@@asingh82 as long as it's clean first you could! And a rinseless wash would be ok but you'd need several microfibers to wipe it off, Wax off is very pasty if that makes sense

@@delcorick9967 well it was $55,000 new, it’s not just a regular Cherokee, it’s a loaded out overland model. It’s also my wifes. I am a firm believer and I tell all our customer and potential customers this, since a vehicle is the second biggest investment we make in our lives. Protecting them and get the most of out it’s condition at trade in or resale is essential. Nothing will protect an exterior like a coating will. Even if i had a 25 year old work car that wasn’t a rust bucket. I’d polish and coat the thing to protect it. Idc if it’s a cheap Nissan versa new or a brand new high end Aston Martin or Lamborghini. Lemme guess, you long term rent cars? Some people buy new cars every 5-7 years. They meticulously maintain them, because they own them. 95% of high end vehicles are leases. Imagine coating a rental car.

@@jeffc6832 it got a full decon, iron remover, clay, at that time we used 3D compounds and polishes and used Angelwax Perfect Polish to jewel piss out of it ... and panel prep I'm 90% sure I used PDP Panel Wipe (which I've used for years for non fireball coatings with no issues) but there is a chance I used fireball reborn ... I did do a 5 part video series of going after it, buying it and making it look as perfect as possible without your ego getting in the way ... now we are Angelwax compounds and polishes (believe they are better and we all know how much of a chore 3D one is to wipe off) .... As for the process to install it, used the foam applicator, but when it was applied it disappeared not flashed within seconds of application which I thought was weird but was the first time using it and all coatings are different and it was easy, but it didn't stay wet like I've seen in other videos and then flash off and disappear - it disappeared within 15 seconds of application ... was 70-75° on the day of application - nothing there than the way it disappeared so far to (at least now) to raise a concern over. I might have to do a part three follow up because it rained the other day at lunch while I had it and it looked like it was suddenly beating the water again, but I don't know we'll have to wait and see While I love a lot of DIY products as a business, I can't in good faith buy stuff you could only buy in 16 ounce bottles we have to have minimum of gallons of the stuff. It's just not cost effective and TacSystem water spot remover is legit stuff - lot of tac products are

@@RobFarnhamit's gets an mild iron removing soap as part of the presoak and the finish is smooth - no bonded contaminants... why risk using abrasive clay when it doesn't need it - but in any case it still LOOKS great but zero hydrophobics of any kind some I'm as stumped as anyone else! And yes initially was full iron remover and clay before installing the coating!Thanks for watching

Doesn’t sound like you did a full surface prep. Can’t really blame the product if it wasn’t applied according to the directions.

@@The_Cyberz absolutely did ...full deon .. wet sanding (in some areas) polishing - panel prep you name it ... as a former auto refinisher and still ASE certified refinishing technician I can promise you corners don't get cut when applying a coating - it didn't in my painting days and doesn't now - there's a 5 part video series on everything we did to this like 30 videos ago or so and have installed probably near 300 - 400 coatings at this point ... fhanks for watching

When it was installed it disappeared almost instantly on the panel when it was installed I just attributed that to the way it behaved - but after watching a few other videos of installs, it disappeared way faster than I've seen so idk .. maybe ? @@DelgadoDetailing that's what I think because even when you look at the application of this coating in other videos, when I applied it, it disappeared within 15 seconds of applying it .. and in a 70-73° shop that day I thought it was odd but first time applying that coating - so you know how coatings do different things when applying - never really gave it a thought until recently, when I did maintenance on it in Feb this year it was still beading like crazy and looking good so 🤷🏻‍♂️ - thanks for watching and your feedback!

