Every Friday morning 3 diesel trash trucks (trash, recycle, & things that won't fit in the bin) circle clumsily around my cul-de-sac, backing and ooching to pick up their designated loads. The diesel stink and noise, well it just won't do for my quiet suburban life. Bring on the EV trash trucks!

Im a EV owner and found them to be a great addition and cost saving to my life. Been a mechanic and worked on enough engines that are due to fail and can be timed to fail. You can also plan the dealer visits and all the attempts to add additional services each time you go in... Hydrogen is a costly fuel

My only surprise was that the dump trucks have 500 and 665kWh battery packs. Sure it is a heavy vehicle, and it has additional trash lifting and compacting duties. But the Tesla Semis are carrying HUGE, Heavy loads, hundreds of miles. And you mentioned that the average garbage carrier route is around 100 miles. It just seems like overkill to me. Much like a hydrogen powered tank!

The thing I can't reconcile is Musk trying to save the world from climate change vs. Trump being a climate change denier. I heard someone say that Musk aligns with him because of free speech, but Trump keeps talking about prosecuting journalists and turning the military against the "enemy within" (citing democrats like Pelosi) - not a lot of free speech protection to be found there.

Bought a new car couple months ago. Opted against getting a Tesla because of Musk.

Tesla is doing well, but we do not know how much better it could be doing without Elon's nutty conspiracy theory spreading and frankly crazyness. Hopefully the Tesla Board will control him a bit more, or move him to head of technology and get a new CEO. Most CEOs do not get into politics, so they can sell to everyone.

Saw this mess coming and sold my tesla stock 1.5 years ago. Its no wonder Musk and Rump found each other. Musk, is just like Rump in the sense that everything they touch eventually dies. Business 101 for CEOs is stay out of politics. Just ask former CEO of Papa Johns, or Overstock, etc...

We had a Model Y and a Bolt. But the Bolt was totaled in an accident (everyone's ok). My kids refuse to drive a Tesla. It's Musk without a doubt. It doesn't matter that they know Teslas are a better vehicle overall.

Let's see here. Republicans tend to hate electric vehicles. Democrats tend to love electric vehicles. Musk goes all in on the most hated man in history by democrats, but expects they'll still buy Teslas. I don't think this guy is that smart anymore.

Tesla is definitely losing sales as it comes up all the time in conversations in person, on Reddit and here you RUclips. The question is how much. I’m actually surprised Tesla sales are as good as they are considering how much Elon has thrown in with Trump. But yes, there is no way Tesla isn’t losing sales. It’s one thing to have political views, it’s another to be donating millions and acting a a propaganda machine for a candidate.

I find Elon's support for Trump very odd, an enigma of sorts. Trump, and MAGA by extension, have stated that they are categorically opposed to EVs and anything "sustainable". These positions are diametrically opposed to Elon's stated positions and Tesla's Mission Statement, not to mention Elon used to support Democrats. So WHY would Elon support Trump/MAGA? There is an old saying "Keep your friends close but keep your enemies closer". Think of it this way: if Elon openly "supports" Trump/MAGA, then if Trump wins the election, Elon, and by extension Tesla & SpaceX, stand a far better chance of survival and NOT being attacked by Trump administration and/or Project 2025. But if Elon openly supports the Dems, then a Trump administration and Project 2025 would likely be extremely hostile towards Tesla & SpaceX. That said, in the event Trump loses, then the only bad juju Elon faces is having pissed off the Dems. But I think it would be highly unlikely that the Harris administration and Dems in Congress would go for retribution against Elon and/or Tesla & SpaceX. They might slap Elon on the wrist for behaving like an a-hole but Elon is not the type of person that cares about his optics IMHO. If he did care then you'd think he would not post so many stupid opinions on X. My basic question regarding Elon's support for Trump comes down to "Is Elon doing this as a way to protect Tesa & SpaceX in the worst-case scenario of a Trump win in the election?" Other possibilities to explain Elon's support for Trump and MAGA are that Elon could, at some point, covertly sabotage the Trump campaign to ensure a Trump loss -or- covertly sabotage the Trump administration from within if Trump wins. These are not conspiracy theories, rather, they are my thoughts on how to explain Elon's seemingly contradictory behaviour. One frightening possibility is that Elon has, in fact, lost his mind and got sucked into the MAGA cult with little hope of escape. Time will tell but, then again, perhaps we may never know. That's my two scents💩💩😁

Elon has made it clear he supports Trump to reduce waste in govt. Trump has more nefarious plans. So, I am not sure how long he would last, since he has quit once before.

