then you are missing out on the low glycemic energy and fibre that wholegrains provide And yes 80/20 is correct if you use iifym but my point is u don't want to do it on a DAILLY basis. Cos like I said u cant fit it in dailly and if you do its at the expense of other important macros and it puts u at risk of addiction and health problems. If you're gonna do 80/20, which u should, then do it WEEKLY

      @@Performwellpodcast Hypercarnivore is 70%+ meat, that is what we as humans have evolved on and we can see this through our physiology and stable isotope testing. We are able to get every single nutrient out of muscle meat, NO EXCEPTION. As for the guy behind the "carnivore diet" I think your referring to Paul Saladino, the reason he's against it is because he's a moron 🤣🤣🤣. Firstly, the reason he had "electrolyte issues" was because he had copper toxicity from how much liver he was consuming. If you were hunting and were to kill an animal, a bison for example, take a look at the ratio of it's liver to the whole animal, and when you look at this you will see that the muscle meats would have been the main focal point of our diet and NOT liver. Another thing would be that he was PROBABLY not consuming enough protein in one sitting. When you do this, you will not get the necessary small insulin bump to retain electrolytes. The way Saladino is eating now is completely ruining him. He downplays the effects of the Randle Cycle (cross inhibition of both Carbs and Fats, IMPORTANT!!!), he somehow says sugar from fruits is not the same as processed sugar 🤣🤣, he thinks the HbA1c test picks up fructose (which is doesn't), he is unable to understand scientific literature, he seems to have forgotten just how dangerous excess DEUTERIUM is on the human body (glucose, a hydrated hydrocarbon, has around 150ppm, fats , a hydrocarbon, have around 120-130ppm)
