Reminder that I must practise!!! Europe - The Final Countdown (Cover)
The Final Countdown Cover. of this Classic 80s Rock Tune. Very little prep for this one.... decided just to go for it. A few small mistakes but I wanted to keep those in. I used a Brian May tone for this one just because I liked it! also used a couple of cameras so I could learn how to sync them - two video and two audio tracks.

The google maps link is for the Rebellion way.
Thanks, I've updated it. Please let me know if it's working for you?
Excellent video and editing. What cameras did you use and how did you manage to keep your batteries charged?
@redo109 thank you. I used a Go Pro Hero 12, which has 3 batteries and was enough power to record the 6 days without recharging, 128Gb memory card. I also carried 2x 26000mah battery bank power just in case. My drone is a DJI Mini 4 which also has 3 batteries also 128gb memory card. I recharged one battery but again there was more than enough power... I had an anker wall charger that runs 3 x USB and could have used one of the places I stopped to eat and recharge. I'm new to editing so I really do appreciate your input.
@@ISF77 Thanks for the info Ian, pretty good battery management to last the whole ride. I have one 10,000mah battery I use to keep my GpPro 10 running on long rides might be worth investing in another. I thought maybe you were using an Insta 360 camera because of the smooth pans to the side and rear. I did some bikepacking about 20 years ago before retirement and would like to do some more now. Your setup looked nice and compact have you thought about a video showing how you pack everthing and what equipment you use for the trips. Cheers and keep up the good work Richard
@@redo109 The GoPro Hero 12 doesnt have any GPS so it doesnt drain the battery is reduced compared to previous versions. I have additional content planned to compliment the NC500 videos but will only release when I have more time to do a good job with them. I also have a few more "excursions" planned in the next few weeks so will see what I can do.
foorpaths are what they say FOOT not bike,
Hi kevin, if you're referring to the sign at 6:56 then this is part of the recognised route from www.cyclinguk.org/route/wolf-way (Google Co-Ordinates appx 52.134698, 1.508635). On the Open street maps it highlights this part as a local cycleway on the wolf way - www.openstreetmap.org/#map=15/52.1416/1.4971&layers=C On the Rendlesham / Tunstall forestry commission plan (2021 - 2031) it has this part of the route listed as a "public right of way" listed as the "viking trail shortcut"; The viking trail is a recognised cycling route consult.forestryengland.uk/forest-districts/rendlesham-and-tunstall-forest-plan-2021-2031/supporting_documents/Rendlesham%20%20Tunstall%20Plan%2020212031.pdf. Also Strava sees this as a cycleable route (it wouldnt allow it to be plotted if you could not)I hope that this satisfies your concerns everything about this part of the route is above board. If not, then it may be worthwhile raising your concerns through channels to correct the above references and route, which might be worth touching base with the creators of the route at cyclingorg as listed above.
@@ISF77 they need to change the sign then, thanks for letting me know.
Solid background track to some helldivers time on a sunday afternoon!
hell yeah :-)
You play slightly off the beat, did you notice that???
@alessandroventura1330 agreed. Still lots of work on points for this. I had the backing track in my headphones watching the video, so there was a delay and couldn't quite hear. I also had just sort of worked out the keyboard riff for guitar and not confident enough when playing it, but decided I needed to do something to help myself... I've probably over complicated it, and It's definitely not perfect. But for me it's something to improve on. There are positives in it's the first time I've edited using two cameras and two audio tracks and highlighted I need to practise!
@@ISF77 next time you will do much better, hard work pays off!!! Greetings from Italy
Nice edit - inspiring stuff 👏 👍5⭐️
I've finished watching your NC 500 videos. I enjoyed watching them on my morning tea breaks this week. I know a lot of the roads you cycled and watching you guys cycle them brought back happy memories. Last year my kids and I rode across the Black Isle. I remember how steep the roads are in places and I can only imagine difficult riding with 25kg of luggage would be going up all the hills you rode up. I have nothing but respect for you both.
Thank you for your comment. If it was easy I wouldn't feel like I achieved anything, things like this are the reason I get out of bed. I've spent many a year riding different places and have nothing to show for it other some lines on a map and fading memories... hence this year I've started to document my adventures, which is something new and can be more difficult than the riding putting it together but something I'm enjoying. I'll certainly revisit Scotland in the not too distant future.
