The House at Pig Corner
Великобритания
Добавлен 20 сен 2014
The House at Pig Corner is home for a group of guinea pig boars in North Devon. During the daytime the pigs have access to a secluded garden area of approx 100 m2 which is mostly sheltered and/or covered. The channel was originally created with the idea of encouraging viewers to create their own stimulating environment where piggies can be safe, explore, get plenty of fresh air and live their best life possible.
SInce the channel was created its focus has gradually shifted, and it has evolved into something slightly different, which was probably inevitable, and most likely happens with a lot of small channels.
Please note the older clips are gradually being updated, with voiceovers added. If you like what you see and have enjoyed watching, please leave a comment which will help @PigCorner to grow. Thanks. Ash (M)

I like the idea...will have to employ it!
@@barneshomestead1240 thank you, although it wasn’t my idea so I can’t claim the credit!
looks great!
@@Abbayabbadoo thanks but I think too crowded, although much of it may have been excitement at something new. I’m going to redo it probably.
ahah i love the way you worded Percy's description, made me giggle
Yeah, that's become a regular feature of the storyline now! Although the narrator sometimes gets told off if her language slips too much!
@PigCorner ahahahah thats so funny. Just curious because I've been trying to figure it out (not in a creepy way lol) is it your voice with and ai filter on it, or an AI text to speach that's really smart and has an accent? You don't have to answer that if you don't want to haha just curious
@@Abbayabbadoo No that's definitely not me. I purchased the voice a couple years ago for my flightsim hobby.
@@Abbayabbadoo OK
ive found this really cool product on amazon, its like a mini clothing line for guineapigs that you hang their veggies on. i haven't purchased it yet so i cant really comment on what the quality is like, but it sounds like something your piggies would like!
@@Abbayabbadoo thanks so much, I’ll check it out!
I'm sure I could make one of those,. It can't be as difficult as a spiral staircase! lol
@@PigCorner yesss that would definitely be cheaper than buying one
boys are so problematic hahaha - love them though
ahhahah, my boys are like this all the time, i just wish they weren't so dominant and aggressive so that they could all live together as a four
@@Abbayabbadoo Have you ever watched Robert Grimes in Aus? Dozens of boars all living together. I don’t know what the secret is. I asked him but he couldn’t really give me an answer. Wish I knew!
@PigCorner hmm i think I might have heard of it before but I'll have to go back and look, I think the reason my boars don't get along is because two are super dominant and fight and two are super submissive and it's a bit of a clash of personalities that seem to always cause fights. But I've got them in pairs now and I half don't want to rock the boat yk?
@@Abbayabbadoo if and when they move outside to a shed would be the time to try it, especially if they’re going to be able to free roam into part of the garden as well.
@@Abbayabbadoo It's a delicate balance - trying to make it the best it can possibly be for them without upsetting the applecart. There's always going to be a bit of compromise I suppose.
@@PigCorner definitely having more space will improve the balance, I'll have to test the waters a bit. Hopefully they will tolerate eachother
It’s a bit more crowded in there now as there have been a few additions since!
argh i wish my piggies could go outside, but its always raining and making the grass look like slush
It’s been pretty dry here for quite a while now. Every day like this in winter is a bonus. They all just love being outside.
@PigCorner I can't wait for spring when it dries up a bit haha
@@Abbayabbadoo Yes I think we can all agree on that. Roll on summer, that's what the piggies want!
Ahh i have 10 piggies too, they are so adorable
@@Abbayabbadoo Thanks so much. They have taken over now and have become the focus of my everyday life. Hard work sometimes but I love it!
@PigCorner definitely, I wouldn't be without them
Aw this is so cute! Merry Christmas to you and your piggies!
@ Thanks, and the same to you and your assortment of animals, which must keep you busy.
@PigCorner ☺️
I like the gingerbread men with what looks like the piggies' initials on them. Nice touch. 👍I suspect you had a bit of input from next door.
