7:20 I believe Kodama's parents abandoned Kodama as a baby in the mountain due to having too many babies (due to the effects of the mountain), but they took Kodama back after they lost their other children. Ginko calls it selfish because the parents were cruel to abandon a BABY in the mountain to die in the first place.

This episode is PEAK, so much cool mushishi stuff happening all over it

I think I mostly like this episode for the return of Dr. Adashino, Ginko's collector friend. :D But I understand, they can't all be winners! I think the overall theme is pretty simple, "responsibility".

I remember watching these episodes the first time, as you watch the end credits, you just feel like you need to sit back and be zen with it. Very opposite of the usual EXCITING THINGS ALL THE TIME anime out there that are easy to ~react~ to :D But I appreciate your thoughts!
