A tribute to my long time friend Mike Radtke. From the 'Porch Recordings' rehearsal of the band Mad Fables circa 1978, one of my favorite songs penned by Mike.

Live at Roy's on June 5th, 1993 in Harmony NJ, Mad Fables 20th annual Spring Feast and reunion, playing their original song "Head Band". Visit www.madfables.com for their story and much more music.
I didn't know about this damn band haha, glad I discovered it❤️
I saw them in Pittsburgh at the Arts Festival the same year (same line up) - was able to stand at the side of the stage and be mesmerized for the entire show. I remember Brecker's EWI crapped out in one song as he was starting a solo -- he looked around and shrugged it off, picked up his tenor and got to work.... amazing experience (plus seeing the Roland guitar synth used by Chuck Loeb - Victor Baily had the magnetic fretboard and he swapped to fretless - never saw that before!)
What a Vibist!!Man!!Another instrument lost over time!!
Petr Erskine started with the Stan Kenton Big Band .
Mike on the Dukoff and is near absolute perfection, why he switched to Guárdala I’ll never understand. Michael is the monster tenor player that we’ll never hear again.
Chuck totally killing it on the synthaxe!!!
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH!! So good..
I absolutely love this version of Steps!! A time capsule of master musicians displaying their musical prowess and NOT let it get in the way of the music. Rest In Power Michael, Victor and Chuck. ❤️🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽❤️🙏🏽
Between 1984-1990s steps ahead as creative as any fusion at the time....names ...
Nice to see Mike Maniari still wearing his high school letter jacket!
I do believe that's from Billy Joel's '52nd Street' album sessions.
Love these guys, the best fusion band ever... just not sure the Pools melody works on fretted electric bass. Fretless would work, it needs that slipperiness.
いいね❤GOOD音➰☀️🎧️🎶
❤❤❤❤❤❤
Bailey and Erskine so in the damn pocket.
Excellent version with Victor Bailey on electric bass!!
Thanks for this, Den!
Love this! I tune in frequently to hear this good stuff!
1986: after the global nuclear war of 1972 radiocative doorbells were rendered cogniscent and this is the soundtrack to their struggle.
Its a shame that as much as the obvious lead and solo Saxophonist at the front and center of the first song it would take nearly 3 1/2 minutes for the Video Production to showcase on the JAMMING BASS and PLAYER!
5:30
But is the guitarrist Chuck Loeb? I attended a concert with him in Budapest back in 2000 or so.
Delightful - for me for sure.
wow this tune is sick. but the ending is awful lol
Chuckkkk hahahaha 7:26
Bravo, Victor Bailey! What a monster he was!
Michael Brecker was some guy …What a beautiful playing 🎉
❤❤❤❤❤
Mezmorized
Can we please talk a minute about Mr Bailey's tone?
I know, right??
Victor Baily was on fire .. and checkout the musicianship, that little smile from the drummer for the licks Victor slipped @ around 7:56 ..really good stuff
Oops! 7.28
Very Weather plus the vibes. Classy!
Michael Brecker demais, o que é isto.
Victor Bailey - he was excellent!!!
Wow, this is magic. Wonderful musicianship, fusion heaven. Miss Chuck Loeb, Michael Brecker and Victor Bailey, may they rest in peace. ❤
Pools is a great head but the solo section is terrible.
Super
Fantastico!
sooooo good
Victor Bailey en estado de locura y todas al ángulo total

🔥BASS🔥Monster👇😎🎸
Only Mike M. and Peter are still left with us.
dan- can you share the file on a different website? youtube hurts the audio and video quality
They were absolutely amazing. Brecker was extra terrestrial. He was gone way too soon, but will live forever in our hearts!
Great memories ♥️
Znakomici!!!