@@JGrant-q5o thanks, that’s very observant and you’re quite right of course.
❤
Looks like everyone had a great Christmas, I’m happy to see it! Hope Stanley was able to suppress his desire for chaos today lol. Seems like the piggies go crazy for apples over everything else. Lil sugar addicts.
Hi again Meowler, hope you had a good christmas. Yes apart from kicking Piggly B, trying to hump Amos and knocking the tree over he behaved quite well this time. Although we didn’t actually see what happened with the tree of course.
❤
@@OGShaBrim Thankyou Barbie. Nice to see you back again.
Glad to see there are no piggies in blankets on the party menu 🤣
@@JGrant-q5o veggies only of course, but gosh can they eat! They’ve hardly stopped since they arrived here, especially those Essex boys!
Awww, I don’t think I’ve ever seen Pike before. What a dashing old lad! Merry Pigmas to the Pig Corner boys and to Heather and the gang. I love the way you’ve decorated the shed, very festive! ❤️🎄🌟🎁
Pike has featured in a few, but he and Amos don't get out as much as the others. Thanks so much for your interest, and best wishes to you too 🎅🌟✴☃
It’s actually funny because one of my elderly dogs is named Amos. Nice to see another one! 😆
@ I don’t think I’ve known another Amos either, so that makes two of us. Plus two of them of course!
Stanley just wakes up and chooses violence. It’s the pretty white fur, he thinks himself the superior piggy. Can’t ever give his mates a break. 🤦♀️
@@Meowler I think he’s done well to calm down this much, and doubt there’ll be any further improvement. He certainly keeps them all on their toes!
❤
That’s another write-up, Heather. 😑 It’s “bum.” *Bum.* In all seriousness though, piggy etiquette is very effective, it would seem. Imagine going out for a coffee and instead of waiting your turn in line, you just shove the people in front of you out of the way, and they just accept that that’s how it is. Seems pretty effective to me! 🤷♀️
I guess Heather must be skating on thin ice by now then? It would be a shame to lose her though, wouldn't it?🤔 Dunno, maybe viewers have had enough of her, and would be happy to see her replaced?
Nooooo, she’s okay! It’s all in good fun anyway lol
@@Meowler I agree, I think she's OK for now. But I'd be interested to hear what other viewers think too. Some may not like it at all?
Feisty little squeakers ❤❤
Feisty indeed! It has improved cconsiderably though as there are now 3 feeding sticks. Mario still likes his own spot under the stairs though.
@@PigCorneru should make 4 or 5 u have a lot piggies they cute 🥰 pretty health looking !
@ Thanks Barbie, there are 3 now and it’s better. Don’t think there’s room for more as they would be too close together, and they’d be rubbing whiskers with each other! Unless I extend the wooden base outwards maybe, to make room for more? I'll have to see if there's any more of that wood left.
I enjoy this ! They gave u attitude they are comfortable the show feelings as female I had guinea pig i know tell you something I miss mines everyday you have bad day but don’t let it ruin ur bond with them Guinea pigs are very emotional I love them and mines I miss him it’s beautiful sight how healthy they are and safe ❤
@@OGShaBrim Thanks so much, and welcome to Pig Corner. I hope you enjoy watching them as they live their free range life here. They are lucky piggies; I too miss the ones I have lost in the past and I doubt that feeling ever goes away. Hope to see you back here again soon. 👍❤️
Lil Cedric is so cute just munching away by his lonesome. What a cute lil guy, I’m sad to hear about his paw. Glad it’s healed now. I think Cedric and Percy are my second favorites. But I don’t know, I also have a soft spot for Mario and Luigi for obvious reasons lol.
Hi, and thanks so much. Cedric is a dear, but he paid a bit of a price for standing up to Stanley. He's OK though, just likes to keep his own space now. My understanding is that Cedric and Percy are brothers, Stanley and Harvey are brothers, and they all share the same father. Albert also shares the same father as those four, and they were all born at the same time, on or around the same day. Pretty cool isn't it?
