Hello. I rescued the same Calatheas from Lowes. I learned the hard way keeping them in soil. They declined to roots and all leaves died back. The roots were still good. I did some research and found they thrive pretty well in water and then semi-hydro. So I purchased 2 diff ones of the same family and put them in water right away and they are doing amazing. You don't have to do that if the soil is working for you. But just in case they start declining, see if that works. I'm new to ponytail palm. I'm down to my last lil one. All the others succumbed to over watering. I act like it doesn't exist so I don't water it. lol. Loving your channel. New subbie!

I would plant a calathea in the pedestal type pot, maybe an orbifollia or white fusion. I would put growing medium just in the bottom portion and set it down low, perhaps in the front of a floor grouping.

😂 hey buy the dead plants when you get home leave it in the bag put a few cubes of ice in the bag leave it for a few days and you will see the outcome.😅😅😅

You could try to cut/pull off a pup or two from the moon cactus and graft them onto the pieces of Hylocereus cactus you have! It's pretty easy with a little patience and you have plenty of material to give it a try. Hylocereus is dragonfruit by the way and it likes more moisture than typical cacti. The reason the commercial growers cut off all the spines is because once you graft onto a cactus they will try to sprout new shoots from where the spines are. The new shoots would grow and take up energy that you want to go to the grafted cactus. Usually you shouldn't have to worry about the top of the graft dying unless the bottom stock is unhappy from environmental conditions or from being too old in which case you can regraft the top part. I wonder what happened to the top of your first one. Anyhow good growing and best of luck!

I'd be leery of bringing pests home. But good job, you got plants at a decent cost. I buy tiny, online plants because of pests that came with plants from lowes and home depot, Walmart.

TIP: put your hand behind the stem/plant if you want the camera to focus. otherwise i think this will survive. but be very carefull when trimming dead stuff from this rescues because you might cut off a node where growth might be coming from.keep us posted

I put mine outside in the summer. Ease it into full sun. My large one gives me 2 seed pods every year. This is my favorite flower. ❤

Am sorry but that plant isnot salvageable because it has no node for growth to come out of. But That Doesn't mean you shouldn't rescue it. I Would but it in very nutrient rich soil and see if any unseen growth points will activate and produce growth.

You could take out the pieces, cut the bad areas off , start a prop box and put the pieces in there. I'm thinking its a Philodendron or maybe a pothos ?

I would have bought both of them ! The zz plant is so easy, just don't over water her. She's easy to propagate too ! Elephant ears multiply ever year , so you can eventually sell some plants to help with your costs ! (I understand 😁)

Nope you did not waste your money ! The desert rose alone was worth it ! That's the one in the blue pot behind the first one you did ! They are very easy. Repot in good cactus soil, give some succulent fertilizer, and you will fall in love ! ❤ I'm thinking #3 is a money plant. They usually rename them bonsai ! 🙄 I always try water and fertilizer first. I use a spray bottle for my succulents and never over water that way. Because they have such shallow roots thats all they need, I love the self watering pots! Look up barrel cactus for i.d. on the succulent. The Pony tail palm stores water in that bulge so don't over water it.

A lot of times, Lowes has a clearance in the house plant section also. I check both areas ! 😁 Portulaca is great in pots. They tumble down and have different color flowers all on one plant. Its my summer go to plant. Full sun too ! I think they need to mark the large, well maybe all, 😁 the plants that are hanging on with one stem still growing, 75% or so. Hard to take a chance on a palm tree with 8 dead leaves and one live one , but 75% off, yep, ill try to save it ! ❤

I ❤❤❤ the clearance racks !! Most are just neglected, over/underwatered. I counted the plants in my front room only, south facing windows, there are 67 !! 😳 That's not counting the other rooms, lol. All from clearance racks ! ❤ My main plant is philodendrons !! ❤❤❤ You can cut out that rot and then put some aloe Vera gel on it and let it heal. I would have bought all of those too ! 😂😂😂

They are star aloes I have 2 of them. I would cut out that fungus and use the aloe gel itself to heal that spot. That's just me because I'm also a Lowes clearance rack junkie ! 😁 The others look really good though. So I would probably put that one in a separate pot to ensure the fungus doesn't spread to the others. Nice find ❤❤❤
