Buyers flocked away in droves from the ‘69. The taillights visible in the side view made the car look shorter and Cadillac buyers stayed away. That’s why for ‘70 Cadillac tacked on that hastily designed side piece. Ugly, buy restored the appearance of length.

Such a fine car. Gave a smooth ride. Not cheap. Not rich enough at the time. 😢

I graduated high school in north central California in 1967 where owning a convertible is NOT a sign of insanity. There’s a LOT of sunny weather and gorgeous moon-lit nights. My hometown…Ripon…was and is the “Almond Capital” of the world. To this day I still don’t know his name but one of the hard-working farmers well-known to the whole community knocked around town as needed in a plain old pickup. But he and his beautiful wife and their stop-you-in-your-tracks daughter would, on special occasions such as Almond Blossom Festival, cruise into town on a moonlit night in a magnificent Cadillac convertible like this one. Need I tell you they stopped traffic?

Olds' 1969 lineup was really the peak for good looks and quality of build. I had nearly forgotten about this particular model and how great it looked. Really beautiful car.

My father owned a 63 starfire convertible. I loved that car.

I still find GM styling to be at its peak during the Mitchell years of the sixties. And this fascinating color! Hard to pin down a description for it.

They NEVER bring these up but they look BETTER than many cars from that era