I think I've got that right regarding the 5 litter brothers. Wendy will probably correct me if I've got it slightly wrong. Their father is a rescue piggie called Yogi. He has a coat of many colours, and that's mainly where the boys get their different colours and markings.
@@PigCorner That is cool! :) You’d think they’d be more tolerant of each other considering there’s some familial bond there, but no. Piggies will be piggies.
@@Meowler They were all well behaved in each others' company when they were young, but the dynamic has gradually changed as they've matured. I think Stanley and Cedric both wanted to be boss. Of course there's the added twist that the three tri-coloureds are also brothers (about 6 months older) - so creating the two tribes, for want of a better phrase!. But yes, piggies will be piggies as you say.
Like shaking a wasp nest lol. Boars really lose their minds when new boars suddenly get introduced. They have zero chill.
Hadn't thought of it quite like that. Was under the impression at the time that there was recognition between the five siblings and great excitement at being together again. Meanwhile Amos doesn't seem in the least bit bit bothered and just wants to get his cavolo nero down his neck.
Criei muito porquinho 🐷 da Índia 🇮🇳 na minha infância 👍🏻🇧🇷
Thank you for your interest and welcome to Pig Corner!
They all seem so content. Watching from Birmingham Alabama USA!
Thank you bh. Yes they lead a pretty good life all things considered. They can be a handful at times, but are well worth the effort. Can't imagine life without them now!
I love finding out what the piggies are up to! I haven't had any of my own in years but I'm starting at a rescue centre in the new year to get my piggie fix
@@crystalalpaca9859Thanks very much for your interest, and welcome back to Pig Corner. As you must already know, piggy life is mainly eating, sleeping and chasing one another around. But it’s fascinating to watch them doing it! You could probably add exploring to that, provided their environment is rich enough.
@@crystalalpaca9859So do you expect to be rescuing one or more of the rescue piggies then? My guess would be it may well turn out like that. Best of luck with it and I’m sure you’ll find it rewarding.
That pile of grass is a real gourmet meal it would seem! Also apparently the audience thinks “arse” is funny, so maybe I’ll allow Heather to use it _sparingly._ You were right about being focused on Stanley moving around in the background. He’s just such a stand-out little guy, no wonder he’s become such a diva. I think being in the spotlight has gone to his head.
I think Heather is simply testing the waters, checking to see how far she can push the boundaries and still get away with it. Maybe she needs a list of words she's not permitted to say?
I think Stanley is doing his best to make the channel all about him, never mind the others!
Maybe Stanley was acting up because he knew he wasn't on the thumbnail for once!
How many little pigs have you got
There are 10 of them Melanie, but they didn't all appear in this one. They are introduced by name in the clip 'Meet the Gang'. Thanks for your interest and great to see you becoming a regular visitor.
Little Stanley seems like a mischief maker 😊
I'm not sure how he does it. Maybe it's because he's white and he catches the eye more easily. He's certainly a character, and very loveable, despite his behaviour sometimes.
I used to have two little guinea pigs. All they seemed to do was eat
@@Melanie-z1o Hi Melanie, thanks for dropping by again. You’re quite right, these little guys haven’t stopped eating since they arrived here back in the summer! The older two are probably not quite as bad now that they’re fully grown, and more or less fit to burst. I think the key to it is perhaps to give them other things to do to keep them busy.
Glad the new chopsticks seem to be working well. I think it’s better that the food is more within reaching distance anyway, since they won’t be able to snap those sticks to get to the stuff that’s too high up. It might just go bad if it doesn’t get eaten.
Very true! You’re on the ball as always. Great to see you dropping by every day, thank you.
It’s just that with the food being so high up there were some great shots of Albert doing his clambering across sideways and standing tall etc. There are more ‘out-takes’ of that, which didn’t make it unfortunately.
