I originally got two of them, ended up with two more sets of the goblins from a friend who got out of the hobby.

@@kal_spriggs You're right on both counts. It has been awhile. Island of Blood was the 8th Ed. starter box. If I was a dwarf player I would have to start working on a mohawk.

I'd really considered a "beach" style basing for the army, but I want to make a big raider ship as their display board and these will go well with that. Also, it takes a special sort of insanity to drive chariots on the deck of a ship, which pretty much matches the Dark Elves.

I used Army Painter Gunmetal, I like that it's a bit subdued.

I hadn't thought to check until you asked. Yes, the open tray will fit a standard Rhino, complete with dozer blade. You'd just need to select taller supports for it from the kit. Great idea!

@@kal_spriggs Sweet! Im in the process of building a GSC army and the trucks are going to be a transport issue at some point!

Thanks! Yeah, I fully intend to take advantage of contrast paints to try and get them done as quickly as I can manage. I'm impressed with the enamel painting, I started that way with my long-lost High Elf army.

Enamel paints is what I started with all those years ago, but are hard graft and too thick for modern fine castings. However, the old metal figures are rough as heck, so the enamels cover them well. Metal and enamels shred paint brushes too. Shortly, I will have finished and can't wait to change paint systems. Change topics too. I'm a painter not game player. Its a hobby, and stress reliever. I would put 3/4 of your army away, and have only one regiment on the paint desk. For everyone finished take out another. Too much out to do is too daunting. ATB @@kal_spriggs

That's what I ended up doing for my Land Raider Spartan. (It's a bit hard to tell, but I also did it on the other Contemptor). I am also Alpharius, brother. ;)
