    Hey did you disconnect original fuel pump? Whats the setup for fuel please?

    • @wudword
      @wudword Год назад

      Yes. I replaced it with a universal electric fuel pump that i got from amazon. I placed a T before the fuel regulator to the fuel return since the pump i got does not have a pressure shut off. I set the fuel pressure to 2.5 psi. I will be making a video of my set up.

  • @insertnamehere34944
    @insertnamehere34944 Год назад

    Oh quick question: How is the fuel system routed? Like, does it go from the electric fuel pump, to a "T" so it has the return line, and then the pressure regulator & carb? Or how did you set it up? Curious, I plan on keeping the mechanical pump setup but I may go the electric route.

    • @wudword
      @wudword Год назад

      I placed a T from the fuel pump for the return before the pressure regulator. The return line is smaller than the line that goes to the carb so the carb bowl will fill first. I had it set to 2psi. It’s ugly but it works alright 😅

      @@wudword Oh I forgot, last set of question(s), how does the car perform with the 38? Good acceleration, no stumbling / bogging down under throttle? Did you use the jetting that it came with from eBay or did you swap the jets, if so, to what sizes?

    • @wudword
      @wudword Год назад

      @@insertnamehere34944 with the original jets the carb came with (main jet 145, idle jet 45, air jet 170) still able to run but the car jumps with a slight step on the gas pedal. Also i couldn’t drop the idle lower than 800 rpm without idling roughly. Temporarily i had to close the idle needle on one barrel and just tune the idle from the other barrel for it to idle 600-700 rpm and not run so rich. The gains are noticeable.. not craziness but noticeable. I just put in new jets(main140,idle40,air200) starts right away with no problem. Better acceleration not jumpy. I might go lower on the main jet. I wanna try running leaner on higher rpm

    • @insertnamehere34944
      @insertnamehere34944 Год назад

      @@wudword Ayy gotcha! I run manual myself, so a slightly higher idle wouldn't be an issue for me, sounds like the jets out of the box is a pretty decent match. Though if not for me (potential differences in elevation and such) glad these clones fit OG weber jets & jet kits are very cheap

    • @insertnamehere34944
      @insertnamehere34944 2 года назад

      @@wudword Definitely! Sounds like you got it tuned near perfect without one, sounds like you're idling right about upper ~800rpm, and your revs were around.. 3000-4000? Oh and so you know in the future, when installing the tach, you can literally hook the tachometer's sensor / signal wire directly into that plug that dangles off the radiator-side of the distributor with the single slot in the barrel plug, since that's a RPM diagnostic plug from factory. It's what I did on my 4A-F, worked like a charm!
