New Year's Eve & The "DESHUN" Hyundai
Просмотров 6 тыс.4 года назад
New Year's Eve, a 4 car wreak occurred on Kanis road near Chenal parkway. A black Hyundai with the custom license plate "DESHUN" decided to unsafely swing in front of my vehicle on Kanis road, forcing me momentarily over the double yellow lines to avoid hitting them. I hit my horn and "DESHUN" decided to stop on the roadway, in the rain, to flip me off. Others behind me, not expecting to stop i...

it was so easy to avoid this without any time lost but the guy didn't want to allow Hyundai to pass, feeling like a loser he pushed the horn like it was a matter of life and death there. after 2 fails in 30 seconds i think karma showed him a sign

Looks to me you could have simply allowed the Hundai driver to merge as he clearly paused his speed within your view before you layed on your horn for several seconds. He was running out of road at that point and had no choice but to cut in a little tight. Who’s to say the drivers behind you who were following too close didn’t also refuse to let him merge? I’ve found myself in that same situation several times and there isn’t much choice but to move up for hopefully better luck or pull to a stop. So ask yourself, had you simply slowed a bit to let the guy merge (you saw him, he was no longer in your blind spot) and not escalated things by laying on the horn for several seconds, would there still have been an accident?

Lol or the driver who recklessly merged in front of a car that he should have tried to merge behind, could have not broken the law and did a full stop on a major road way causing an accident due to the winding road and rain. He could have also stayed at the scene of an accident that he caused. It is a crime to drive away. If you think the guy is simply at fault for honking then I really hope you never drive

@@syaoran1990 Not a very bright response and you clearly didn't read my full post -- we have no way of knowing whether Deshun tried to merge earlier, but considering the tightness of traffic (which was responsible for the collisions), it's not hard to envision that he had earlier difficulty merging. These are the simple, inarguable, facts based on the video evidence... When Deshun comes into view on the right, he is clearly visible to the driver of the truck, clearly has his left blinker on, and clearly has no other places to go. Deshun PAUSES for second to see if the driver of the truck will decelerate a bit to allow him to merge, which the truck driver obviously could have chosen to do, and which is required by law in some states at the risk of incurring fines. The driver of the truck instead begins a very rude extended honk just a millisecond before Deshun shoots forward to merge. The truck driver's extended use of the horn was improper and escalated the situation. There are those folks who feel personal indignity when others need to merge ahead of them, as if they are cutting in line, and they are willing to let them run off the road rather than merge -- I've experienced that kind of road bully behavior several times. Deshun shouldn't have stopped in the middle of the road but it wouldn't have happened had the truck driver not bullied him by misusing his horn. Regarding his leaving the scene, Deshun wasn't legally responsible for the accident, and we can't prove that he actually witnessed it. However, if I was a young black man in Arkansas being bullied on the road by an angry white guy in a truck (we have more of those than I can count), I wouldn't want to get out of the car and face him either.

@@riprokken4697 lol "not a very bright response" the only "not very bright" response is the one from the person trying to convince people on the internet that because we can't see behind the vehicle it nullifies all the responsibilities of the person merging 🤦‍♂️ again please never drive. Also refrain from sending novels, I can only stomach reading this crap so much.

@@syaoran1990 Tell me sir, how many drivers have responsibility in negotiating a successful merge? Is it only the person trying to merge? It’s ok to Google if you need to.

@@riprokken4697 Where I live, yes it is. You try to be condescending to me by telling me to use google but maybe you should go look because just to prove you wrong, here is the first thing I found for you: Once you're in a lane, you have control over that lane. Any time another driver is trying to get into your lane, they're required to wait until it's safe. That means they can't just turn on their signals and expect you to yield to them. They have to slow down and, if necessary, come to a complete stop. Drivers of merging vehicles could be charged if they butt in when it's not clear - even if you hit the merging vehicle from behind, police say. "Drivers in the lane do not have to yield to traffic that's merging," says Toronto Police Const. Clint Stibbe.

As much as DESHUN is a sonofabitch, at least one of the drivers behind you deserves just as much scorn, for being so distracted that they managed to run into something right in front of them even with your horn warning them that something's up. The wet road is not an excuse - anybody with an ounce of sense knows that you need to leave yourself more stopping room when it's slick out.

We have a similar 2-to-1 lane merge in this area and the vast majority of people seem to ignore the fact that if they are in the lane with the merge arrows (aka. the lane that ends), they do NOT have the right of way. It's caused a few wrecks already.
