After surviving the Gibb River Road we took a much needed rest at the Lake Argyle Discovery Caravan Park. The views from the infinity pool are nothing short of spectacular. Alex tested out his knee and went for a bike ride around that 5km bike loop that can be accessed from the caravan park. Challenging but rewarding. We also checked out the Lake Argyle Homestead Museum and were lucky enough to...

We managed to survive the Gibb River Road! It was not without its challenges but they were well and truly overcome by the magnificent beauty the Kimberly has to offer. Some of our highlights on this leg of the journey included Zebadee Springs and Emma Gorge, both part of El Questro Station. We had such an amazing trip and can’t wait to get back there. We pulled the trigger and set off on the one of the most revered tracks in Australia - the mighty Gibb River Road. She is 800km of corrugations, gorges and creeks stretching across the Kimberly Region of Western Australia. We kicked off our trip at Birdwood Downs Station and took a short trip tip the road to Windjana Gorge and Tunnel Creek - the latter being one of the highlights of our trip so...
Wickham to Broome

The next leg of our journey sees us travel from Wickham to Middle Lagoon on the Dampier Peninsula. We managed to get some great drone footage during this leg of the journey. Still lots of driving during this period but we are finally getting into our groove. Enjoy!
Karijini to Wickham

We managed to embrace the rain and emerged a little muddy during our stay in Karijini but after rain comes sunshine and that let us to some amazing days of exploring Karijini, Millstream National Park and Python Pool. To cap it off, Emma got to show off her home town of Wickham to the kids from the vantage of Tank Hill. Apologies for the lateness of the videos - it turns out travelling across A...
Our First Week on the Road! Perth to Karijini

