So true, look up "racial homophily" and reas about homophily in general.
What about hiring through networks and connections? This can really hurt diversity and lead to discrimination.
Exactly, White networks. Its why certain groups are very underrepresented in many industries.
Great video! It needs one small correction: At 2:12 the word "decision" is incorrectly spelt "desision".
Thanks for sharing such a creative video.
Great video 👏👏👏
I'm white in color, but identify as black. Its makes things easier for me. I work hard, and the employer can say they promoted a minority. Win. Win. If you say I'm white. Your a racist and discriminate. Lol!!
why do people tend to be bias ?
gembeification this is pretty interesting.. I have a female co worker who applied to two of the same exact jobs I applied for. She’s received offers and interviews from both. I wasn’t interviewed or offer any of the two jobs. We have the same education.. she also has a LinkedIn with her profile picture and I closed my LinkedIn last year.. I’ve seen her resume and she’s seen mine.. I have the better experience but I also think these companies are looking for a certain personality or gender at times even if you make it pass the interview stage
@@Coolguy-fz5re this is the point though, it works both ways! having unconscious bias training will benefit both women and men, and people of all skin tones because you have to question your assumptions about people. steps towards equality benefit everyone :)
3:07 These Super Fast Links Are Used To Make Rapid People Judgments Below The Level Of Our Subconscious. The Conscious Thinks It Is In Control, But The Unconscious Calls The Shots And Leaves The Conscious To Believe That It Is In Control By Rationalizing Decisions The Unconscious Has Already Made. 3:45 We Tend To Wire More Positive Connections For People Who Are Like Us. Who Look Like Us, Sound Like Us, Share Our Background, Culture, And Interests. That Leaves People Who Are Less Like Us Not Being Treated As Positively...(KEEP LISTENING)...We Trust People For Whom We Have Unintentionally Wired Positive Connections. We Give Them Jobs, Give Them The Best Work, Allocate Them To Our Teams, And Say The Right Things About Them When It Matters.
What can we do about "unconscious bias?" Treat it like the fairly tale that it actually is. I laughed at "specialist of unconscious bias." Next time I'm in a coma I'll be sure to check my *unconsciousness* while at it. Joking side, why are we forgetting the subconscious state? Anyway, leftism is so tedious.
Hello, what software do you use to make this video? It's wonderful.