Glad the weather was kinder to you this time around, some great shots and views of the East Coast in this 👌 👍
Thanks Chris it was a good day out on the bike
Great footage of the East coast, stunning! Really glad you went back to revisit this section, it’s my personal favourite. The short sections of sand are very changeable and weather dependant but we chose to put them into the route because they are beautiful, peaceful and keep you away from traffic. I’m not going to lie, I used to hate riding in sand, it’s even made me cry but so glad I preserved and got the hang of it. It’s certainly a skill! If all else fails, take a stroll off the bike… your bum will thank you for it 😂 Glad you enjoyed the route. Fabulous video! ❤
Thank you, I didn't want to leave it too long before filling in those gaps and really enjoyed it..... as you well know the sand is a very small part of the route (I wouldnt need to put on my sand face if I didnt use my top heavy bike) ;-) plus I like a good grumble now and again, this is when you know I'm at my happiest. The tranquilty and changing scenery is what makes this route special... the more technical surfaces are short lived but the memories last forever (I stood under the tree at Dunwich Friary for over an hour to get my drone up, stopped countless times to watch animals, clouds, flowers..... time was irrelevent and thats how this route should be tackled). I'm looking forward to seeing what route(s) you guys come up with next! All the best Ian.
I liked the video, but really struggled for much of it to make out the narration over the background music.
Thank you for the feedback, I intend to do a full length of this series, maybe in a few months and I'll hopefully get it right then.
well done @ian think how boring the vidz would be without having a Wolfy 2 provide a butt 4 all the jokes ;o)
Not all jokes, but you certainly added colour
Love it, brilliant series - thank you!
Thank you for watching 👍
Loved this series. Many thanks.
Thank you very much appreciated 👍🏻
Do it again next, but without resuplying, carry all you need except water.
I'd need to have shopping trolly trailer 🤣👍🏻
Thanks for this. I just finished the Rebellion Way and was looking for another loop. But looking at the terrain I think I'll give this a miss!
David, I think I preferred the Rebellion Way, that said I've ridden the parts of the Wolf Way this past weekend for the bits I missed (Orford/Aldeburgh/Dunwich>Southwold>Beccles). I'm currently editing my last episode of the North Coast 500 so it might be a week or so until I release this, but might be worthwhile you considering doing the East Wolf (Coastal Areas) then looping back your own way as there are some descent roads.
@@ISF77 good idea - I was looking at the East Wolf as an option if I had less time.
Im enjoying the series, my only issue is the music being too loud when youre narrating. It makes it hard yo hear everything you say.
Thanks for the feedback, duly noted... I have the issue no body can hear me on a normal day with no music hence the AI voice for the overdubs. I'll see what I can do in the future.
Excellent video. Love this part of the country. Also you can get tea and coffee in the RSPB exhibition at Forsinard Station and dodge the weather if you need a break. Well worth a look to learn all about the Flow Country. Did this road two weeks in the other direction. If your up this way again the Store Cafe in Bettyhill has the best breakfast rolls I have ever seen.
Apologies for the delay responding I've been on another little adventure. Thank you for the info it's very much appreciated... the original plan was to eat breakfast at the Store Cafe but they opened up too late - there will be a next time!
Would it be hard if using a bike with low gearing such as a touring bike? I have alot less strength than you, my FTP being 160 due to having been in a wheelchair for a while. I do not stand up for hills. The Ribble Endurance Ti I had with Ultegra Di2 had 28 inch gearing, my Kona Sutra 20 inch, the recumbent trike before added a motor , about 13 inch, gear range over 1000% though with rohloff hub and triple chainrings. For a 15% , with 28" gearing, cadence drops, muscles doing a bit of work. 20", not hard, gearing just right. WIth 13" , it might as well be flat, as a doddle, maintaining ideal cadence.
I tend to stay seat on hills, just grind up them.... with living in Suffolk there is very little chance of me getting in hill practise. I've shared all of my Strava data so you can see what sort of efforts I am putting in, I just stick to an output that I am confident of keeping to. The gearing I had was GRX gravel group set 46/30 x 11/32 which was perfect for me. As you mentioned seems like the recumbent might be your best option, as long as you have you plan for charging. The only real steep bits were on the Belach Na Bah, Ep 4 at 4:40 and Lothmore... in that order for difficulty, each of which were not for too long. You can only give it a go.
