शिवभक्त सईदुद्दिनजी
More peace to you the person on the Tanpura😂!
What a treasure! Just listening to the tradition of learning music feels like a blessing. Feel blessed to listen to Ustad Ji's wisdom.
It is not gankali but Gunakri . Please correct. * Dr Ishwarchandra Ramchandra karkare MBBS, MD, MA vocal music desciple of ustad saiduddin dagar sahab
Ustad Ji was a Great Soul, He lives on in this world due to his soulful performance.
Sounds like a recording transcription of World Pacific LP 1965 at UCLA including repeats.
That sitar's sympathetic strings never ring. Why is that 😢
Rest in peace 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 guru deva we still learn from you from the knowledge you gave the way you taught is amazing

Ustad saiduddin dagar sahab was not only a great dhrupad singer but was a great guru also . Once for my utter surprise the great guru came to Gwalior from Pune , to our house ( although we were not well known to each other ) but He was so simple , He himself said ", doctor , open your music room , I will teach you !" Due to my hospital duties , I could not give much time for tuning of tanpura , but he said your tanpura is one of the best I have seen . He just tuned it with in two minutes without much efforts , He was a great master of tanpura tuning . Then he taught me rag malkauns and rag chandrakauns . He was very simple , kind and loving person. *Dr Ishwarchandra Ramchandra Karkare , Pathologist and classical singer.

Through his teachings this paints an immortal portrait of the master 🙏🏼
He is the very essence of Rudra, the spirit that prevails and ensconces our universe. The voice is majestic, humble and deeply reverberates the nad brahma that envelops our universe. Immortal and legendary, the voice of ustad sayeeduddin Dagar. The family is a national treasure and should be awarded the bharat ratna at the family level.

His explanation of DI...TRI... CHAR PATI (i.e repeating a phrase twice, thrice or 4 times) at 13:47 sourced from Vedic chanting is so inspiring ! Let alone his rendering and how he perceives it from our modern days. Thanks for posting. You made my day :)
both r outstanding. Ken remind me AAK . God bless him.
The most eclectic and precious wine on the earth
He is a living God of Dhrupad. His wisdom should be recorded and archived for future generations. Please, try to upload more interview of this Guru.
About 25 years ago I had a chance to sit with these two fellows Chaudhury and Zuckerman, playing the Tambura while they played a concert at Swarthmore College. One of the highlights of my life! My legs fell asleep within about 15 minutes since I wasn't used to sitting still in a cross-legged position. I spent the whole time dreading what would happen at the end when I had to stand up again. =) I told Ken about it afterwards, he said, "oh yeah - sitting on the rug, that's the hardest part." ;-)