We hit the road on our biggest adventure yet with Ceddie in tow and the little munchkins making fart jokes in the back. It's been a long time coming and we are so excited to finally be on the road. Our first stop was Wubin Rocks which is about 3 hours north of Perth on the Great Northern Highway. We highly recommend this spot as it is full of open spaces, lots of fire wood and had the most amaz...
Intro to the Ceduna Quad 15 Mk3
Просмотров 4,1 тыс.7 месяцев назад
We took our Ceduna 15 Quad Mk3 for its first proper test run over the Easter Long Weekend. We had the chance to sit down and go through our first impressions of the new van. All in all we think it’s a great but there are a few little improvements that could make it even better.
Thanks for this. I used it to put together my anti flap kit on my Parkes 15 for the first time today. Life saver.
Great video mate! Thanks for sharing.
We just got a Parkes 15 with the comfort+ pack so which was the same as the comfort, but has 705ah (3×235ah) lithium and the roof raises by compressor and airbags instead of pushing up manually, which you still can do if anything goes wrong. And yes....1000% agree that reverse camera is dogshit. We tried ours at handover and it was a clean lense but looked like itd been sprayed with that fake Christmas snow crap. Over all, we're far happier with it than a dual fold camper purely for the aircon for the wee lad and the minimal setup time. Cheers for reading!
I'm about to order a Parks 15 MK111 (today actually), how do you find it so far? Couldnt sleep last night, do I, dont I... LOL. seems your spec is exactly what i'm about to order.
@willk76 love it so far!
Beautiful photography!!! You should put together a book👌👍🙏
Hi, Have a similar van and mux, Did you guys need a gvm upgrade?
No upgrade. We opted not to install a bull bar so we avoided the need. We weighed the van and car before we left and we were just under GVM and GCM. Cheers
How do you find towing with the mux?
The MUX is a very capable tow vehicle. We opted for the MUX as it still suits our needs as a family car in and around the city. It's taken on some pretty tough tracks including the Gibb and has handled everything I've thrown at while towing the van with the exception of Inskip point (we definitely would have made the FB page on 'I got bogged at Inskip'). We have heavy duty (TJM) airbags on the rear shocks and they help with taking the pressure of the springs. If you get one new I would highly recommend upgrading the GCM/GVM before it is registered. We should have done this. Hope that helps.
Love you all ❤
Why don’t you have towing mirrors? Isn’t it illegal to tow a van without them? How do you see what’s behind?
@@adamriley6468 we were relying on the rear camera on the caravan but picked up mirrors after the Gibb. We should have had them from the start.
Just curious, but what was the ball weight with the bikes on? I have the ISI bike carrier on my parkes mk3 and it was 320 on the ball with 2 bikes. Ball weight from factory said 223 on the plate, but once you add diesel for the heater, 1 gas bottle, a full fridge, same camp chairs and a table… your over the 300kg allowed on the plate 😮
@@adamriley6468 the plate allows for 350kg. We checked the weights before we left loaded with full water tanks and gas. We’re just under on the van and the car but it was close. The bike rack sits as far behind the tow ball as we can get it which helps.
Great VLOG, thanks 👏👏 Just a few tips, if I may. If you need to overtake a truck, call the rear number plate or mining number and say "I'm going to poke my nose out, seen?". You'll get a response. The clear hose filler, get an inline tap from Bunnings and place it near the filler; that way, you can stop the flow when you need to - keep it as a one-person job. 06:45 I trust that you have high-mounted diff and transmission breathers Otherwise you need to wait for the diif and transmission to cool down so they don't suck in water. 07:00 You're low on the back axle and high on the front axle, even when towing a light caravan. You need to reduce your tow ball weight by redistributing weight. 11:30 get a central spreader bar and cut a slice through the middle of a hollow pool noodle and slide it on; it also reduces slapping and subsequent noise . You have awning setup like me. Invest in a Tie Gear setup to hold the awning down at either end. Place the pegs about a foot towards the middle, then tie down. I have drilled out the pins on the top of the legs and replaced them with 15mm M8 bolts and Nyloc nuts; trust me, those pins will fail at some time. I also utilise bent spigot poles from Supapeg (need a 7mm drilled hole, in the black support bar) to prevent the awning from collapsing when the legs experience a gust and the weak tightener comes loose.
@@stuartkcalvin amazing advice Stuart! Water crossings were fine. We have a wading depth of 800mm and we didn’t go more than 500mm during the Gibb. We have now got a spreader bar but still need to get the pool noodle. It’s been great for rain and wind as it provides just enough tension in the awning to allow water to drain properly. Picked up a hose splitter that allows me to do both tanks at once. Great purchase. The original water hose was useless so I bit the bullet and bought a decent water hose. Water pressure on the east coast is way higher than I’m used to so I tend to back off the water when connecting direct to the van. I’ve tried to get as much weight to the rear to minimise ball weight but it’s a work in progress. She tows really well so I’m not too concerned as kings as we’re not over the ball weight. Thanks for watching and safe travels!
@@Campbell-Adventures I mispoke, you need to increase your ball weight to get van to a nose-down posture. You need high-mounted breathers for the transmission and diff, OEN are two low and will suck in water when warm - it doesn't matter what you're wading depth is.
It's always a good thing to get in early with new VLOGers. Following and I hope that you do well. 👏👏
You four are incredible intrepid adventurers through rocky formidable landscape. But so worth it. I’m a very grateful couch traveller to enjoy places I’d otherwise have no knowledge of. Thanks 😊❤
Awesome! Can't wait for the next one. I'd love to see more of your caravan setup and what you guys think of the ceduna mk3?
Coming soon! We're just trying to get a few more vedeos uploaded of our first leg of the trip and then we'll do a full Van walk through.
@@Campbell-Adventures Awesome, I'm looking forward to it. I appreciate the reply. Thanks heaps 😁
really looking into getting the ceduna 15 considering the amount of kit you get for the price. How is the overall quality build since having it for a few months?
The van has help up pretty well given the tracks we'e put her through. For the price and what you get I don't think there are any other vans that would be better. But you always have a few teething issues as well. The anti flap kit is terrible. The diesel heater could definitely be better and we've had a few electrical issues that need to be taken care of under warranty. We've got a service coming up in a couple of weeks so we'll see if they can sort everything out. Im planning to do a run through of some tips for the van. Keep an eye out.
I may or may not have lost my virginity swimming in tank hill. Either way it was an experience (don't tell mum). ❤️😁
Definitely going to tell your mum. 😅
Great vid guys, Karijini is incredible. Might need to invest in some tow/extended mirrors if you haven't already :)
@@tahliazemke3613 we have them now. The rear camera was ok but two mirrors are a better option.
I spent 20 years growing up in Wickham and Point Samson i now live in Perth and miss it up there so much great place to grow up for an outdoorsy kid. PS ive swam in the tank at tank hill.
@@dhiquobgnaloo ha ha ha. That is amazing!! Tank hill just keeps on giving. Emma was there for the first 12 years of her life and still raves about it. We also met some Wickham legends along the Gibb River Road.
Loving your videos. Would love to see more on your caravan setup and what you thoughts are on the ceduna mk3
@@MichaelI-l9b we did a first impressions video for our first video but we will definitely provide another over view and update video. We’ve learnt a lot about the van in the last 6 weeks and we’d love to share our learnings so others can learn from our mistakes.
Amazing , watched again and just loving it❤
❤❤❤❤
What is wrong with you guys? No sponsors flashing across the screen, no bullbar, no 5-inch lift? what about the 30K in accessories? No 150k+ caravan? Bugger You're my sort of family traveling Oz. Love what I see so far, keep up the good work, and enjoy your travels. I'm hooked.
@@Mixos_place thanks for the feedback. It’s amazing what a stock modern day 4wd can do. Didn’t see the need for the bull bar and we’d be pushing the weight limit without a GVM upgrade. Money we’d rather spend on adventures. We only drive during the day so hopefully we don’t get into any strife. The van pulls great and we’ve only had a few issues that have now been sorted. She survived the Gibb better than expected. Cheers!!
@@Campbell-Adventures No need to explain. We are getting around in a 21 yo landcruiser.Take care of the family and ours will be watching your adventures.Safe travels
@cambell-aventures you did the gibb in this setup ?? Well I have to see that because this gives me hope that I don’t need some 150k in extras on a land cruiser to experience it 😅😊
Just caught up with you guys and want to let you know that we also have a hybrid, Signature Iridium 13s, and it too has the shitty anti-flap system. After several arguments my other half decided to number and initial each part, i.e. 1F or 2R etc, to make it a little easier, and it has. Also the more we've put them on the quicker the job's become but this really is a bit of an issue with the imported hybrids. Although having said this you need the anti-flaps to put up any of the walls of the annex which we have used and find brilliant if we're set up for a few days. Will be watching to see if you come up with a solution. Enjoy your trip!!
Hi @@Lainiefj, thanks for reaching out. I’ve managed to work out how to pop on the flap a little easier but we haven’t needed to use it too much lately. Will have to do a post update and hopefully this will help others.
Wow you are making magical memories 🎉
Well done! What a great adventure.
That is awesome, amazing 🎉