How many pigs do you have? They are all so cute!
@@jhsl1600Hi, thanks for your interest and welcome to Pig Corner. There are ten altogether and they are introduced by name in the clip. ‘Meet the Gang’.
Of course the video where I’m praised for being a top contributor is the one I happen to be late to! Oh, well. Can’t win them all I suppose. Thank you for the recognition. ❤ Also can we just acknowledge how incredibly chonky Stanley looks munching those pellets around 2:45? What a pleasingly plump little boy! Kudos to Heather for keeping her cool today. Can’t wait to see how those new steel chopsticks work out.
That view of Stanley munching away on pellets is a bit misleading tbh, as he's squeezed himself up into a ball! In fact I was just thinking yesterday that he is possibly the smallest and skinniest of them all. The camera angles can be deceptive sometimes.
lol that too. Also guinea pigs often scrunch up like that when they’re eating to appear bigger and scarier. I love how fat and floofy it makes them look.
Yes indeed, I remember seeing a female piggy sat on someone's lap once that somehow managed to make herself look about the size of large rabbit! Don't know how, but it was very cute!
And yes, the stainless steel chopsticks arrived and are being tested out right now! Unfortunately they are a bit shorter than the old ones, so we probably won't see any more of Albert's gymnastics!
Nah arse sounds funnier!
@@crystalalpaca9859 Thanks for the feedback. Trying to gauge how far to go with that line of humour and what else she might say without offending anyone.
They love their apples.
Yes, I’m beginning to think they enjoy apples more now than cavolo nero - which I had always thought was their favourite.
Mind you cavolo nero is so expensive here that they only have it when it’s on special offer. So it’s hard to judge really.
Albert can stretch his body
@@ConnorClayton1445 Yes Albert is pretty amazing in what he can manage to do, especially when there are apples involved. There are several clips where he manages to stretch, climb and contort his body in different ways. He has a beautiful shiny black coat too, and he’s usually the first one out of the door in the morning!
Love your Guinea pigs and watching this in England ❤❤❤❤
@@ConnorClayton1445 Thank you Connor, that’s very kind. Thanks for tuning in and pleased to hear you enjoy the show!
Stanley's a little mischief maker ❤😊
@@Melanie-z1o Yes indeed he is. He’s always at the centre of any mischief. There’s a bit of a storyline developing with him.
Love the names you've given these little cuties
@@Melanie-z1o hi Melanie, thanks and glad you like them. There is a bit of a story behind Stanley and Harvey’s names - see the Stanley & Harvey clip for details. Their brothers had to have names to fit in with those two, so all are what I would call old fashioned names I suppose. Thanks for your interest.
How lovely to see these little ones ❤
@@Melanie-z1o They are a handful to manage but I can’t imagine life without them now. The herd has expanded from 3 to 10 during the last year. It’s become virtually a full time job now, but I love it.
Cute! Watching from Texas. :)
@@renep.1451 Thanks for your interest, and many congrats on I think being first ever to say where you’re watching this channel from. Hopefully the first of many?
It sure is cute to watch them trot around and chase after each other. ❤️ They’re so easily entertained by something so simple as a fallen tree. Truly a piggy paradise, because if they’re gonna squabble and bicker, best to do it where they have plenty of space to run. At least you know they’re getting their exercise lol.
Well done again Meowler. You’re doing very well indeed at being first to comment every day. If you keep this up I’m going to have to think up a prize to award you! But seriously, thank you so much for your interest and your insight. I’m glad you enjoy watching these guys and hope you realise your dream and have your own herd of piggies one day.
@ Lol you’re welcome. It’s like following a TV series at this point. I’m invested in the antics of the Pig Corner boys. :P
@@Meowler I'm struggling for content tomorrow though, unless the metal chopsticks turn up in the next hour or two. Might have to just settle for Heather narrating an old clip, but not too many of them left to do now thankfully!