@knightautopcd yeah that's weird. It definitely did not disappear that quickly when I installed it. Sadly, most companies will blame user error before even considering it could've been a bad batch

It does help when a vehicle is virgin / brand new, never been washed since the dealer (which lets be honest could do serious damage even after one wash) it was pretty darn near flawless, but even lightly polishing will take the gloss to the stratosphere ... And for traffic film remover / prewash we use a combination of bolt hamber auto fom plus xtreme solutions bio clean mixed in 2 oz to .5 oz in a foam cannon Our strip wash is Vonixx Citron strip wash plus an oz of vonixx impact - if the water doesn't fill stay dead on a panel we'll use fireball wax off just to make sure ... The tool on one battery only lasted about 35 mins, you'll need two battery and they took roughly 50 mins to and hour to charge - polisher didn't stall because it's a rotary only a da would actually stall out - thanks for your feedback

I know for a fact when we polish the charcoal gray or black diamond painted glossy surfaces around the bottom of the fenders the doors all the way around etc. Watch the gloss jump just a minor light polish to make sure it was completely free even though we did all those other steps and I knew right then they didn't do sh*t to that thing AT ALL ... absolutely ridiculous, but I have heard from the owner that the dealership outsourced it to another shop but it wasn't us we don't do half ass work like that

Did not use diy panel prep, as you cannot buy it in gallons - you're strapped to pint bottles and as a business model paying $250 a gallon via 16 oz is insanse but, even take Brian over at Apex he uses one brand of prep for any coating he does so that doesn't worry me that much - and we either used fireball reborn or pdp panel wipe - done 100's of coatings with either never an issue

Not yet but we are going to, we did use our strip wash on it to remove any existing toppers off of it to see what we were working with so when we did the equivalent of carpro descale we knew there wasn't any existing toppers present - We did top it with Ceramic gloss then just to give it some sort of protection if the coating had truly failed It's the vehicle I'll get it back here as soon as I can we've exploded with business so it might be a few weeks before I get the follow up filmed and posted

@@knightautopcd Yeah just know Descale isn’t the best at descaling. In fact if I was you I’d use Owners Pride “Spotless” after a full chemical decon before declaring it dead. Especially if you used a topper on it which are significantly weaker and will clog and hold on to minerals. Which need to be cleaned monthly unless it has signs of proper protection. But yeah man good luck to you on your mission.

@@AmirAbdullah it was actually Fireball PH3 but yeah the full chemical decon has been done minus the water spot remover… i did look at it after driving over the weekend it did have some water spots BUT it did rain so idk if they were just fresh from the rain or were already there, but I doubt the latter I would’ve seen them 🤷🏻‍♂️… we shall see

Yes but it was a saturating wipe down most preps wont remove protection but you still want to be mindful, usually what I do is if I see an area I may have missed wiping an slightly heavier spray will go there and just a 50-60% amount you'd normally use - thanks for watching and your feedback!

Thanks for the feedback, it was the socket the two prongs needed to be 1mm or so closer together it truly wouldn't FIT in the slots And we are a no frills channel - what you see is what you get - I did say it took about 10 mins to remove and reinstall and when you're dealing with delicate parts or sensitive areas the last thing you want to do is rush! That was used AFTER your normal ph neutral and is meant to unclog a coating, now certain shampoos that are formulated to remove waxes and sealants will def get removed depending on tbe ph scale but typically those are in the 9-10 range on the ph scale which actually makes them alkaline but this was ph 3 ... and for watching!

you are terribly wrong. An acid based shampoo will NOT damage a coating in anyway. Even if the shampoo claims its a low PH of say 3 by the time you add in the water its probably closer to a pH of 5. Most acid based shampoos I would consider are for light decon and do not dig in deep to unclog or remove minerals like a water spot remover will do for the coating

That's all water spot remover is, acidic soap. It may kill some weak coatings, 8 year should not be considered a weak coating.

BC3 is a topper, and since enigma AIO has ceramic protection infused, it kind of acts as a primer polish even tho it really isn't - don't get me wrong but we wouldn't recommend this with a 3 or 5 year coating but moonlight or even BC2 that only has a expected lifespan of 6-9 mo / - year respectively it's just the cherry on top ... thanks for your questions / feedback and of course watching!