Hi guys, I loved this video. Can't wait to see more. Do you have an instagram page?
@@MichaelI-l9b you can find us at @campbellsgorogue on instagram 🙌
Awesome. Thinking of getting one. So will watch all the adventures. Does it tow well? We have a hilux and we are thinking of getting airbags. Did you get suspension upgrade at all?
Gday Michael, we have put airbags on the rear to account to the 280-300kg towball weight. We’ve just did a weigh in at a public weigh bridge with the water tanks full. We had about 60kg left on the 3 tonne atm. When hitched the GVM on our car was 2680 (2800 max) with all passengers inside. Note that we’re not putting a bull bar on otherwise we’d have to do a gvm upgrade. We might do it later down the track but that will be an 8-10k exercise. I would assume a 300kg towball weight, add that to your existing weight and see how you go. Keep in mind that each axles has its own weight rating. Hope that helps.
Also, tows well at about 95km/h. Tows best with about 50% in the water tanks.
@@Alexcampbelloz quick question, if you don't mind. What vehicle are you using to tow with? Also considering one of their hybrids and concerned about tow weight is all. My calcs add up for my Ute, just wanted to do a power comparison. tia. Peter
@@peterl3220 Sorry Peter, didn't see this till now. We tow with a 2024 MUX - we are close to the van tare and GCM when we have full water tanks.