Yes, Heather, you get to keep your job. We know a herd of rowdy boars can make anyone a little irritated sometimes. Like trying to run a daycare where most of the children are peaceful, but then you always have the problem child, which in this case would be Stanley. Even though we still love him. 🤍
I had a laugh at this, as you've almost managed to steal tomorrow's script regarding Stanley the problem child! Either you're getting too good at this, or I'm lagging a bit!🤣
Omg, wow! Maybe I’m secretly reading your scripts when your back is turned? 🤫
Maybe I should just let you write the scripts, and be done with it? 😊
I actually do write, believe it or not lol. I wish I could help with the scripts, though working on my novel keeps me so busy. 🫠
If you’re a writer, you could probably write much better scripts then? Main issues I have with it is that I don’t know yet how far to go with the humour and Heather’s occasional distasteful language. Plus there are some things she says which just don’t sound right, so have to find alternatives.
Happy to hear you might be introducing some lil baby brothers soon. :) Looks like having two feeding sticks is faring a lot better already. They absolutely devoured those apples! Also Cedric reminding you of Pumbaa is adorable lol.
@@Meowler Thanks, but that's entirely dependant on Wendy, of course. Dixi has to have some baby boys first! There was an opportunity to add two younger brothers in Oct, but I passed it up - which I guess I regret now. Two virtually identical brown and white brothers. But they went to a great home I understand.
There was little bit left of one apple last night., the very top bit which I guess they couldn't reach. This morning I found the chopstick snapped off and the apple gone!
Hahahaha, oh my gosh… Looks like you need to invest in some metal chopsticks? 😆
@@Meowler Yes I need to do something about it as starting to run out. I'll be finding myself in trouble soon when it gets discovered!
@@Meowlerchopsticks on order, stainless steel. Thanks for the suggestion.
0:31 Oh no… Stanley found the camera! o: Also poor little Amos. Just trying to live his life and he can’t catch a break.
Yes indeed, poor Amos! Although he does seem to enjoy it, and even go looking for it, if given the opportunity. If anyone has any advice on dealing with this, I'm happy to listen!
There’s Stanley in the thick of it, trying to cause trouble as usual! He was such a quiet, shy little baby
Hi Wendy. Yes thinking back he was fairly well behaved when he first arrived here, although already very vocal! His mischievous nature has gradually developed as he's matrured.
Thank you Meowler. If there are complaints from other viewers Heather will be getting a warning! It's not just her language either, it's the general theme of what she chooses to tell us!
No problem! 😆 I can understand the piggies getting to poor old Heather sometimes. Also I love the spiral staircase, that’s a great idea honestly.
@ Thanks. The spiral staircase was probably the most difficult bit to make, to get the measurements and angles right. But it was worth the effort. None of tthe piggies would use it initially, but now at least 7 of them do.
Heather! You can’t be using language like that around innocent piggy ears! We say “bumbum,” and Stanley is clearly showing off his because he knows it’s the floofiest. He’s flaunting it around like he owns the place. Smh… 🤦♀️
Yes indeed, Heather might find herself out of a job soon if she doesn’t watch what she says! This is a family show. after all!
@@Meowler And yes, Stanley does behave as if he owns the place. I couldn’t agree more. He’s completely different to his four brothers/half brothers. But he’s a very loveable pig nonetheless!
The piggies are living luxurious lives with only the finest of munchies I see. ✨🥬
They don't get that very often tbh, usually only when it's on special offer in the supermarket. With ten of them, a pack of it is gone straight away!
May I ask why the tunnel doesn't have something to level it? That looks like he might have twisted his back a little. He should be fine. Just curious ❤
Hi Noelle, the tunnel is only there as a feature to add interest for them really, and has been used in various different layouts inside and outside the house. I take your point, though, maybe I should add a support at the exit point, something for them to step out onto, or up onto if going inside. Thanks.
