The John Innes Centre has a field trials and experimentation farm located on the outskirts of Norwich, in the village of Bawburgh. This is where crops that have been studied under laboratory and greenhouse conditions are taken into the field to trial how they perform in real life conditions. Church Farm is home to the Dorothea de Winton field station where we bring together lab and field resear...
Introducing Kenya's MARPLE Diagnostics Hub 2022
Просмотров 2072 года назад
In this video, researchers from the John Innes Centre and International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT) explain the benefits behind launching a new Njoro MARPLE diagnostics hub by training 17 plant pathologists in July 2022. This new capability enables local researchers to identify rampant yellow rust strains within two days of collecting samples, a process that previously took 3-12...

This is the "Heard of CRISPR gene editing but not sure what it is? 🌱🧬" with a new and improved voiceover. CRISPR gene editing is one of the latest ways to develop new crops. Here we explain the history of how we have been breeding plants, where CRISPR fits into this and and how it works. The role of plant circadian rhythms in agriculture
An excellent talk. I really appreciated the examples that are given and the literature that was cited. One of the most important messages that needs to be amplified (perhaps especially for scientists like me who work in organic agriculture,) is that: 'There is no room for dogma in science." Below are a few of the author's papers that also mention this issue. Giller K.E., J.A. Andersson, M. Corbeels, J. Kirkegaard, D. Mortensen, O. Erenstein, B. Vanlauwe. 2015. I hope the experiment design included a control with only wire mesh, without heating.

It's amazing how the ACLU lost its way by censoring speech in the early 2020. It is no longer a free speech advocate, but a censoring legal organization.
Very Clear, Thanks
Awsome. How cell remember that has to be liver, skin or other.... Or how to make them forget
You have any research papers related your work?
Very cool!!! 😍
I like it
Is there any companies that I can’t invest in to support the use of Crispr in plants and animals? ☺️
Nice Video ❤

Thanks Jared and host, insightful and inclusive.
I WOULD RATHER GO TO SPENCER TRACY, & FREDERIC MARCH FOR THE MELODRAMA IT HAS APPEAL TO THOSE WHO ENJOY HISTORY WITH A DASH OF HOLLYWOOD !
This is a holistic lecture on fixing the broken food system.
An insightful lecture containing much food for thought on the directions we're heading in and the potential pitfalls.
Very informative talk.
I think nano bots is the way to go. Then we could program them to do anything.
I also doing masters dissertation to its prove very helpful ❤

Wow. Mencken was an ass***e. Good video.
The film, “inherit the wind, “is an absolute disgrace.
Why ?
This is terrifying I believe this is how we will go extinct by one day bacteria evolving and spreading among the people like a plague and no new antibiotic’s will work.. it’s bound to happen inevitably 😢
Doesn't matter you look so good it was time to go any way. I'd rather pick a flower at its bloom
Just took 2 amoxycilin and my fever went down which had been lingering past few days!
God bless John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

You have to take the whole bottle or the bacteria will become resistant
@tommyjerry5851 Fevers can be caused by bacteria.

Excellent video thanks! I wonder why the tips of flag leafs of Fielder plants are yellow. That's normal in Fielder?
I've seen Spittle. Leaders all ignore though. 🤷♀️

Excellent video. This is how effective science communication must be done!
Nice video, Thanks Sir.
This video was very very inspirational, as a student of biotechnology I have to learn and prepare my pathway also.

Gmo is a bad idea! Thankfully they at least must be labeled by law so we can know what is gmo now. Love science but gmo is never ok. Cant be contained or reversed after introduced. similar scenario to stopping a nuclear reaction. "more research" findings will have no effect after its escaped into natural nature and cannot be removed. consumers be aware of the marketing claims of health benefits from unnatural synthetic laboratory foods. Trying to make gmo foods sound healthy is far fetched, predatory marketing. Just eat some normal berries if you want more antioxidants. This tomato could never exist naturally or even from conventional plant breeding techniques and therefore is unnatural to consume. Gmo sugar, soy and corn have been suspected of causing cancer for years, no wonder they have a convenient gmo cancer solution up their sleeves. Educated people will not buy. remember the flavr savr.
Having to watch for school project 😂
Ratio unfortunately
This is wonderful, really inspiring even for engineering application; or just poetically incredible.
Thanks Penny, nice and very informative presentation. Just to add a note, earlier this summer the UK Regulatory Horizons Council published an update to its report on future regulation of genetic technologies (assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1089198/regulatory_horizons_council_report_on_genetic_technologies_july_2022.pdf) and an accompanying policy brief (assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/1087567/regulatory_horizons_council_policy_brief_on_genetic_technologies.pdf). These look forward to a future where all products of genetic technologies are regulated on the basis of their risks and benefits rather than the method used to produce them.
Do you know whether these documents are still available? The links you attached no longer work unfortunately!