I almost bought a 2024 Model 3 but Elmo's right wing toxicity cured me of that. Even with all of the incentives it wasn't worth it. There are still the pathetic RUclipsTesla pumpers, possibly becoming accessories to fraud. It doesn't cost much to be a Tesla pumper, only your dignity. Tesla's board of directors are failing in their fiduciary responsibilities be not removing Elmo. Elmo is showing his Afrikaner heritage, which is disgusting.

Trump is anti-EV, Musk is obviously pro-EV, it's hard to see how Musk reconciles this difference to himself, unless he sees a loss in Tesla value to be offset by other benefits he will get from a Trump dictatorship. Interesting to see the solar-powered school buses, I was talking about these a year or more ago and getting scorn from some, but it/'s now a thing. We'll see how they do in the winter with less solar power being generated, but to me with any vehicles that do stop-start driving in city conditions, it only makes sense to go electric. I'd like to see UPS and USPS start replacing their ancient fleet with electric vehicles, as Amazon is doing.

My next vehicle will be a Tesla, but I understand why people have stopped buying Teslas because of Musk's politics. It makes me sad to see where Musk has evolved to. I think his strengths as a tech entrepreneur and engineer are incredible weaknesses when he deals with people and politics. As a neurodivergent person, I think he has trouble understanding people's motivations and relies too much on what they say. In a corporate environment, he has feedback that can be used to evaluate performance - cause & effect is easy to see quickly. Politics is the exact opposite. People lie or shade the truth, and performance is obscured by complex political processes and a tenuous connection between actions and results. A savvy manipulator like Trump sees Musk as an easy mark with lots of cash to throw around. Musk succeeds with technology because he is an iconoclast. In politics, iconoclasts tend to adopt conspiracy theories. This is one of Musk's biggest failings. Musk's reliance on first principles and his unique mix of ruthless execution and avoidance of sunk cost fallacies has turbocharged the world's transition to renewable energy and will transform humanity into a space-fairing species. He is astounding wherever a technology-based solution is possible. Musk’s political radicalization shows his failure in applying first principles to X and politics. He correctly identified "truth" as the foundation for effective discussion, collaboration, and decision making (especially in politics). Unfortunately, X hasn't been able to implement an effective way to filter out untruths. X is a meme amplification engine, and memes are the opposite of truth because the most viral memes trigger emotions that inhibit rational thought. Musk is a meme-meister with troll tendencies, so he seems especially prone to these emotional triggers. Malign actors in all social media use memes to amplify untruths much faster than less engaging truth can spread. Musk is a victim of this. I quit following Musk on X because he spreads ridiculous “Replacement Theory” memes coupled with racism-tinged anti-woke messaging. Conspiracy theories are simplistic, emotion-triggering, tropes that make communication about issues impossible. I doubt he is conscious of his racial biases, but he grew up in apartheid South Africa, where racism was far more culturally embedded than in the USA. It makes me so sad to see such naivete from a person who has so much to offer the world.

Yes, no question, Musk's adoration and love for the criminal Trump, is hurting Tesla sales in North America and will continue to sink Tesla, especially with more competition. I own 2 Tesla Model Y's, which I bought when Musk promised to stay politically neutral, well, he lied, and I plan to see both of my Tesla's, asap, and buy other EV's and would NEVER consider buying another Tesla, until Musk leaves the company.

Yes, it's hurting Tesla and it's shareholders. He is damaging the brand. I'm a long time Tesla supporter and investor and have campaigned for Tesla at my state capital before. I try to separate the company from the man, but I have to admit, I've already dumped all my Tesla investments and every day I like driving my Tesla less as the negative association it conveys grows. Highly unlikely I will ever buy a Tesla again, unless Tesla separates itself from Elon or Elon comes to his senses and focuses on the company again, and not engaging in politics and political deception; his PAC is running ads that say opposite things to target specific communities; it's entirely deceitful and reflects badly on Tesla.