If i did the 500 would be on a electric recumbent trike with a trailer carrying batteries aswell as camping gear/food.. Is there a way to get past the bridge as doubt I would be able to get it up the steps for the bridge. On the trike would need stop once or twice to recharge as would be coming from edinburgh , total journey 780 miles, riding the whole way, estimated range for batteries being 480 miles.
The bridge features on the next episode which is Invershin bridge, to avoid this ride further south about 5 miles and you will be able to cross Bonar bridge and rejoin the route. I wouldn't recommend trying to go over Invershin bridge on the recumbent. The road is quite wide but is a main road A836 but time it right and you should be good.
Its sunny, in Scotland. Must be AI generated !
you're too clever for your own good buddy :-)
There is alot of sun in Scotland , it is just hidden by thse blo?dy clouds.
@@ISF77 Everone loves a smartass
Great video again. Which month did you do the trip? It seems you were lucky with the weather.
👍🏻17 - 22 May.... we've been rained on enough this year 😆 but we're certainly treated for those few days.
@@ISF77 thank you it looked great.
Great videos Ian really enjoying them.👌👍

Is that the only cycle Jersey Keith has.😂🤢
Your guess is as good as mine! but the evidence is there 💥🐺
lost my sense of smell with covid, so no need to change jerseys for at least 3 weeks` or until they can cycle themselves LoL
I see my banana sticker at 0:07! Great videos so far
This made me smile, many thanks for watching.... I'm off to look for the sticker now 😆
nice i pretty much did this route too last year! but i started in Fort William. :D going to enjoy this.
Thanks for the comment. I started these videos keep the memories alive.... Fort William 🤔 might have to add that in next time 👍🏻
Awesome
Thank you once again... Next episode will be a few days yet - it's got a lot of content and time consuming to make.
@@ISF77 I really appreciate it. Take your time , I will look forward to it whenever that may be.
Brilliant, gets better and is forming the basis of my own adventure.
Great video. Subscribed and looking forward to the next one.
Thank you very much appreciated.
Brought back a bunch of great memories - thanks for uploading and kudos for doing it full wild camping!
Thanks for watching and your comment it's very much appreciated 👍🏻 next episode is currently being put together
Great video Ian, look forward to watching the next one.
Many thanks - really appreciated. With Episode 1 there wasn't too much to document but much better things are coming.
That looked quite a pleasant route. Thanks for sharing.
It was great fun, thanks for watching 👍🏻
did you use stabilzed mode? video is quite shaky!
Yep you're right.... Unsure tbh too long ago for me to check..maybe not as it uses more battery. I never intneded to keep any footage at the time of recording and did not use any software to correct on this one.
Great video of The Wolf Way. Thank you for documenting it. You really were unlucky with the weather on day 1, it certainly messed the trails up for you. Such a shame you had to cut some of the coast out (my favourite). The route you followed is slightly outdated now, the updated route includes Beccles but not St Peter’s brewery as it is no longer open to the public (a real shame). Absolutely superb drone footage of the Bures Dragon too and Pleased to see you featured our house too 😆 A great watch, really enjoyed seeing our route come to life. 🙏🏼
Thank you for your kind words. The coastal areas we are very much familiar with but will be going back to fix that gap... but certainly agree with you. Wolfy, who I rode with certainly enjoyed his beer in the brewery! This documented route will hopefully give some an idea on what to prepare for, and those gems not shown will be more worthwhile when others tackle the route.
Absolutely superb video & a great summation of the "Wolf Way" - top notch 👌 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
good job my friend, live in sidney version? 😊
Thanks for taking the time to comment. It's the original version, I think, from Mr Tabs. I recorded a few days ago alongside this solo. ruclips.net/user/shortsVUCkEv0GF5E?si=DZ5q-EKWE-yJKMft

Excellent, really enjoyed that! Miss playing Blues jams. Keep ‘em coming 👍🏼
Thank you much appreciated 👍🏻
Please let me know how to connect to Strava. I enjoyed watching the video. Thank you
Brian, the connection to Strava is through the CycliqPlus application what can be downloaded through the Cycliq website. It has an option to authorise Strava which should be used. When the Camera is connected to the application choose your video file, once identified there is an option when reviewing to add the overlay; this uses the time stamp on the video to align to your Strava ride(s) at the same time . It's not too difficult to do.
